2016 Dodge Challenger Srt Hellcat on 2040-cars
Roanoke, Texas, United States
Please message me with questions at: dyandccurson@norwichfans.com .
For Sale is my 2016 Challenger SRT in Plum Crazy. Let me start by saying I never thought I would sell this car.
Okay, with that out of the way, here we go. I ordered this Hellcat in September of 2015 when Dodge announced they
would do a limited run for the Plum Crazy Color (I already had a Scat Pack Challenger). My local FCA dealer in
Texas did not have allocation so I ordered the car through Van Dyke Dodge in Warren, MI.
In this color combination, this is arguably the best looking car that has ever rolled off of a Dodge assembly line.
With the options I ordered, this is an authenticated 1 of 1 (see Config tree documentation by VIN). There is no
other Hellcat with the exact same options and only 4 plum crazy Challengers were built with the Sepia Leather
interior. Plum Crazy exterior , Sepia interior, Sunroof, Brass Monkey Wheels and a 6 speed. This is old school
with style. It is rare and will always be rare. But forget the investment angle, this is just a unique and fun
car that should be enjoyed. It's nearly impossible to take it out without getting a bunch of thumbs up. I mostly
took it out on weekends for family cruises. It is not a daily driver and has always been garaged. It has not been
raced, modified or abused. It is 100% as it left the factory. I have the factory yellow chin guards and front
license plate (that was never mounted). Everything on the car is original down to its air filter.
Being the only owner I have full confidence in describing condition. This car does not have a single chip, dent or
scratch that I can see. Needless to say, the car is completely accident free. It has been babied. I have changed
the oil on it myself (Penzoil Ultra Premium and SRT filter) as never wanted to let the dealer touch it. The only
thing it has ever been to the dealer for was a defective radiator cap which was replaced with a Mopar factory
original. The car is perfect. Balance of the 3/36 factory bumper to bumper warranty will transfer, so another
32K miles or until 11/2018.
I am reluctantly selling the car to make space in my garage.

Thieves relieve Detroit-area Dodge dealer of $70,000 in SRT wheels
Tue, Apr 26 2016Okay Mopar fans, this won't be easy to read. A video, which has since been made private, popped up over on Reddit's Cars subreddit over the weekend and detailed the aftermath of a massive wheel heist at a metro Detroit dealership. Thieves broke into Sterling Heights Dodge and made off with at least $70,000 worth of wheels and tires. The thieves ignored the V6 models and instead targeted Hellcat, SRT392, Scat Pack, and R/T versions of the Charger and Challenger. The poor muscle cars were left sitting on blocks, with the voice behind the video saying the treatment led to underbody damage. We only counted 12 cars, but the person shooting the video said thieves targeted 14 vehicles. That works out to about $5,000 in wheels per vehicle. We've reached out to Sterling Heights Dodge general manager and the Sterling Heights Police Department for comments. We haven't heard back yet, but we'll be sure to update this post with any additional information. Oh, and if you're in metro Detroit and perusing Craigslist for a new set of alloys, we'd advise against buying Dodge wheels for the next few weeks. They might be hot. Related Video:
From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511
Fri, Apr 7 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour
Wed, Apr 13 2016Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph.
