What makes this one different than other SRT8's for sale?

  1. It is in the same condition as when I bought it. Not one scratch or stain or door ding or stone chip. Stored over the winter under a car cover and I avoid driving it when rain is forecast. I don't park it next to other cars.
  2. It has every extra option except the automatic transmission and the appearance package (door sill name plates). The satellite contract was renewed in April 2013 (radio, traffic, weather, movie times, sports, ski conditions, etc). And the GPS maps software was updated with the most recent release by dodge. Comes with extra options like front and rear cameras, as well as a $300 car cover.
  3. Never abused or driven by anyone other than me. No high rpm, no burn outs, no hard turning, no hard stopping. I special ordered the car so no one test drove it before I owned it.
Features: The styling is black with red center stripes. Matching the brake calipers and the black pocket wheels. The inside black leather has the red accent stripes and srt badging. I get a LOT of attention in this. The options already listed cover the extras that cost me more when buying it (730N Media Canter, Premium Sound Package, Power Sunroof, 20x9 Black Pocket SRT Wheels, cameras, car cover), but all the other options (aside from appearance package and automatic transmission) would be common among all srt8's. I have a five page list of the standard options if you're interested or you can see them online at the dodge web site.

Condition: Like new. Professionally maintained above manufacturer's recommendations. Professionally prepped for winter storage. Inside and out, a perfect 10. Underside is as clean as the top when viewed on a lift. Tires (all season) still almost new, typical wear for 6k miles of light driving. Always garaged (heated).

History: I ordered the car special from the dealer, took delivery of it April 2012. It had a couple manufacturing related squeaks and issues that I had dodge take care of (all records and paperwork included). Oil and filter changed. Washed regularly. Driven mostly to work and back, no traffic. Only premium gas used. Really no significant history to speak of. It's only been driven for 8 months as a secondary car. MSRP when new $49,995 + $1,000 gas guzzler tax. I still love the car, its the best I've ever owned, but I need to sell it in order to pay other household expenses.

Shipping and Inspection: US buyers only please. I strongly suggest coming and looking at the car/ records in person. I will assist in loading the vehicle for transport. Shipping is at buyer's expense. I can arrange to meet prospective buyers at my home or work for test drives. I will ride along though. I will assist in scheduling and taking the car to an inspection with a mechanic near me or the dodge dealership near me (at prospective buyer's expense) where you can discuss the car with an impartial 3rd party should you choose.

Payment: Non-refundable deposit of $500 due within 48 hours, either cash, cashier's/ bank check, or paypal. Full payment due in 7 days. Remainder can be paid in cash, personal check, or bank check or escrow.com. If you choose escrow.com I will agree to pay the .89% escrow fee for the transfer as it assures security for seller as much as the buyer. Buyer would be responsible for any extra escrow.com fees. Please note, I will not release the car until I have verification from my bank that all monies have cleared and that the transaction was legitimate.

Thanks for your interest.
Mike

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

Dodge offering novel 1-year lease on '14 Challenger and Charger models

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Dodge is just days away from unveiling refreshed versions of the Charger and Challenger at the 2014 New York Auto Show, models promising updated styling and new powertrain options. Depending on how you look at it, the company is either so confident in its forthcoming 2015 models that it's offering an interesting Double-Up lease deal on the current vehicles, or it's so eager to clear out existing stock that it's resorting to novel lease deals. In any case, what they present is an interesting scenario, one which allows buyers to get the existing model right now, and then trade up to the facelifted 2015 models in one year.
Starting April 17, when the refreshed cars debut through the end of August, buyers can lease a 2014 Charger or Challenger for one year and exchange it for a three-year lease on a 2015 model next year, with no additional money down and the same monthly payment. Customers can even switch vehicles when the new lease starts. If drivers want to buy the '15, they get $1,000 off the purchase price. To be eligible, both leases must use the same dealership and be financed through Chrysler Capital. The Double-Up deal excludes the SRT versions of both cars and Charger SE models.
To offset the flood of one-year-old models coming back to dealerships, Dodge has struck a deal with rental car agency Enterprise, which has agreed to buy them all. "One-year leases are highly unusual in the industry," said company spokesperson Ralph Kisiel, and the fleet sale deal is what makes it possible.
