It is still covered under the factory 3 year/36,000 mile warranty for a little while longer. There is also an additional 5 year/75,000 mile warranty on the vehicle."

I bought this vehicle in June of 2012.  It is brilliant black in color, with dark grey heated leather seats.  Features include power moon roof, Sirius/XM stereo with CD, power everything, 5.7L Hemi V-8, 6-speed manual with pistol grip shifter, huge trunk, fold-down seats, and room in the back for 2 real adults.  This is not a "pony" car like the magazines try to portray it .. It is full-size, sits on a chassis similar to the Chrysler 300, and rides like a dream.  It has way more power than you will ever use, but still gets 20-22 mpg in combined highway/city driving.  If you are still reading at this point, I will assume you have more than a passing interest.  This car is like new, but has actually been driven .. If you want a brand new Challenger like this one, go to the dealer and be prepared to shell out about $43,000.  I will list the few minor flaws first .. There are a few tiny scratches in the paint that I have smoothed over with factory touch-up paint.  You can only see them up-close if you are looking for them.  The factory floor mats were not in the vehicle when I purchased it .. Someone put some cheap black floor mats in that I planned to replace before I decided to sell.  There are a few minor smudges around the trunk, again from the previous owner .. But they do not show up in photos.

Now for the good stuff.  Right after I got this car, I joined the ChallengerForumZ website.  It has a lot of owners and is the best resource for upgrades, repairs, etc .. I would suggest you do the same.  After a few months of reading posts, I made some minor modifications based on the experiences of all those current owners.  None of these things affect the warranty .. But all of them improved the car significantly.  I spent quite a bit of money and time on these upgrades.  Here is the list -

Swapped out non-functional hood scoops for new ones that actually let air into the engine compartment.
Removed the "prop" hood lift and installed hydraulic lifts so the hood goes up smooth and stays there.
Replaced the factory "baffled" air intake with a new one from the 2012 Dodge Charger .. This allows for more correct intake temp monitoring.
Removed "ram-head" from the nose of the car and replaced with a black billet "R/T" emblem from Billet Technology.
Added resistor switch to manual transmission that overrides the skip-shift "feature" that comes installed on Tremec 6-speeds.
Changed out chrome "ram-head" wheel caps and replaced them with a black billet "R/T" emblems from Billet Technology.
Also replaced factory "2-piece" chrome lug nuts with quality black Gorilla brand lug nuts .. No air gun has ever been used on them.
Added a Lakewood tower strut brace to the front suspension that really tightened up the vehicles handling.
Complimented tower strut brace by installing Drake billet strut covers .. You can see the result in the pictures of the engine compartment.
I upgraded the rear taillight wiring harness by adding sequential turn signal lights.  This is similar to what is on the new Mustangs.
Bought an emergency brake pedal cover that matches the factory metal covers on the other pedals.
Last but not least, I removed the huge, heavy factory resonators at the rear of the exhaust system and replaced them with small light glass-packs for much improved flow, performance and sound.

I love this car and planned on keeping it forever .. But a recent divorce is forcing me to sell.  I promise you will love this vehicle.  I look forward to getting up and driving it everyday.  It has always been garaged and maintained by me personally.  I don't let any kids at tire stores lay a hand on it.  I remove the wheels every 6 months and clean them ON THE INSIDE if that gives you any indication of the level of detail this car receives on a regular basis.  Please email me any questions you may have.  Thanks for reading .. And good luck bidding.

On Sep-26-13 at 14:18:26 PDT, seller added the following information:

I forgot to mention that I also replaced the "Fuel" badge on the fuel cover with a black billet "R/T" emblem from Billet Technology.  Including a close-up picture of the wheels .. And a picture of the front of the vehicle that was taken before the modifications to the wheel caps and lugs.

Trump tells Detroit 3 CEOs he wants more US jobs, calls environmentalists 'out of control'

Tue, Jan 24 2017

As expected, President Donald J. Trump met with top executives from FCA, Ford, and General Motors this morning as part of a larger push to generate jobs in America. "I want new plants to be built here for cars sold here!", Trump said in a tweet ahead of the meeting. Not everything said in the meeting was made public, but the President later tweeted that he had a "Great meeting with automobile industry leaders." FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, Ford chief Mark Fields, and GM's Mary Barra all echoed the positive vibes after the meeting. In a statement, Barra called the discussion "very constructive and wide-ranging," adding that it focused on "policies that support a strong and competitive economy and auto industry," and "that supports the environment and safety." That's noteworthy, because Trump is reported to have said "I am to a large extent an environmentalist. I believe in it, but it's out of control." Fields, speaking to reporters after the meeting, said, "We're excited about working together with the president and his administration on tax policies, on regulation and on trade to really create a renaissance in American manufacturing." The Ford CEO was specifically talking about Trump's withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. "We've repeatedly said that the mother of all trade barriers is currency manipulation, and TPP failed in meaningfully dealing with that, and we appreciate the president's courage to walk away from a bad trade deal," he said. Marchionne focused on American manufacturing in his statement after the meeting. "I appreciate the President's focus on making the US a great place to do business. We look forward to working with President Trump and members of Congress to strengthen American manufacturing." Perhaps equally as interesting as what was said and who was invited are what wasn't said and who wasn't invited. Trump has been very vocal about his distaste for US automakers' plants in Mexico, but no mention was made of the North American Free Trade Agreement by Trump or any of the Detroit CEOs after the meeting. We also have to wonder if Trump plans to meet with representatives from German, Japanese, and Korean automakers that have made massive investments into American plants and produce a large number of cars in this country. What is the fastest car in the world in 2024?

Sat, Jun 15 2024

It wasn't that long ago that the notion of reaching 200 miles per hour in a car, on a road, seemed basically impossible. As you likely know by now, that time has passed. And once that threshold was crossed, the automotive world immediately began eying the next triple-digit benchmark: 300 miles per hour. It may have taken a little while, but the 300-mph line has been crossed, and some cars have moved well past that seemingly insane speed number. While some of these speeds have been achieved in simulations (including the fastest car listed below), there's little doubt that a driver with nerves of steel and a heavy right foot could indeed push several automobiles up to 300 miles per hour and beyond. Interestingly, it’s not just one car or automaker in the 300-mph club, as a handful of models have earned a place (sometimes claimed but not yet demonstrated) on the leaderboard. The fastest car in the world is: Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut (330 MPH) That title goes to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which recorded a staggering 330 mph top speed earlier in 2023. The carÂ’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 lays down 1,600 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, which plays a significant role in delivering that speed, but KoenigseggÂ’s engineers have given the car a lot more than mind-blowing power. The Jesko Absolut has a super-slippery 0.278 drag coefficient and a nine-speed transmission that shifts so quickly itÂ’s almost imperceptible. Koenigsegg calls it a Light Speed Transmission (LST), saying its shifts happen at almost light speed. While that might be a slight exaggeration, the gearbox is impressive, bringing several wet multi-disc clutches and a super lightweight construction. As Koenigsegg says, "the Jesko Absolut is destined to achieve higher, more extraordinary speeds than any Koenigsegg or any other fully homologated car before it." How expensive is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut? If you were reading that and wondering how much the fastest car in the world costs, the price tag is just another dizzying number on the Jesko Absolut's spec sheet. All 125 Absolut cars offered sold out at a price of almost $3 million. Of course, being able to afford the Koenigsegg is just the first step in realizing its full potential. There are very few places on the map that can support a 300-plus-mph speed run, and the locations that do are not conveniently located.

Barracuda's Dodge branding no biggie, but what about engines?

Thu, Aug 27 2015

Rumors about a revival of the Barracuda nameplate have been circulating for years now, though which brand it might fall under has been a bit of a mystery. Initial speculation had the car labeled an SRT product, but that acronym has since returned to its former role as a sub-brand for top-performance Mopars. Thanks to leaks from a recent FCA dealership event, we know the Barracuda is back on the table but will be sold under the Dodge umbrella, a move that has been generating a bit of ire from Pentastar fanatics, as the car was originally part of the defunct Plymouth brand. Given what's known about the new model, however, the badge is the least of my concerns about the new car. Let's start with the re-branding itself. This isn't the first time Chrysler has shuffled models around to different brands. The current-generation Viper spent two years as the flagship model under the SRT banner, only to return to Dodge for 2015 when SRT resumed its former role as a sub-brand. Years ago, the Neon was sold as a Plymouth, a Dodge, and a Chrysler model, depending on where you shopped for one. When Plymouth ceased to exist, the last few years of Prowler production got Chrysler badges instead. Then there's the new Jeep Renegade, a model whose name was born out of a trim level. The Barracuda might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. Further examples of naming liberties taken throughout automotive history could fill a book, but suffice it to say that these days a model's name has very little to do with the vehicle itself or any legacy it might have. The Barracuda name might be a particularly sacred cow with enthusiasts, but to me, a much bigger concern is the fact that the car might not turn out to be a muscle car in the way we currently define them. News from the Fiat Chrysler dealer briefing earlier this week indicates that when the next Charger debuts it will share its platform with the Barracuda, much the way the Charger and Challenger are twinned now. One difference is that the Barracuda is tipped to be offered as a convertible, while the modern Challenger is tintop-only. The Charger and Barracuda will use the rear-drive platform developed for Alfa Romeo's new Giulia, itself designed as a BMW M3 fighter both from a dimensional and dynamic standpoint; the Barracuda is expected to be slightly smaller than the current Challenger.
