Please make sure you read the "Auction Terms and Payment Information" section at the bottom before you bid. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at all.  If you prefer to speak by phone that'd be great but I no longer put my phone number directly in listings.  Please click on the "ask seller a question" link and forward your phone number or request mine.  Inspections are certainly welcome and encouraged.  After checking on eBay and consulting several other resources, I've set the starting bid extremely low and the reserve reflects what I consider to be the realistic fair market value for a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 of this caliber.  Please note that it is for sale locally, regionally, and nationally in several print classifieds and on other websites so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.  Serious buyers are more than welcome to contact me regarding a fair Buy It Now price.

Please bid with confidence. I've been buying and selling on eBay since 2002 and have dealt with everything from old stamps to semi trucks. Again please make sure you read the auction terms and payment information below before bidding and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

ABSOLUTELY NO TRADES!!!

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with 6.1 Liter Hemi rated at 425 horsepower.  Numbered First Edition (3787 of 6400) in Hemi Orange with black leather interior.  This Challenger features an automatic transmission, premium audio AM/FM/Sirius satellite radio with multi disc CD player and MP3 capability, surround sound, factory installed Kicker sub, UConnect Blue Tooth, color coordinated orange leather seat inserts, special SRT badging, blacked out spoiler, hood stripes, performance monitor, power driver's seat, heated seats, push button starter, and all the other amenities you would expect to find on a car nowadays like cruise control, power windows and door locks.  It does not have a sunroof.  The car currently has roughly 8,100 miles but I am driving it from time to time so please expect it to be slightly higher upon purchase.  We are the second owners and we bought this Challenger from a dealership last February where much to my surprise we found out that we were familiar with the car and its original owner as he doesn't live too far from us.  He had it in a couple of the same local car shows that we like to attend.  To be frank what you see is what you get with this one.  It's a pampered 2 owner adult driven car with a little over 8000 miles on it.  No dents or dings or mechanical issues at all.  It's been very well maintained and is extremely clean and is pretty much in like new condition.  The only thing I've had to do to it is replace the dash speakers as one was blown.  That's a fairly common problem with these.  On a more personal level we've had both a Challenger R/T and a 2010 Camaro SS as well as several other old muscle cars and this is by far our most favorite.  We hate to get rid of it but we found out almost exactly a month to the day after we bought it that we are expecting another little one in our house.  Anyway, while this Challenger is used it really is practically like brand new without the price or hassle of a dealership.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or request my phone number if you wish to speak by phone.

Auction Terms and Payment Information

I have tried to describe this Challenger to the best of my ability but it is still used.  While I don't expect the buyer to have any problems with it at all, routine maintenance and repairs should be expected.  This Challenger sells AS IS with no warranty written or implied.

Post auction communication is very important.  While I generally try to work with everybody the buyer should try to contact me within 24 hours after the auction so we can start working out details on completing the transaction and getting the car picked up.  Prompt contact after the sale also lets me know the buyer is serious about following through.  eBay is a serious marketplace for me and millions of other individuals and bidding or buying should not be taken lightly.  Non paying bidder reports will be filed without warning 4 days after the end of the auction when communication from the buyer or bidder is scarce or non-existent after the auction.  Communication folks...know it...use it...love it!

Payment by cashier's or bank check only, even if you intend to pay in person.  Absolutely no personal checks or money orders.  Vehicle title is readily available.  I do not accept deposits.  I ask that payment in full be received in a reasonable amount of time.  By reasonable amount of time I do not mean after you win the lottery, your divorce is finalized, your tax refund comes back, you try to come with a way so your wife doesn't find out, or your settlement comes in.  Yes, I've heard all of those before as well as others.  Generally it means within a week or so.  Also, please be aware that I am not a dealer or bank and that I do not sell items on contract or offer financing of any kind.  Please have all financing lined up before you bid or click the Buy It Now button or forward an offer.

Auction is open to U.S. bidders only.

The buyer is responsible for setting up and paying for shipping and any other associated charges.  I can give some very general recommendations on where to find a shipper if needed.  The Challenger will not leave my property until I receive payment in full or until payment clears.   This car is located outside of the Mount Carmel, IL 62863 area.  No problem at all helping load on my end if necessary.

Please bid with confidence.  I've been on eBay since 2002 and I've sold several tractors, cars and trucks.  I try to make every transaction as pleasant and trouble free as possible.  If anyone has any questions about anything please feel free to contact me.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR is ready to take a bite out of the Corvette Z06 [w/video]

Fri, May 8 2015

The Dodge Viper ACR is back, and as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles tells it, it's the most venomous breed ever born. Before you get too excited, the 8.4-liter V10 produces 645 horsepower; five more than the standard Viper and five less than the supercharged Chevrolet Corvette Z06. It's unclear why Dodge didn't extract more from the huge engine, although we somehow imagine that certain people in Maranello, Italy had a say in the matter. Instead of blessing the ACR variant with bunches of extra output, Dodge instead turned to an aggressive aerodynamics package that it claims delivers nearly a ton of downforce at the Viper's maximum speed of 177 miles per hour. The total aero package includes an adjustable, twin-element, carbon-fiber rear wing, carbon-fiber diffuser, an extendable front splitter, and dive planes. Those big louvers on the hood? Yeah, they're removable, too. The "race-tuned" suspension uses coil-over Bilstein shocks that offer ten different settings and up to three inches of height adjustment. Kumho Ecsta V720 tires were built specifically for the Viper ACR, and come in 355/30 in back and 295/25 in front, with 19-inch wheels at all four corners. Along with the aero improvements, Dodge is claiming the Viper can pull a race-car-like 1.5Gs in higher-speed turns. Carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers add the stopping power that's greater or equal to the ACR's cornering performance. Dodge was also keen to reduce weight, taking some rather dramatic measures in the effort. The stereo has just three speakers, while the electric function was removed from the seats. Even the carpet has been replaced with a "lightweight" alternative. Finally, Dodge is offering up the innovative 1 of 1 customization it pioneered with the Viper GT earlier this year. That means that not only can you get the fastest Viper ever built, but it'll be entirely your own when you take delivery.

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.

2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Quick Spin

Thu, Jun 18 2015

"Scat Pack" is plucked from The Big Book of Dodge Nameplates to describe what is basically the average of the Charger R/T and Charger SRT 392. Unnecessary horsepower always seems to go down better with a dose of heritage. If you think it's a silly name, just be thankful Dodge didn't call it an S/RT or an R/T-S. In previous years, a similar formulation was known as the SRT8 Super Bee. Going by another name, it's still as sweet and wears the same hurried-looking pollinator on the grille. We do wonder: What has displeased him so, and why does he have wings and wheels? The packaging is at least fresh. All Chargers get updates for 2015, including improved interiors and a Dart-on-steroids exterior redo. The new lines work especially well on the more aggressive models, including this Scat Pack car. Like the Super Bee before it, the Scat Pack gets the 6.4-liter engine from SRT 392; for 2015 it gets a slight output boost to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, respective increases of 15 and 5. It does without the SRT three-mode suspension and comes with cloth seats (leather is an option) to keep the price down. The Scat Pack also has slightly smaller Brembo front brakes, narrower wheels, and different rubber. It does, however, cost eight grand less and is just as quick in a straight line. Intriguing. Driving Notes Scat Pack cars get an electronically controlled active exhaust that we'd call hyperactive. It's loud all the time, opening its widest at startup, idle, and when you ask for any appreciable amount of power. Sport mode supposedly makes a difference, but we couldn't discern loud from louder. It's a delicious and appropriate loudness, with a brassy trumpet tone to it, and the engine makes top-fuel noises at full tilt. The squeal of the rear tires can be heard from every stoplight no matter the road conditions. A light touch avoids leaving a mark if you're so inclined. We weren't. When the tires eventually smear into the realm of traction, this thing is pretty quick – hitting 60 miles per hour takes 4.5 seconds. There's also an adjustable launch control mode if you want to cut out some of the wheelspin. The eight-speed transmission shifts smoothly. Quicker, more-palpable shifts are had in Sport mode, but occasionally the transmission still needs a moment to drop down from seventh or eighth when you mash the throttle. Despite its two overdrive gears, this Charger is still loud on the highway. In a good way. Probably.
