The 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 coupe comes with a 6.1L Hemi V8 engine that makes an impressive 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This year, a five-speed automatic with AutoStick manual control was the only transmission offered. The mid-sized Challenger has a back bench seat officially large enough for three, and with the long doors access is better than many coupes. Its trunk, at more than 16 cubic feet, is comparable to that of mid-size sedans. A four-wheel independent suspension underpins the Challenger, providing a smooth ride and crisp, capable handling. Front and rear stabilizer bars are standard, along with Bilstein monotube gas shocks, while big Brembo brakes--four-piston, front and back--provide impressive stopping power. Big 20-inch wheels are standard, mounted with four-season tires; Goodyear F1 Supercar three-season tires are available. Carbon-fiber-style hood stripes are part of the SRT8's paint scheme, and it's only available in three colors: Hemi Orange, Bright Silver Metallic, and Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat. The Challenger SRT8, according to Dodge, will be able to accelerate to 60 mph in the low five-second range, it can do the quarter-mile in 13.41 seconds, and get from a standstill to 100 mph and back in less than 17 seconds. Equally impressive, it's able to stop from 60 mph in about 100 feet. Nearly all the expected luxury and convenience features, including heated leather-trimmed seats and Kicker high-performance speakers, are standard on the Challenger, with the only significant options being a sunroof and the MyGig Infotainment System, which includes a 20-gigabyte hard-drive-based music system, USB interface, a navigation system, six-disc changer, and UConnect hands-free calling interface.

This car has 10,700 miles and was very well taken care of. It has seen rain twice in its life. I am the original owner of the car and really don't want to sell but job forces the sale.

The car has two very small scratches on drivers fender hardly noticeable. I have all the original paperwork and window sticker. These are numbered cars and I believe they will be collector's items in the future. My car is #1375  It runs like it came off the factory floor. With an average of little over 2000 miles per year the car still looks and smells new.  Car cost $53k new.....Please ask questions

I can help to arrange shipping. But car has to be paid for in full before I will release title and car.

Pony-car sales war: Mustang vs. Camaro vs. Challenger [UPDATE]

Fri, Jul 3 2015

Update: An earlier version of this story misstated the 2015 Mustang's weight when compared with previous models. Additionally, we have added comments from Chevrolet in the text. The Ford Mustang has blown past the Chevy Camaro as America's best-selling pony car, and in June, it wasn't even close. The 'Stang outsold the Camaro 11,719 to 8,611 cars. The Camaro remained ahead of the Dodge Challenger, which sold 6,845 units. Even though the Camaro did post an 11.5-percent sales improvement in June, the competition is arguably stronger than at anytime since the 1970s muscle-car era. The Mustang's sales leapt a whopping 53.6 percent, while the Challenger saw a gain of 56 percent. Several factors are weighing down Camaro sales, including its lame duck status. Chevy is launching a new generation of the Camaro this year that's more than 200 pounds lighter, offers a new turbo four-cylinder engine option, and has a nicer interior than the outgoing model. Put simply: wait a few months and you can get a better car. It's also unlikely Chevy will jack up the price much, as it's historically kept the Camaro within reach of everyday enthusiasts. While Chevy fans wait in anticipation for their new sports car, Ford and Dodge have downshifted. The new Mustang, which went on sale last year, is faster and more sophisticated than its predecessor. It also offers a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which Ford has credited for the Mustang's recent uptick and makes up 36 percent of the car's sales, Ford analyst Erich Merkle said. View 17 Photos June's performance allowed the Mustang to widen its sales gap with the Camaro this year. Through the first five months, Ford sold 68,290 Mustangs, a 54.4-percent increased compared with 2014. Chevy sold 42,593 Camaros, an 8.7-percent decrease. The Challenger – long the No. 3 pony car in sales volume – has seen its sales surge 41 percent this year to 37,011 units. Spokesman Monte Doran said Chevy expected that 2015 would be a "relatively soft year" for the Camaro. "Mustang is taking advantage of years' worth of pent-up demand for an independent rear suspension," he said. "When Camaro introduced an IRS, in 2009, it helped make us the best-selling performance car in America.

Rare Dodge Daytona found in barn heads for auction

Tue, Dec 15 2015

An American icon is headed to Mecum's Kissimmee, Florida auction next January. Charlie Lyons, owner of a restoration shop focused on old Chrysler products, got a lead on a two-owner 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that had been sitting in a barn in Glenwood, Alabama for decades. Dodge built 560 Charger Daytonas (Canada and US production) to homologate the model for NASCAR racing, and then that car and the successor Plymouth Superbird terrorized NASCAR tracks for 18 months. The production car, however, 18 feet long and considered ugly, wasn't popular at the time, so many were beat up or simply disappeared. Around 385 are thought to exist today. Lyons said the first owner of this car was the town judge, who bought it for his wife. In 1974 the second owner - just 18 years old at the time - bought it for $1,800 so he could drive it to Panama City, Florida, for Spring Break, and had flames painted on the front fenders and the scallops trimmed in white. Otherwise this barn find is complete and stock, with matching numbers throughout, R4 Charger Red paint and a white tail, bucket seats, center console, three-speed TorqueFlite automatic, and 20,553 miles on the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8. Hot Rod has the long story of how Lyons found the car and convinced the owner to sell for what he jokingly called "a shoebox full of folded money." Hagerty says a concours-worthy model can command $262,000. Mecum's pre-sale estimate for this Charger Daytona is $150,000 to $180,000. That sounds steep, but Mecum did sell another perfectly restored Hemi-powered 1969 Charger Daytona for $900,000 at this year's Kissimmee auction to actor David Spade. Related Video:

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
