Vehicle came out of Auburn Indiana. Purchased at the Auction America auction at Auburn Auction Park. Previous owner did a body-on restoration on the vehicle sometime in the early 2000s and has kept meticulous records of almost every single part purchased for the Challenger (I have a folder two inches thick full of receipts/documents/service history, etc.).  It has been mechanically completely rebuilt so it runs/drives good and can be driven anywhere.

Vehicle has a VERY SOLID BODY. Doors open and close perfectly. Body is very straight down the sides with very few if any ripples. Seems to have all original body panels except for one lower quarter patch by rear driver's side quarter panel, with new sheetmetal, otherwise the rest seems to be all original. This is a VERY NICE car and has had a quality paintjob done to it a few years ago that has held up very well and looks fantastic.

Under the hood lies a COMPLETELY REBUILT and PROFESSIONALLY ASSEMBLED and built 440ci/375hp MAGNUM motor that has been upgraded with a ton of name brand parts and go-fast goodies. Everything looks virtually brand new under the hood and is definitely a sight to behold. Most if not all receipts for parts purchased are available as well. Upgrades include aluminum intake, Holley 4bbl. double-pumper carburetor, MSD billet distributor, MSD style control box, performance plugs/wires/coil, Flowmaster dual exhaust, and tons of accent goodies as well.

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears. Brakes have been completely overhauled and stop on a dime! Car feels great, handles the road nicely, sounds great and is very responsive with a little play in the steering wheel. I would not hesitate to fly in and drive the car home anywhere in the country, as it is that reliable.

Interior is virtually all stock with custom red/black inserts in the seats (I CAN HAVE THEM REDONE TO STOCK FOR EXTRA FEE IF DESIRED). NO rips in the seats. Excellent headliner. Carpet is very nice. Door panels very nice. Dash is good with a couple of surface cracks. Good steering wheel. Very good console. Overall a beautifully presentable interior for a high-end driver.

Chrome is fairly nice overall. Front bumper guards were removed on the car to give it a cleaner look.

Underside actually appears to be in PRETTY SOLID shape throughout. Floorboards appear very nice and solid with NO holes or large rot areas anywhere I was able to find. A couple of areas have undercoating that is peeling, other than that they are very nice.  Frame and frame rails appear EXCELLENT. VERY SOLID trunk as well, with full size spare as well as an extra rally rim, and jack.

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is overall VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT shape with BEAUTIFUL shine but is not brand new and has a few minor imperfections from driving. Some minor chips here and there. Not working: clock, gauges seem to be working fine otherwise, perhaps may need a bulb or two replaced where needed. Missing: fender tag, dome light plastic lens, a/c parts (removed but available). Trunk could use some detailing. Front bumper is presentable but could be replaced if you really wanted it to pop. Not much else I can fault on this car other than really neat picky stuff.

I am sure there are several other things I am forgetting at the moment, so overall she is not perfect and to do it justice should be gently restored to your liking, or you can just drive it as is. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 40 years old so keep that in mind.

If you just want a BEAUTIFUL LOOKING AND SUPER FUN DRIVER that runs/drives FANTASTIC, then this is the car for you. If you want a concourse correct show car, it will need a considerable amount of work to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Chrysler recalling over 280k minivans because airbags may deploy on wrong side

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall for some 2013 Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Ram C/V Tradesman vans built between May 10, 2012 and June 7, 2013. These vehicles may have a software error that would cause the wrong side (opposite side) airbags to deploy in a crash. With this defect, a left-side impact would cause the right-side airbag to deploy, etc.
The recall affects 281,500 vehicles in total: 224k in the US, 49,300 in Canada, 2,900 in Mexico and 5,300 in other locations. Chrysler will notify owners of effected vehicles, and reflash the offending occupant restraint control module to resolve the issue. Scroll down to read the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration press release.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

John Schneider's General Lee Dodge Charger up for auction

Thu, Jun 25 2015

Over 150 years after it was first adopted, the Confederate flag is disappearing from license plates, state-legislature flagpoles, and even toy cars across the American South. While some are ready to bury those Stars and Bars forever as a symbol of racism and slavery, others will miss them as an emblem of freedom. Regardless of where you stand, the emergence of this particular vehicle on the auction block couldn't have come at a more poignant time. It's a 1969 Dodge Charger, and as you can see it's been done up just like the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard. While it may not be one of the cars used in the original television series, it's not without its provenance. The vehicle is the last of four that were customized by John Schneider, the actor who – long after the rebel flag ceases to fly – will forever be remembered for his portrayal of Bo Duke on that timeless television show. It's painted orange, emblazoned with the number 01 on the doors, the words "Bo's General Lee" above each window, and that controversial flag on the roof. It also features signatures and messages inscribed by Schneider, as well as by Sonny Shroyer (who played Deputy Enos Strate on the show), and by sportscaster and former pro basketball player Jalen Rose who once owned the car. It appeared alongside Schneider in commercials and films, and in the pages of the Mopar Collector's Guide. Now it's set to be sold off to the highest bidder this weekend by Invaluable Auctions and Julien's Auctions, where it's expected to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000 – assuming the latest controversies don't hinder its chances.
