1970 Dodge Challenger 440-6 Pak. Non-numbers matching engine with 2,700 miles on it. 1970 Date coded engine. 1968 or 1967 18-spline 833 4-speed transmission (non-numbers matching), Dana 60 rear.  Pistol grip 4-speed. The vehicle is for sale locally so it may end at any time. I will try to get some more pictures up as time allows. The interior is in great shape, blue and white. There is some damage on the right rear quarter panel where someone backed into the car and took off at in a parking lot but it is an easy repair for someone with hammer and dolly. It has a 1.1/8 front sway bar. 7/8 rear sway bar. Power disc brakes front. Drum in the rear. Power fast-ratio steering. All the lights work.   There is a SLIGHT leak in the power steering reservoir but I have not looked for it because it is just a weep.

If you have any questions: 970-769-9354. I am in Durango, Colorado.

All the sheet metal is good. Rear quarters, trunk riser, trunk floor and trunk extensions, and the front floor pan were PROFFESIONALLY replaced. I am trying to get more pictures up. It I changed the ignition system to MSD. Wires, Distributor and MSD box. I also changed the cast iron intake for and aluminum and the water pump and housing to an aluminum also with an 8 impeller water pump. I had the bumpers and other chrome re-Chromed. It is just a good driving car and fun to take places. The say pics say a thousand words. I will try to get more put up.

On Aug-24-13 at 15:56:48 PDT, seller added the following information:

The VIN tag matches the door tag, matches the radiator yoke numbers, matches the fender tags, matches the cowl numbers, matches the title, matches what is on my insurance card. JH23V0EXXXXX. There is no build or broadcast sheet. The rear-end gear ratio is 4:10. The car runs and drives, brakes work great, steering is straight and true, it doesn't pull. All the lights work. It doesn't overheat and it doesn't make any weird noises. I drive it locally every once in awhile.

It does have a slight exhaust leak on the passenger side between the exhaust manifold and the down pipe. I have extra down pipe gaskets for it but have been to busy to change them and it is slight.

On Oct-12-13 at 12:59:47 PDT, seller added the following information:

Ok...I figured out that it is not the windshield wiper switch....I think it is the motor?? It has a clicking sound under the dash when I turn the windshield wiper switch on....so I think it is the motor.  I have a LOT of fun just listening to Fleetwood Mac and cruising it easy. If I had the money I'd change the trans to a Passion Performance Aluminum Overdrive....and I would adjust the carbs...or find someone who could. I live at 6,500 feet and it runs rich. You are welcome to come view the car and drive it if you like....but it would cost you $100 to drive it around the block (no joy riders just trying to tear it up). It has a solid body and for a 440 it handles like it is on tracks with the front and rear sway bars, the boxed frame, the wider tires and wheels, and the fully welded K-frame.

2019 Dodge Durango raids the SRT parts bin for updates

Fri, Jul 13 2018

Fiat Chrysler will squeeze some extra excitement from the upcoming 2019 Dodge Durango, by providing some modest updates. They include giving the three-row SUV new colors and broadening the use of elements of the Durango R/T and SRT performance models, among other upgrades when it goes on sale in the fall. It'll still be offered in five models — SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T and the SRT — with the same 295-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 as the standard engine. For 2019, the GT model will get the SRT and R/T's performance front fascia and LED fog lamps. It also has the option of an SRT-inspired hood with center air inlet duct and two heat extractors. On the Citadel models, second-row captain's chairs will be standard. There's also a new integrated trailer brake on models equipped with the Trailer Tow Package. New 20-inch wheel designs are available on various trims, and an available 825-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system for the Citadel, R/T and SRT. Three new exterior color options appear, too: F8 Green, Destroyer Gray and Reactor Blue. SRT buyers can now opt for red seat belts and lightweight Brembo brakes with two-piece rotors. Its Hemi V8 still makes 475 horsepower as it did last year. The R/T model, meanwhile, continues with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, also available on the Citadel, making 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Sepia leather seats are a new option. Order books are now open, but there's no word yet on price. Related Video:

Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures

Tue, Jun 23 2020

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski  Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.

The Dodge Demon sheds some weight in pursuit of speed

Thu, Jan 19 2017

The Dodge Demon teaser train isn't stopping until it hits New York City. In case you need a reminder, the upcoming Demon is the more pedestrian Hellcat's stripped-down and hopped-up sibling that promises to be built for the sole purpose of traveling a quarter-mile mile quicker than any of its rivals. The weekly video rollout on www.ifyouknowyouknow.com continues with the latest sneak peak, "Reduction." While there were early rumors that the Demon may pack an all-wheel-drive system and in turn gain enough grip to rotate the Earth underneath it, Dodge and SRT look to be going down a simpler route. The press release reveals the Demon is 200 pounds lighter than the standard Hellcat. It's unclear where all that weight is coming from, but at nearly 4,500 pounds, the Challenger Hellcat could stand to go on a bit of a diet. The video hints at adjustments to the wheels, steering, suspension, and brakes, as well as some modifications to the car's interior. Don't be surprised if the Demon is a bare bones stripper model with no back seat, no A/C, and no radio. Who needs music when you have 2.4-liter supercharger and a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 making sweet love under the hood?
