1970 Dodge Challenger Pro Touring
This is a one of a kind built Pro Touring 1970 Dodge Challenger designed by Eric Brockmeyer with over $200,000
invested. This car features XV Motorsports Level II Suspension front and back, Level II brakes, a new Indy
Cylinder Heads all aluminum 528 cubic inch Street Legend Hemi, functional T/A hood with factory air cleaner and a
host of unique features. This was a ground up restoration with a real 1970 Challenger body disassembled and strip
at the start of the build. Paint and body work on this car are show quality. The vehicle took three years to
build and has 900 miles since the build. Never been shown or presented in magazines.
Make no mistake, this isn’t an amateur build with a few bolt-ons, this is a high end custom build with best of
the best components and unmatched engineering to deliver ride quality on par with modern performance vehicles.
Started with a rust free 1970 original Dodge Challenger, removed all the glass and completely disassembled the
complete car. All the undercoating was stripped from the undercarriage. Then all the paint was removed and soda
blasted the complete body. Cars by Haines painted the complete car and undercarriage Dodge Hemi Orange Pearl. The
bottom of the car looks and shines like the top.
The car is powered by a balanced and blueprinted Indy Cylinder Heads all aluminum 528 cubic inch Street Legend
Hemi. The engine is topped with a 850 Mighty Demon which puts out 730HP @ 6600 RPM with 660 Torque @ 4800 RPM on
92 octane pump gas.
The engine is mated to a hydraulically actuated Keisler TKO 5-Speed transmission which transfers power via an
aluminum driveshaft to a built 8-3/4 rear with a limited slip differential, alloy axles and 3.90:1 gear set.
Exhaust is handled by a set of, custom built by hand by James Vega, headers with 3” pipe out of stainless steel
with electric cutouts. The complete exhaust system, from the headers to the exhaust tips are stainless steel and
the cutouts allow you to adjust the exhaust to the sound you want.
The engine bay also features a Be Cool aluminum radiator with twin electric fans, March Serpentine system with all
billet components including the hood and trunk hinges.
Crockett’s Automotive provided the fuel system starting with a custom made stainless race baffled fuel tank by
Rick’s Tanks, El Paso, Texas. The tank has a 450 LPH fuel pump located inside the tank. While at Crockett’s
all new glass was installed with electric windows and door locks and the rest of the body parts were hung and
aligned.
This car features top of the line XV Motorsports Level II suspension system. Up front, this includes and aluminum
K-Member, billet Aluminum CNC’d upper control arms, forged aluminum spindles and lower control arms, quick ratio
variable rate power steering with adjustable bump steer, NASCAR style adjustable splined tubular sway bar with
billet aluminum arms and mounts.
The rear is XV Motorsports Level II suspension which is a three link design with adjustable panhard bar, billet
aluminum trailing arms, adjustable third link and an adjustable splined tubular sway bar with billet arms mounted
through the frame rails.
Both front and rear shock absorbers are custom calved, single adjustable nitrogen charged monotube coil-overs. The
coil-over feature allows for adjustable ride height. These shocks are road race quality, custom valved by
application, with matching spring rates that have been professionally tested on the track and street.
To allow the suspension to work its fullest, the car has a XV Motorsports Chassis stiffening system installed. The
system includes laser cut sub frame connectors contoured to the floor pan, inner fender braces.
Brakes are road race quality featuring 14” 6-piston in front and 13” 2-piston in the rear. Rotors are true two
piece design with billet hats and slotted discs. The pistons are sized to the application including the matched
master cylinder and use of hydro-boost. Since the brakes were professionally engineered for this car the result is
a vehicle that brakes hard and flat. System is plumbed with braided stainless hoses, stainless hard lines and high
temp fluid.
Wheels are custom Boze three piece billet aluminum 18” X 9.5” in front and 18” X 10” in rear with275/35-18
and 295/35-18 BF Goodrich KDW high performance tires
For creature comforts this car has a lot to make the ride more enjoyable. The interior is all custom covered in
leather, features wool carpet and sound deadener throughout. The complete interior was designed and built from
scratch by AJ at Street Seats. The complete interior was custom built to the design by Eric Brockmeyer with a cost
of over $30,000.00.
The interior features Corbeau seats, heater, air conditioning, tilt column from Ididit, Pioneer Touch Screen
outrageous stereo system with multiple amps and speakers , billet pedals’, leather wrapped billet steering wheel,
alarm system, powered door locks, power windows. Trunk on this car is fully carpeted with leather accents.
The car has five point harness seat belts, which allows the participation in driving schools and open track events
– the real deal.
This is undoubtedly one of the highest quality pro-touring, restomod Challenger ever built. Since XV Motorsports

Dodge recalls 27k Darts for bracket that can disrupt transmission module

Thu, Sep 17 2015

Dodge is recalling 27,520 examples of the 2013-2015 Dart with dual-clutch gearboxes. The mounting bracket for the transmission control module can affect the part's operation and cause the compacts to suddenly shift into neutral. According to the automaker, 23,688 of them are in the US, 3,376 in Canada, 5 in Mexico, and 451 elsewhere. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports these examples carry build dates between February 24, 2012, and June 16, 2015. There are also no reports of accidents or injuries. Because of the way the bracket is mounted, the part can put too much force on the control module's circuit board and cause it to shift out of gear. The engine and airbags remain operable if this happens. To fix things, dealers will install a redesigned mount and replacement module. Related Video: Statement: Mounting Bracket September 14, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is recalling an estimated 23,688 cars in the U.S. to replace certain control modules and mounting brackets that may contribute to a loss of motive power. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. An FCA US investigation prompted by a small number of warranty claims discovered a control-module mounting bracket may apply too much force and disrupt the function of a circuit board within the module. This condition, unique to certain cars equipped with dual dry-clutch transmissions (DDCT), may cause the transmission to shift into neutral. However, the engine remains on and the vehicle's air-bags, as well as other safety features, are unaffected. The condition may also be preceded by the illumination of a dashboard warning light. Customers who observe this are urged to contact their dealers. The campaign is limited to certain 2013-2015 Dodge Darts equipped with DDCTs. Additional vehicles will be recalled in Canada (3,376), Mexico (five) and outside the NAFTA region (451). Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed free of charge. Service will entail installation of a redesigned mounting bracket and replacement of the control module. Customers with additional questions may call the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat revealed [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Almost immediately after we drove the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, we began wondering: what's next? Pumping 707 horsepower into the Challenger seemed so crazy - and so intoxicating - we just assumed that Dodge would try that trick again.
Rumors swirled about a Charger Hellcat. Frankly it makes even more sense than the Challenger version. The Charger is a bigger car, and Dodge has never been shy about dropping monster engines under its hood. Hell (cat), we've seen Charger mules running around town that appeared to be the super sedan.
And finally, it's here. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat was revealed today at a preview event near Detroit, and it will be a centerpiece of the Chrysler display this weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.
