Here is a HOT ROD that your friends will envy you for having.  This has the best of the both the HOT ROD worlds.   It is an attention getter of the classic old hot rods of the 60's but the performance and handling of the latest sports cars out there.   At 80 MPH on the highway, you will be cruising at around 1400 RPMS resulting in about 17 MPG.   This makes this an awesome day trip cruiser to the lake, out to eat or wherever you desire.   However, if you are looking for sheer power and wheel spinning torque, this car has more than most avid drivers can handle.  I assure you, this vehicle will get away from you in a heart beat if you don't know how to drive one, and even if you do you should leave it up to the professionals on the track.

The first owner of this vehicle was a wealthy older gentleman who put most the miles on it.  Approximately 26,000 to 27,000 miles to be exact.  The second owner had for only a short period as he was a private contractor for Iraq and not long after having purchased, picked up another contract job that was sending him overseas for 12 to 18 months.   So, that leads to me...   I am a conservative and cautious buyer.   I purchased approximately 3 years ago with around 29,000 miles and have put around 1,000 miles a year on it driving to and from my office.

I religiously changed the oil in the spring and fall with Mobile One Ultra Synthetic oil.   2 years ago I put new brake pads and rotors on the monster, changed the plugs and replaced the tires.   Since then, I have put approximately 1500 miles on this car.   The reason I have decided to sell is because we recently moved out in the country and our driveway is approximately 1/2 mile long and is dusty and dirty.   I can't keep the car clean and I have to spend 25 minutes cleaning and wiping down with Windex every time I leave the home.  So, time to move on to some other toys and can get dirty and not fret about.

ABOUT THIS CAR:

Never been in an accident.  (NOTE:  Carfax reports an incident in 2004.  Seller advised what this was for but I have unfortunately forgot.  I own an insurance agency and when we run a prior insurance claim history check, we don't find any previous insurance claims.
Has the 3M clear bra on the front and mirrors.
Black racing stripes added aftermarket.
Upgraded exhaust, no idea what it is but sounds like a Nascar and much more aggressive than stock Viper.
This car looks virtually new with only very minor blemishes near the wheel wells from small rocks and stones that any car with 32,000 miles would have.
There is a small blemish on the back hood but is almost invisible after having used touch up paint (1" by 1/16")   Car Hauler nicked corner of trunk with wrench while undoing tie downs while I was taking delivery.
Never smoked in and have Viper OEM floor mats.

* NOTE:  Drivers seat the outside edge is slightly pushed in, most likely from getting in and out of the car.   It has zero impact on comfort or where your back rests.

*  And finally, there is a small rattle coming from the drivers side exhaust pipe when vehicle is stand still and idling.  Most likely an easy fix by tightening down a bracket or something on the pipe.   OTHERWISE, VEHICLE IS 100% FUNCTIONING AND RUNS STRONG!   BID WITH CONFIDENCE.   SEE MY EBAY RATING OF 100%.

Highway To Hellcat: Dallas to Vegas with 2,000 HP

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Fort Davis, TX. Early November. Late Sunday afternoon. The 1,200 residents of this small town are using their day of rest to quietly enjoy the breeze rolling off the hills. There's an older couple walking down the street, holding hands. A young lady working at a general store, where milkshakes and antacids are purchased at the same counter. It's a peaceful, quaint scene, right down to the tumbleweed rolling across the street and the rickety wooden porches outside the old storefronts. I hit the throttle of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat while turning left onto the road leading toward the town square, sending the sedan's rear end swinging to the right with a few puffs of rubbery smoke. I coast down to the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit and spot the line of Challengers, Chargers, and Vipers in my rear-view mirror, the drivers all mimicking my quick jolt of enthusiasm before pulling up the reigns on their V8s and V10s and idling into Fort Davis. Our posse would roll some 5,000 horsepower of pure American muscle into that small Texas town that day. It was only the first stop on an epic journey that would take us from Dallas to Las Vegas, on a winding route down toward El Paso, up through New Mexico, Arizona, and finally north into Nevada, ending at the ritzy Palazzo casino and hotel on the Vegas strip. It was an opportunity to see parts of America I never knew existed, and a chance to bond with some American cars that until recently, I sort of failed to understand. And most importantly it was an opportunity to drive really, really hard. Charging Through Texas Unless you've driven across it, it's hard to understand the massive space that is Texas. In places, scanning 360 degrees of horizon reveals absolutely nothing. Nothing. On its own, driving from Dallas to El Paso covers some 630 miles. Veer south to Fort Davis and you'll add another 70 onto that, not including the 75-mile Davis Mountain Scenic Loop where I found bliss behind the wheel of this insanely powerful sedan. I always expected to like the Charger Hellcat – comfortable seating for four (five in a pinch), equipped with the latest tech, wrapped in a stylish yet muscular body, like a quarterback in a tux. And it moves. The supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 pumps out 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which makes for one quick sedan, especially considering its heft.

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.

Ward's announces 10 Best Engines 2015

Wed, Dec 10 2014

Ward's Auto has named its 10 Best Engines for 2015, covering a range of powerplants from fuel-sippers to fire-breathers. As with past years, forced-induction reigns supreme, with seven of the ten engines featuring a turbo or supercharger. This year is slightly different, though, as two of the seven blown engines are turbocharged three-cylinder mills, from the Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper. They're joined by the 2.0-liter turbo four from the Volvo S60, the 1.8-liter turbo four from the Volkswagen Jetta and the 2.0-liter boxer from the Subaru WRX. BMW and Chrysler were the only marques to be named to this year's list twice, with the electric motor from the i3 joining the Mini's three-pot, and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee repping the diesel crowd, alongside a certain supercharged monster. Hyundai also took a prize with a zero-emissions powertrain, with the Tucson FCV's 100-kilowatt fuel cell making the list (apparently Ward's is quite generous with what it deems an "engine"). Rounding out the list are two Autoblog favorites, each displacing 6.2 liters, but producing their power very differently. On the one hand, Chevrolet's overhead-valve, 455-horsepower V8, found in the Corvette, makes its power the old fashioned way. And in the other corner, we have one of the most exciting engines of the year – the 707-hp, 6.2-liter, supercharged Hellcat V8, featured so prominently in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat. "We spend a lot of time reading the powertrain tea leaves throughout the auto industry, and we're proud that this year's list is a microcosm of all the latest innovation coming from automakers," said Ward's Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter in a statement. "It's not just a list for enthusiasts or for environmentalists," he says. "There's something for every vehicle shopper and every budget. All the powertrains on this list deliver a first-rate driving experience," Winter added. Scroll down for the full list from Ward's, and let us know which engines you think belong and which should have been included in this year's rankings.
