Dodge Viper 2006 Srt 10 Red 2 Door Coupe 8.3l on 2040-cars
Kailua Kona, Hawaii, United States
This hand crafted red 2006 SRT 10 Viper coup is an astonishing result of engineering, at the 2424 mileage mark, it is still a new vehicle. I purchased this Viper with 1800 miles on it in 2007. I had the car tested and certified by a professional inspection service before I purchased it. It was mechanically and physically perfect with out even a scratch. The car fax was clear. I purchased it as a collectable and stored it since under cover in a climatized warehouse. It is registered as storage status and is not plated. This Viper has only been driven enough to insure optimal performance and condition. The engine ran monthly has not since been raced nor have the tires ever broke traction. I have been a very meticulous owner, no one has ever smoked in this car. The only reason it is being offered is because I am selling the warehouse I store it and other collectables in.
Each of the 22,000 Vipers are hand built. The limited production is about 1000 per year 500 of which are convertibles. Due to their rarity people really look as you drive by. In 1989 the first unveiled Viper design was after the legendary Cobra directly inspired by the late Carroll Shelby. Each year after considerable driver and professional feed back each model has continual engineered upgrades.
This 2006 third generation Viper with over 500 horse power and 13” wide stock rear tires to handle that power is an awesome site. Its power train includes a fuel injected 8.3 liter, 505 cu.in. 10 cylinder engine that produces 525 foot pounds of torque, a 6 speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential with a 3.07 axle ratio. Factory and track ratings are just as impressive, 0 to 60 M.P.H. IN JUST OVER 3 SECONDS, 1/4 MILE AT 120 M.P.H., TOP SPEED JUST UNDER 200 M.P.H.. With 14 inch rotors and racing class anti-lock breaking this Viper can stop while every one else is just thinking about it.
Other options include an AM/FM, 6 CD, 7 speaker surround sound system, power windows and mirrors, Air conditioning, a 220 M.P.H. speedometer (if you need to look) , security alarm system, (a trickle charger to keep it working), Duel side exhaust system, and engine oil cooler.
This Viper’s value has increased the past couple of years, Vipers due to their limited production are one of the few cars that have gone up in value.
There is not one negative thing to say about this Viper, it is flawless. You be getting a new car at a used car price. |

Dodge Charger Hellcat hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds on drag radials?
Thu, 02 Oct 2014The Dodge boys and their cousins from SRT have shoehorned the same 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8 into both the Dodge Challenger and Charger. The former being a two-door, it's lighter than the latter four-door sedan. So it would stand to reason that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would be the quicker of the two, right?
Only that's not necessarily proving to be the case. On stock rubber, yes, the coupe beats the sedan: Dodge quotes a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds for the Charger SRT Hellcat and 3.5 for the Challenger. Same gap across the quarter-mile: 11 seconds flat for the Charger versus 10.8 seconds for the Challenger. But according to recent reports, the story changes when you put both on drag radials.
While visiting Chrysler HQ in Auburn Hills, MI, TorqueNews.com caught wind of performance figures for the Charger Hellcat on drag tires: 0-60 in a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds and a quarter-mile in just 10.7. The latter figure just barely pips the Hellcat-powered Challenger's NHRA-certified figure of 10.8, making the Charger not only the fastest sedan on the market, but also the fastest muscle car. What isn't immediately clear, however, is whether the drag radials in question have any tread on them and are street-legal, or if they're pure slicks confined to a closed strip.
Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
Chrysler recalls small number of 2013-2014 cars and trucks over engine debris
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Chrysler is recalling a small number cars over issues with their 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. The recall, which affects 522 examples of its 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models, as well as 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot CUVs has to do with potential debris in the balance shaft bearings.
The abrasive stuff can cause the oil pressure to drop, which could lead to the engine stalling or outright failure. This situation could at best leave drivers stranded and at worst lead to a crash.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners, who will need to report in to have the balance shaft module replaced. All repairs are naturally free of charge. Scroll down for the bulletin from NHTSA.
