Missed the Mecum auction in Houston, so I am listing on EBAY Motors for the serious collector wanting a one of a kind vehicle in their stable. This is John Hennessey's first Viper Venom 600 and one of his first vipers to hit the roads.. It is serial number 001 and had been in Houston since new. The car has history and racing experience. This is the vehicle that John and Roy took to the Silver State Classic on a trailer ... placed second in the unlimited class with an average speed of 165 mph ... and then drove it back to Houston & showed the world his motor was bullet proof. Don't let the "600" fool you, this car had much more HP and torque than the old magazines listed for the other 600's. I am the second owner. The original owner is still here in Houston and gave quite a rundown on the history with John and the Terpstra Brothers back in the beginning of Hennessey Motor Sports. The original miles on the odometer DO NOT represent the actual miles on the motor and drive train. This vehicle has only been maintained by Hennessy Performance Engineering, Northwest Dodge, or TNT motors (now defunct). I have most of the receipts. This car is signed by John Hennessey and is also listed in the International Viper Registry. She is still scary fast and as much torque as horse power. A/C was replaced right before I purchased the car, blows very cold. The computer was replaced in 07', wiper module replaced, wiper motor replaced, top end of motor freshened and new racing head gaskets installed, half shafts replaced, breaks gone thru, new cross drilled and slotted rotors, injectors checked, all bushings - grommets - washers - and rubber mounts replaced a few years ago at Hennessey, new rack & pinion steering assembly replaced along with the tie rod ends, new cats installed in 06', new steering pump - hoses - and solid racing bracket installed in 12', rear end rebuilt and serviced in 06', both side exhaust covers replaced with OEM new ones in 2012. This list keeps going, other than a real good paint job and new tires - shes ready for the car shows. I have many extra parts, a new/spare front fascia, all of the original accessories - manuals - and window stickers before it was shipped to Hennessey. I have more pictures and will answer your questions.

Watch 1,414-hp worth of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat do stereo burnouts

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

When Dodge announced that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, automotive enthusiasts were shocked. The company had promised us that it would be powerful, but no one expected for the muscle car to post even larger numbers than the range-topping Viper.
Car and Driver recently got ahold of two new SRTs and decided that the only proper way to show them off was by lighting up the rears in stereo. With a combined 1,414 horsepower, the pair of them make burnouts from the Hellcat V8 look as easy as breathing. The tires start spinning at the slightest provocation and just don't stop. If you buy one of these, it looks like you and the employees at the local tire store are going to be on a first name basis.
Scroll down to watch these two Hellcats to lay down enough smoke to alert the local hook and ladder trucks.

Dodge performance trio thrashed on Roadkill

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Of all the shows that Motor Trend does, Roadkill is probably the last one we'd pick to evaluate the latest performance automobiles. That's not a slight against David Freiburger or Mike Finnegan, who host the show: they're certified gear-heads and the go-to guys when it comes to hot rods, rat rods and anything grungier than it is shiny. But as exemplary as they are of Detroit muscle, the Charger Hellcat, Challenger Hellcat and Viper are also shiny new pieces of metal. Still, since it will now be sponsoring the show, someone at Dodge apparently thought it would be a good idea to hand Freiburger and Finnegan the keys to the company's top performance models. So to ring the best out of them, they solicited help from some of their colleagues at MT, gained access to a closed-down air strip, devised as many ways as they could to destroy the tires, and proceeded to set about doing exactly that. Watch the grin-inducing mayhem unfold in the half-hour clip above. Related Video:

Dodge, Hyundai crowdsourced-funding sites deemed successes

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

What's not to love about crowdsourcing? This idea, after all, has given us Kickstarter as well Local Motors, but automakers are starting to use the social platform to sell more cars (or just drum up a little PR). Both Dodge and Hyundai have used "crowd-funding" recently, and while Automotive News is reporting that neither has racked up big sales with this gimmick, both automakers are pleased with the attention.
For Hyundai, it teamed up with website Motozuma.com to help customers crowdsource money for a down payment, and the automaker matched this amount up to $500. Last year, this helped Hyundai sell an extra 1,600 units, a fraction of its total 2012 sales. That figure is far larger than Dodge fared with the Dodge Dart Registry - it netted only two sales and a small number of individual options. This registry did help University of Southern California fraternity crowdsource $18,000 to buy a Dart for a local Meals on Wheels, however. Despite the low sales figures, Dodge and Hyundai are considering their crowdsourcing programs a success since it helped them connect with younger buyers.
