Treat yourself to a Generation IV Dodge Viper ACR!!!
2008 Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racer) for sale. This very low miles Viper ACR is completely stock and is the
same classic red with black center band and red driver's stripe color scheme used by Dodge to promote the 2008
Generation (Gen) IV ACR in the Viper broacher and magazine articles. It is also the same color scheme as the Viper
ACR that set the Nurburgring production car lap record in 2009 which is still the 16th fastest "ring" time to date.
With Viper production ending this year, this Viper in this color scheme is well on its way to becoming a great
collector car. This car is the non-hardcore variety and comes with the factory A/C, 6 disc stereo, and the
optional navigation. (The hardcore variety removed the stereo and the A/C. I once owned a 1965 Mustang without
A/C and will never do it again.)
Besides its great color scheme and having less than 4,500 miles on it, the car also comes with all the original
books, both sets of keys and remotes, original suspension tools, fang splitter extension piece, original window
sticker, and the 2008 Dodge Viper brochure. Along with all the original parts and documents, the buyer of the car
will also get:
1. Brand new black Dodge Viper ACR Coupe (2008-10) Upgrade Car Cover Satin Stretch Indoor Cover and bag from the
Viper Store ($400 value)
2. Driver and passenger TeamTech ASR six point harnesses (red and black color, perfectly matched and designed for
the Dodge Viper, $900 value) and two brand new TeamTech Viper Mounting bars for the anti-submarine (aka crotch)
straps of the ASR harness ($350 value).
3. Brand New Mopar Performance PCM for '08-'10 Viper (I never installed the PCM. It was slightly cosmetically
damaged when it was shipped, but is still completely functional. $1,235 value).
4. Hot Wheels 2008 Viper SRT10 ACR model
5. Burago 1/24 scale ida-cast metal 2008 Viper ACR model
This Gen IV ACR is in almost mint condition and still has the new car smell. The seats and interior are in perfect
condition and show no signs of wear. The front bumper, hood, mirrors, side rocker panels, and bottom of the
quarter panels are all cover in a clear protective wrap. There are no chips in this car's paint. It currently has
Pirelli P-Zero Corsa (heat cycled) tires on it with around 50% tread life. I also still have the original Michelin
Pilot Sport Cup tires (which are no longer produced) that came on the car. The tires are too old for aggressive
street driving, but would be great for a collector who wants to have an all original GEN IV Viper ACR in their
collection. The adjustable suspension and rear wing have never been moved from their stock settings and still have
the original stickers over the adjustment knobs to prove it. This ACR would be a great addition for someone's car
collection.
It would also make a great track car or weekend canyon carver for someone who wants to use the car and do
performance/spirited driving. There are very few street cars as fast as the Viper ACR on a road course. The
naturally aspirated engine and six speed manual make it a fun and challenging car to drive and you will not get
bored with it. You can spend years learning how to drive this car faster and how to wring out every bit of
performance it has to offer. The Gen IV Viper was the last of the analog Vipers; meaning there are no electronic
nannies (no traction control and no stability control; it does have ABS) holding you back and telling you how to
drive the car. This car will do exactly what you tell it to do. All the gauges are also analog, giving the car a
clean and classical look. The Gen IV has a very reliable engine and great brakes with steel StopTech two piece
rotors. The front wheel diameter is 18 inches and the rear wheel diameter is 19 inches giving you a number of tire
options to use on the car. The car is easy to work on and maintain yourself. While the new Gen V Viper ACR is a
beast of a track car, the Gen IV ACR gives you 90% of the performance at a much lower operating cost.
I am the second owner of this car and bought it in April 2014 with 2,890 miles on it. The car was originally
bought from Max Chrysler Jeep and Dodge, Butler, MO and was built especially for the first owner. I never intended
to sale this car, but with the news that Dodge was stopping production of the Viper at the end of 2017, I couldn't
help myself and ordered a Gen V ACR. I really don't want to sale this car, but at the end of the day, I can't
justify having two ACRs. I'm sure I'm going to regret selling this car and in many ways its a better car than the
Gen V ACR.
I had the car serviced less than a 1,000 miles ago, to include oil and filter change (Mobile 1 full synthetic oil
and Mopar OEM filter), power steering fluid flush, clutch fluid flush, and break fluid flush (Castrol SRF Racing
Brake Fluid). The only minor imperfection with this car is that two of the wheels were very slightly scuffed when
the mechanic was putting on the Pirelli tires. The scuffs are so minor I decided to not have them fixed and
instead had the shop compensate me with store credit towards the service. The scuffs can easily be fixed for
around $300. I'll post pics of the wheels as soon as I have time to go and take pictures of them.

2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.

VLF Force 1 V10 is a rebodied Viper priced like a Lamborghini

Tue, Jan 12 2016

It would appear that Henrik Fisker is done with hybrids. His latest project, called the Force 1, packs an oversized V10 engine with no electric assist in sight and all the environmental credentials of a herd of flatulent cattle. Alongside the Karma-based, Corvette-powered Destino, the Force 1 is the second product from VLF Automotive. Fisker has taken partnership in the new firm as chief designer alongside chairman Bob Lutz and CEO Gilbert Villarreal. The company isn't saying explicitly what the Force 1 is based on, but it doesn't take a CSI team to trace its roots back to the Dodge Viper. Never mind that it's being built in Auburn Hills – the same Detroit suburb where Chrysler is headquartered – or that it was jointly developed by Fisker and professional Viper racer and dealer Ben Keating. It also happens to be powered by an 8.4-liter V10, and there aren't many of those kicking around the industry. Instead of the Viper's 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, the Force 1's ten-cylinder engine is optimized to deliver 745 hp and 638 lb-ft. That, according to VLF, is enough to send the coupe rocketing to 60 in 3.0 seconds flat, covering the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds on its way to a top speed of 218 miles per hour. The power is transmitted to the Pirelli PZero rubber through a six-speed manual, but VLF says it will fit it with an automatic at the customer's request. Around that massive engine and two-seat cockpit, Fisker designed a new shape that, for better or for worse, looks way more aggressive than the Viper's. The Force 1's proportions are tellingly super-snake, but the curves are replaced by some very angry-looking angles and vents. Its head- and taillights are ultra thin, and the deep-dish, split-four-spoke wheels seem to visually split the difference between the three-spoke wheels on the original Viper and the five-spoke alloys it wears today. If you doubted the Force 1's origins before, the interior ought to give it away, with its wide tunnel and familiar surfaces. Only VLF has refinished it in leather, suede, and Alcantara, all diamond stitched with contrasting thread to help position this as a more luxurious prospect than the Dodge. It even fit between the seatbacks place for two champagne bottles that we hope nobody would consider consuming before trying to handle that much power. Of course, none of this will come cheap.

Dodge whips covers off 2013 Blacktop series

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Dodge introduced us to its Blacktop model lineup a year ago with the 2012 Charger and followed up with more recently with the 2013 Challenger and 2013 Avenger. Now the automaker will be applying this ominous-looking treatment to the Durango, Grand Caravan and Journey models for 2013 as well. These models will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show, but Dodge has released most of the details for these new products including pricing and availability.
If the Grand Caravan R/T (aka, the Man Van) wasn't aggressive enough for you or its $30,000 starting price was a little too pricey, then the 2013 Grand Caravan Blacktop could be the ticket. Starting with the SXT trim level (which stickers at $19,995), the Blacktop package costs only $595, and adds unique features such as blacked-out headlights, grille and fog lights bezels and an all-black interior. The van rides on black-accented, 17-inch aluminum wheels. The Grand Caravan Blacktop is only available in monochromatic paint schemes limited to Billet Silver, Brilliant Black, Maximum Steel, Redline Red and Stone White
Likewise, the 2013 Journey Blacktop is offered only on the SXT model (starting at $18,995) with all of the crossover's normal options such as four- and six-cylinder engines, five- or seven-passenger seating and front- or all-wheel drive. The Blacktop package adds $995 to the Journey SXT's price and features many of the same black accents as the Grand Caravan like the headlights, grille, door mirrors and lower fascia. Exterior colors are limited to Bright Silver, Bright Red, Brilliant Black, Brilliant Red Tri-Coat, White, Pearl White Tri-Coat and Storm Grey, and the package's 19-inch wheels come in Gloss Black. Inside, the Journey Blacktop comes standard with black cloth seats and Chrysler's 8.4-inch Uconnect touch screen, but black leather is also available as an option.
