1993 Dodge Viper Base Convertible 2-door 8.0l on 2040-cars
Charlotte Hall, Maryland, United States
Up for auction is a 1993 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster with only 31,637 miles on it. This car looks; runs and drives great. This car has the production number of 00010 for the 93 production year; yes this car was the 10th viper to be produced in 1993, the production date is 12/14/92. This viper was originally sold in the Charlotte NC. area in 1993 and has resided in the Charleston, SC area for the last fifteen year and has always been garaged. I shipped it up to Maryland in early February of this year. In one of the photos you will see the lettering stating “VIPER” on the front break caliper and as stated in the Viper registry at the approx. build date of 4/4/93 the lettering changed to “RT/10” so only a limited number of Vipers stated VIPER on the caliper. These cars have unbelievable power and hold to the road like no other; this was a Super Car in 1993 and they are Bad Azz know . It comes equipped with an 8.0 liter V – 10 / 488 Cu in with 400hp @ 4600 rpm. with a 6 speed manual transmission causes a top speed of 180 mph. The Viper comes with a manual Convertible roof that is collapsible and can be put in the truck of the car. Within the last 100 miles the car had $3,200. Spent at a Certified Chrysler Dealer on routine / preventative maintenance - Documentation of this will be released with Title. In one photo you will see some blistering in the door sill, this is directly above the exhaust but cannot be seen when the door is closed and I am told this is common in the first gen vipers. Title is clear and ready for the next owner. Purchase amount is to be wire transferred into my bank account before the car is released and or cash buyers are welcome. If purchased prior to “buy it now” Price - Buyer is responsible for Vehicle pick-up or shipping If purchased at the “buy it now” price I will transport up to 700 miles from zip 20622 Any additional shipping would be at the buyers expense.
Good luck bidding. |

Stellantis expects to hit emissions target without Tesla's help
Tue, May 4 2021Franco-Italian carmaker Stellantis expects to achieve its European carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions targets this year without environmental credits bought from Tesla, its CEO said in an interview published on Tuesday. Stellantis was formed through the merger of France's PSA and Italy's FCA, which spent about 2 billion euros ($2.40 billion) to buy European and U.S. CO2 credits from electric vehicle maker Tesla over the 2019-2021 period. "With the electrical technology that PSA brought to Stellantis, we will autonomously meet carbon dioxide emission regulations as early as this year," Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares said in the interview with French weekly Le Point. "Thus, we will not need to call on European CO2 credits and FCA will no longer have to pool with Tesla or anyone." California-based Tesla earns credits for exceeding emissions and fuel economy standards and sells them to other automakers that fall short. European regulations require all car manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions for private vehicles to an average of 95 grams per kilometer this year. A Stellantis spokesman said the company is in discussions with Tesla about the financial implications of the decision to stop the pooling agreement. "As a result of the combination of Groupe PSA and FCA, Stellantis will be in a position to achieve CO2 targets in Europe for 2021 without open passenger car pooling arrangements with other automakers," he added. Tesla's sales of environmental credits to rival automakers helped it to announce slightly better than expected first-quarter revenue this week. The next tightening of European regulations will soon be the subject of proposals from the European Commission. The 2030 target could be lowered to less than 43 grams/km. 2014 Dodge Durango Ron Burgundy ads already have 2.7M views [w/videos]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013The guy who once made the Dodge Stratus a punchline of sorts is now a spokesman for the 2014 Dodge Durango, and the move appears to be paying off handsomely for Dodge. Will Ferrell, acting as 1970s-era TV news personality Ron Burgundy, has teamed up with the automaker for co-branded advertisements between the refreshed 2014 Durango and Ferrell's new movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Like Ferrell's fictional character, the ads are outrageous, flamboyant and a bit random. They're also successful: Automotive News says that more than 2.7 million people have already watched the videos since they debuted on October 5.
Those views are similar to the numbers that AN's top viral video of the year (e.g. Volkswagen's "Get Happy" Super Bowl ad) received, but there will eventually be as many as 70 videos comprising the Burgundy-Durango spots. According to the report, the videos were created primarily as a viral campaign online, although some are airing on television, too. For Dodge's part, the cost of the videos was significantly lower than a usual television campaign thanks to the fact that Ferrell wasn't paid for the spots since they were made in cooperation with promotional efforts for his new movie.
We've already posted a few of the videos in our previous post, but scroll down for several more - and head over to Adweek for a little added background on how these spots came to be.
MotorWeek revisits the awesome, original Dodge Viper
Sat, Jun 6 2015MotorWeek is bringing the automotive world a wonderful blast from the past with its latest Retro Review. Not only does the video feature the now-famous, original Dodge Viper, but this is also a chance to watch one lapping Pocono International Raceway in a test of track prowess. This segment was MotorWeek's first chance to unleash the Viper around a racecourse, and the show took advantage of the opportunity. In addition to the usual 0-60 mph and quarter-mile tests, the 400-horsepower V10 is let loose to do lap after lap. The clip offers a great dose of nostalgia and is worth a watch to remember the intense enthusiasm surrounding the Viper at the time.
