1999 DODGE RAM VAN 1500 SE MARK III CONVERSION

VIN: 2B6HB11Y0XK583433

THERE ARE 60 IMAGES OF THIS VAN SHOWN BELOW!

DESCRIPTION:

This NO RESERVE auction is for a spectacular looking 1999 DODGE RAM 1500 SE that has a MARK III Conversion. This particular vehicle is truly a rare find. This is an original one owner vehicle and it has been pampered for its entire life. It has always been garaged and was never involved in an accident. The owner is a non-smoker and the entire plush interior and exterior of the van is immaculate. It runs smoothly and quietly and everything appears to be working correctly. The heat, A/C, wipers, tilt steering, remote mirrors, intermittent wipers and all of the other controls are functioning normally. It has electric windows (all of the glass is tinted), power steering and brakes and power door locking. The seats adjust manually.

With fewer than 72,000 actual miles, that converts to a little over 5000 miles a year of actual road usage. This beautiful black van (with gold accent pin striping) is fully loaded and has most of the options that were available at that time. There are chrome bumpers, full length running boards, chrome slotted steel wheels and front and side barn doors for easy access as well as the increased roof height. This vehicle not only looks fantastic but it produces plenty of usable horsepower from the 5.2 Liter V-8 power plant and it has perfectly positive shifting through the the 4-speed automatic transmission. The plush interior even has a rear seat that converts to a bed for sleeping. There is abundant comfortable seating and lots of storage. We have the original books and keys.

This handsome looking RAM VAN has always been adult owned, driven and cared for. The Goodyear tires are all matching and there is a new battery and a recent brake job (disc front & drum rear) that will bring the van to a smooth halt safely in a short distance. In the last few years the cooling radiator and entire exhaust system were replaced, including the catalytic converter. Noticed condition issues were limited to a short list that included some minor chips and scratches on the exterior finish and wear to the top of the driver's seat arm rest. It is a pleasure for us to present a vehicle that has been so well cared for.

In all regards this Mark III conversion van didn't disappoint us. It is an exceptionally nice and has been meticulously maintained. If you have been waiting to find a nice clean example of one of these vans, give this auction your most serious consideration. There is an abundance of additional general information about these vans on the internet if you are looking for technical data or performance details. Why the Charger Hellcat can't be ordered with a manual transmission

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Fans of truly irreverent amounts of horsepower will find lots to love in the form of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Both of them send 707 ridiculous horsepower to the rear wheels; the only question is whether you want your absurdity delivered with two or four doors. Oh, and whether or not you want the option of a manual transmission.
If you prefer rowing your own gears, the choice is made for you; there is no manual gearbox option available on the Charger Hellcat, or any Charger model at all, for that matter. Wonder why? Well, besides the fact that almost nobody - sorry, clutch fans, but it's true - would choose to buy a Charger with a manual transmission, that is? The answer, according to an industry insider in a post written on Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, is the floorpan.
It's probably not a surprise to most of our readers that the Dodge Challenger and Charger share a large portion of their chassis structure, which is codenamed LX at Chrysler, but there are still some significant differences under the skin due to the shorter wheelbase and two-door coupe bodyshell of the Challenger, as opposed to the sedan shape of the Charger. One of the differences is the floorpan, the huge chunk of sheetmetal that makes up the floor of the car and props up such essential items as the car's seats.

Dodge delaying Challenger Hellcats ordered with satin black hood [UPDATE]

Tue, Dec 16 2014

The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of the most formidable muscle cars on the planet. And it looks the part, too – especially with the optional satin black hood. But if you were one of the first customers to place an order for the 707-horsepower Mopar muscle car and specified the black hood on the options sheet, you may have to wait awhile. According to members of the Hellcat.org forum cited by Car and Driver, deliveries of certain Challenger Hellcats have been delayed without explanation. When these fanatic customers started looking into the issue, they realized that all of the delayed orders shared one thing in common: they all had ordered their Dodges with that optional black hood. Although an exact reason wasn't specified, those who ordered the black hood on their Challenger coupes were told that delivery was being pushed back to February. But some were reportedly informed by their local dealership that things could be moved along if they switched their order to a body-colored hood instead. It's not clear if the issue is a supplier problem, a paint booth issue at the factory, or something else entirely. We've reached out to Dodge for clarification, and will update this story when we hear back. UPDATE: Reached for comment, a Dodge spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the satin black hood "is not currently available for production" and that customers who ordered it "can opt to change their order to a body-color hood" or otherwise have their orders delayed until the option becomes available at a later date to be confirmed.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
