*no Reserve* 1988 Dodge Ram Van B250 Rv Camper Conversion Low Miles Drives Well on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States

This dodge ram van is a beast and don't want to see it go but it's time for it to give someone else an epic adventure. This van must be picked up and paid for in full by the 11th December. Pickup from around downtown LA. Please don't bid if that can't be done as you will be disappointed. This is a NO RESERVE auction so winning bidder is a winner. This is honestly a bargain. It's 1988 so it's not perfect or necessary pretty, but it has been proven to do the job and provide a good time in the meantime. This is a conversion van so it has a fridge, stove, sink, bench seats that face each other and fold into a bed when needed. Not sure if the fridge, stove and sink work never really needed them or tested them properly. Can sleep 3 people on the bed, 1 on the floor, 1 in the passenger seat and one in the drivers seat if needed. Front seats are captain chairs and comfortable as hell. Passenger seat can rotate all the way around. New sony CD player and rear speakers. Built some sweet shelves in the back as well. Plenty of places for storage. Heater is amazing, has both front and rear, never tested the AC. Removable table that's great for card games. Cruise control is good. Also comes with 2 jacks, jumper leads, spare tire and a bunch of tools as well. Will have a bit of camping gear we can throw in for a few extra bucks too if interested like sleeping bags and chairss. Has a cb radio but no antenna, lights for the rear of the van and some material that we use for curtains. It's got a bunch of new parts and what not as well. We invested 400 bucks on new rear brake cylinders in November. Less than 70 thousand miles on the odometer. Reliable and a pleasure to drive. Engine and everything under the hood is good. Tires bought in November this year so good tread. Minor scratches and dings that you'd expect for a vehicle of this age. Interior carpet could use a clean, some tears in fabric and some stains here and there. Passenger power window doesn't work, power locks don't work. Gas gauge doesn't work (missing sender line from fuel tank) and small hole on top of fuel tank where sender line was. I have driven 4000 miles up and down mountains with it in this condition, doesn't leak unless you overfill the tank or brake suddenly. Wouldn't cost too much to fix if required. Driven this bad boy over 11000 miles across country in rain, snow, heat, up mountains, down mountains and even in a blizzard, it's tough and will be sad to see it go. Horn doesn't work. Just finished a roadtrip with 6 people from Florida to Los Angeles, the van was a dream to drive. Starts pretty much first time every time. Any questions please ask, I'll respond quickly. I have this listed elsewhere so reserve the right to remove the listing if it is sold elsewhere. No reasonable offer not entertained. Obviously it is sold as is, last titled in New Jersey with an inspection sticker good until 2015. |

FCA's U.S. sales chief sues company for wrongful retaliation
Thu, Jun 6 2019Some fresh controversy is brewing at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as The Detroit News reports that the head of U.S. sales has filed a federal whistleblower lawsuit against the company.. Reid Bigland, who's also in charge of the Ram truck brand, alleges that FCA made him a scapegoat for wrongful sales inflation practices and fixing vehicle sales statistics, which are currently under investigation by federal agents. Bigland claims that FCA executives punished him for cooperating with the federal investigators in the case by cutting his pay by more than 90 percent, according to the lawsuit he filed. The plan apparently was to use the money saved to pay for fines following any settlements made with the Securities and Exchange Commission. So far, the lawsuit alleges that FCA cost Bigland over $1.8 million in income. "They had the largest growth in retail sales in 17 years last year and refuses to pay him," Deborah Gordon, Bigland's lawyer in the case, said to The Detroit News. "Why is that? Because he participated in the SEC investigation and they don't like what he said." Bigland claims he just cooperated with the SEC investigation by testifying about FCA's sales reporting, from the time he took the position to the period prior to being appointed the company's U.S. sales chief. "In late 2018, presumably as a way to wrap up their investigation with some result, the SEC suggested to plaintiff that he admit to some wrongdoing as to defendants' monthly sales reporting," Gordon further said in a statement as part of the lawsuit. "The SEC also suggested a resolution involving some penalty to FCA. Because (Bigland) had not engaged in any wrongdoing, and there was no wrongdoing, he declined to do so." However, exacerbating the issue is the fact that Bigland reportedly sold his shares in the company last year, prompting FCA to act against him even more. FCA came under fire recently by federal agents in at least two separate investigations, potentially exposing conspiracy and corruption between company executives and private entities. The investigations are being led independently by the U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI. So far, eight convictions were reportedly secured, with one including former Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Vice President Alphons Iacobelli, as one of the defendants. Iacobelli was one of the former top labor-relations executives for the automaker.
2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Quick Spin
Thu, Jun 18 2015"Scat Pack" is plucked from The Big Book of Dodge Nameplates to describe what is basically the average of the Charger R/T and Charger SRT 392. Unnecessary horsepower always seems to go down better with a dose of heritage. If you think it's a silly name, just be thankful Dodge didn't call it an S/RT or an R/T-S. In previous years, a similar formulation was known as the SRT8 Super Bee. Going by another name, it's still as sweet and wears the same hurried-looking pollinator on the grille. We do wonder: What has displeased him so, and why does he have wings and wheels? The packaging is at least fresh. All Chargers get updates for 2015, including improved interiors and a Dart-on-steroids exterior redo. The new lines work especially well on the more aggressive models, including this Scat Pack car. Like the Super Bee before it, the Scat Pack gets the 6.4-liter engine from SRT 392; for 2015 it gets a slight output boost to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, respective increases of 15 and 5. It does without the SRT three-mode suspension and comes with cloth seats (leather is an option) to keep the price down. The Scat Pack also has slightly smaller Brembo front brakes, narrower wheels, and different rubber. It does, however, cost eight grand less and is just as quick in a straight line. Intriguing. Driving Notes Scat Pack cars get an electronically controlled active exhaust that we'd call hyperactive. It's loud all the time, opening its widest at startup, idle, and when you ask for any appreciable amount of power. Sport mode supposedly makes a difference, but we couldn't discern loud from louder. It's a delicious and appropriate loudness, with a brassy trumpet tone to it, and the engine makes top-fuel noises at full tilt. The squeal of the rear tires can be heard from every stoplight no matter the road conditions. A light touch avoids leaving a mark if you're so inclined. We weren't. When the tires eventually smear into the realm of traction, this thing is pretty quick – hitting 60 miles per hour takes 4.5 seconds. There's also an adjustable launch control mode if you want to cut out some of the wheelspin. The eight-speed transmission shifts smoothly. Quicker, more-palpable shifts are had in Sport mode, but occasionally the transmission still needs a moment to drop down from seventh or eighth when you mash the throttle. Despite its two overdrive gears, this Charger is still loud on the highway. In a good way. Probably.
MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.
