The truck is layed out inside with nice husky color matched floor mats. I had the tow mirrors, bumper which is custom, vent shades all painted to be colormatched with the truck. I put a 4.5 inch Tuff country Easy Ride lift on with coil springs and upper and lower control arms. I have 285/75/17 dune grapplers with wheel spacers in the rear on it that only have a few thousand miles on them along with brand new moto metal rims. It has a aftermarket hood scoop plus fold out steps that fold out when you open any door, mud flaps with chrome weights, along with chrome door handles on all doors plus tailgate. It has LED smoked tail lights and fender lights, smoked headlights, third brake light and tailgate light along with led light strip under the tailgate . It has aftermarket horizontal billet grille. It has matching Tuff country traction bars on the rear axle to reduce axle wrap. Now the engine built from bottom up it has a 12V crank which is 1.5 times stronger than the CR's 12V rods which both were polished balanced. It has a performance fluidampner. The block was bored and honed .020 over. The block and head were both decked to be true, i used billet bolt on freeze plugs for the rear and side of the block. i also made up a high pressure bypass on cylinder #6. For pistons i had .020 over malhe pistons machined with a .010 valve relief in them along with the skirts teflon coated and the tops of the pistons coated and rated for 2200 degrees. I used ARP main studs for the crank and ARP rod bolts along with the stock girdle which was machined for the main studs. I put a 210-210 performance cam in it pushing hamilton performance pushrods. I had the head ported and polished and new valve guides and seats along with hamilton #110 springs. I used #625 Arp head studs to bolt to block. It has a 3 piece 2nd gen manifold with a 66mm silver bullet from industrial injection. The truck came with an exhaust brake from factory as a add on from cummins so it uses a vacuum pump that runs off the serpentine belt. It has plished 3 inch intercooler tubes along with intake horn. Custom intake due to the 2nd gen manifold. For fuel i have a Fass 150 supplying Duel fuelers from PPE it uses the stock CP3 along with a CP3 for a LLY. It has 150Hp injectors with stainless steel bodies for higher pressure, along with 6.7l cross over tubes to flow more fuel to the injectors. The rail is capped with a boost fooler on it. Its tuned with a Smarty po6 with TNTR tunes. I have a snow performance water meth injection which uses the windshield washer container as the tank and sprays into the intake horn. It has its own moniter for boost and egts so you can adjust it to spray however you want. It has glowshift gauges with egt, boost, rail pressure. It has the G56 6 speed wich has a Southa Bend 3600 clutch in it. The truck runs and drives great and its very clean inside and out minor scratches on a small dent on the hood. The truck is from texas it has never seen salt the frame is super clean, no rust anywhere! The only thing wrong with the truck is the screen for the radio doesnt always light up. Hypermiling a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel to 38.1 mpg

Fri, May 9 2014

You never quite know what Wayne Gerdes has up his sleeve. The man who coined the term hypermiling is always looking for adventurous ways to prove that anyone – even you... yes, you – can eke out more miles per gallon just by changing the way you drive. Saying that is easy. Proving it by going on outlandish cross-country drives is hard. But for Gerdes and his team of fuel economy fiends over at CleanMPG, hard is half the fun. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. Which is why we always answer the phone when Gerdes calls. He likes to take journalists along on his drives, not only to try teach us how to hypermile but also to prove that we can be taught. The first time I 'helped' him and his team was when we got over 30 miles per gallon in a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT with the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6. The EPA rated that truck with at just 16 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. So, we'll count that trip as a success. Next up was a cross-country drive last fall in a trio of Audi TDI vehicles to prove that you don't need to drive extra slow to beat the EPA numbers. In fact, we made it from Los Angeles to New York City in just over 46 hours, cramped but not cranky. We had once again proven that how you drive is hugely important to your fuel usage. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. The EPA says that the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel we would be driving gets just 22 combined mpg (19 city and 27 highway). Gerdes' idea was to drive it as far north from Houston, TX towards Detroit, MI as we could go on one tank. The day before we left, our itinerary got an extra stop. Instead of taking one of the official Shell Eco-marathon prototype vehicles to Detroit, it was decided to bring the winning diesel-powered prototype from the just-finished event to The Henry Ford Museum, where it had been arranged the car would be displayed. The winning car was built by a small team (just four students) from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, IN, who managed to beat a number of college teams with a score of 1,899.32 mpg. That target would be a bit out of reach for the Ram, but could we get 1,000 miles from the tank? Since the truck has a 26 gallon tank (officially, anyway), that would mean the EPA says we could only go 702 miles, assuming all highway driving. Could we make up 300 miles with careful driving? That spells both challenge and fun.

1970 Hemi Challenger is a family heirloom with serious muscle

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Petrolicious turns up the emotion in its latest video about a family's connection to their 1970 Dodge Challenger. The orange muscle car that gets the spotlight here is a remarkably beautiful vehicle, but the story of a father and his sons at the core of this clip might leave you feeling a little misty eyed. Juan Escalante is the current owner of this Challenger, but it belonged to his dad first. Juan's father spotted the iconic muscle car during the 1969 Detroit Auto Show and had to have one. He soon placed an order for the orange '70 Challenger R/T with the rare combination for that year of a 426 Hemi V8 and a four-speed manual gearbox. The family even brought the coupe with them when they moved to Venezuela in 1972, and local fans dubbed it El Hemi. However, parts were scarce for the muscle car in that country, and it returned to the US in 1996 for a restoration. Now, the rumbling Challenger with its Coke-bottle profile and black hood is the world's most awesome family heirloom for the Escalantes. In this poignant video, Petrolicious shows how the coupe connects Juan to his father. Related Video:

Dodge revives Challenger T/A and Charger Daytona trims for 2017

Tue, Aug 16 2016

Dodge is reviving the Challenger's T/A trim and the Charger's Daytona line for 2017. Introduced on iconic Woodward Avenue just days before the annual Woodward Dream Cruise kicks off, the new variants promise more performance hardware and sportier aesthetics. We'll start with the two-door. The Challenger T/A, available with either the R/T trim's 5.7-liter V8 or the fire-breathing 6.4-liter Hemi V8, is inspired by the Challenger T/As of old. That means a less restrictive, 2.75-inch active exhaust system and a conical Mopar air filter. But there's no clear bump in output – Dodge still lists the base 5.7-liter at 375 horsepower and the 6.4-liter model at 485 hp. But hey, they're going to look cooler. Unlike the Challenger Hellcat, which should have it as standard, Dodge is including a Satin Black hood on every Challenger T/A. In fact, Satin Black is a recurring theme on this Challenger's front fascia, roof, rear decklid, and T/A bodyside stripes. And yes, the 20-inch Mopar wheels are black, too – they're also an inch wider than normal. Dodge is offering the T/A in three different trims. The base T/A has everything we described above, while the T/A Plus adds some comfort features like heated and vented Nappa leather seats, an 8.4-inch UConnect system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, and a shortcut button for the Dodge Performance Pages. The T/A 392, meanwhile, adds the 6.4-liter V8, even wider wheels, and Brembo six-pot calipers. If you prefer smoking tires with four doors, there's the new Charger Daytona. No, there's not an enormous wing on the back. But Dodge added the same kind of engine/exhaust upgrades found on the T/A while upping the top speed from 135 to 150 miles per hour. Satin Black features prominently again, with hood and rear fender graphics. The roof is also black. Unlike the Challenger, Dodge is only offering two different versions of the Daytona – the 5.7-liter base model and the 6.4-liter version, called the Daytona 392. Prices for the Challenger T/A start at $38,485, including a $1,095-destination charge, while the T/A Plus adds $2,750. Adding the 392 means shelling out $45,090. For the Daytona, you'll need a check for $40,985 for the 5.7-liter or $46,090 for the 6.4-liter. Orders for the Charger Daytona open in September, while the T/A is a month later. Related Video:
