99 Dodge 2500 Cummings Diesel 5sp 4x4 Ext Cab Long Bed on 2040-cars
Bardstown, Kentucky, United States
Up for sale is my 99 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel 5sp 4x4 ext cab. I have owned this truck for aprox 2.5 to 3 years. I bought the truck to have as a spare and ended up loving it so much that I drove it daily to work. I recently painted the entire truck after pulling the flat bed off and putting a regular truck bed on. ( the flat was kina ugly) I have also rebuilt the rear end after a new universal broke and threw the drive shaft and twisted the pinion shaft as well as replaced the drive shaft. (been a year and a half ago) The cummings diesel engine is one of the most powerful stock 24vales I have owned or been around. (Ive owned 6 and still buying them) This truck will fire up no matter how cold it is and I don't care to take it on long trips anywhere. Oil pressure at a idle holds 40 pounds on even a hot hard working kina day. The trans shifts fine even without a clutch third gear synchronizers are a little sluggish if in a hurry but to the average driver you wouldn't' even notice the slightest issue. The truck is equipped with 410 gears and is more set up for pulling however it has no issue getting 18 to 19 mpg even on the interstate. I have added a brake box as well as b and w gooseneck hitch as well as a fuel pressure light to let u know if the fuel pump goes out. The 4x4 ac and every other part of this truck works fine. The only issues is the radio is showing some age as well as a couple of the speakers don't work. If you would like I can replace them for about 150. with no labor charge. The only other issue is the dash which is cracked a common problem on 99 to 02 Dodge truck. The kit to replace it is under 200 if you would like I can put it in free of labor charge. The body of the truck does show some hail damage as well as some smaller dents but for the age I wouldn't expect anything different. The only reason I am selling this truck is because I have too many and this is one of the better looking ones so hopefully easier to sell. Delivery can be arranged for the cost of my fuel and a small consideration for my time. If you have any questions please give me (Jeremy) a call at 502-507-2056

Ward's announces 10 Best Engines 2015
Wed, Dec 10 2014Ward's Auto has named its 10 Best Engines for 2015, covering a range of powerplants from fuel-sippers to fire-breathers. As with past years, forced-induction reigns supreme, with seven of the ten engines featuring a turbo or supercharger. This year is slightly different, though, as two of the seven blown engines are turbocharged three-cylinder mills, from the Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper. They're joined by the 2.0-liter turbo four from the Volvo S60, the 1.8-liter turbo four from the Volkswagen Jetta and the 2.0-liter boxer from the Subaru WRX. BMW and Chrysler were the only marques to be named to this year's list twice, with the electric motor from the i3 joining the Mini's three-pot, and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee repping the diesel crowd, alongside a certain supercharged monster. Hyundai also took a prize with a zero-emissions powertrain, with the Tucson FCV's 100-kilowatt fuel cell making the list (apparently Ward's is quite generous with what it deems an "engine"). Rounding out the list are two Autoblog favorites, each displacing 6.2 liters, but producing their power very differently. On the one hand, Chevrolet's overhead-valve, 455-horsepower V8, found in the Corvette, makes its power the old fashioned way. And in the other corner, we have one of the most exciting engines of the year – the 707-hp, 6.2-liter, supercharged Hellcat V8, featured so prominently in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat. "We spend a lot of time reading the powertrain tea leaves throughout the auto industry, and we're proud that this year's list is a microcosm of all the latest innovation coming from automakers," said Ward's Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter in a statement. "It's not just a list for enthusiasts or for environmentalists," he says. "There's something for every vehicle shopper and every budget. All the powertrains on this list deliver a first-rate driving experience," Winter added. Scroll down for the full list from Ward's, and let us know which engines you think belong and which should have been included in this year's rankings. Chrysler banks $507 million in Q2, trims 2013 earnings forecast
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler has some good news and some bad news. First, profits were up 16 percent over the second quarter of 2012, bringing the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based manufacturer $507 million on the back of strong demand for trucks and SUVs (a recurring theme this quarter, particularly in the US). Q2 revenue was up as well, from $16.8 billion in 2012 to $18 billion in 2013. The bad news is that the Pentastar's overall earnings forecast for net income in 2013 has been trimmed from $2.2 billion to between $1.7 and $2.2 billion, according to Automotive News.
In addition to the adjusted net income forecast, Chrysler tweaked its operating profit from $3.8 billion to between $3.3 and $3.8 billion. This has gone largely unexplained by Chrysler, perhaps hoping the news of a three-percent increase in its transaction prices for Q2 will allow it to sweep this adjustment under the rug.
The star of the show for Chrysler has been its US sales, which saw a 10-percent jump, both bettering the industry average of eight percent and improving over the same stretch of 2012. As with the increase in transaction prices, Chrysler has the new Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee to thank. Perhaps most worrying from this report, though, is that every brand in the automaker's stable saw an increase in sales... except for the Chrysler brand itself.
Chop the top of your new Dodge Viper for $35,000
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We have good news, and we have bad news. First, the good: It's now possible to get a brand-new Dodge Viper roadster, which is nice, considering we're in the dead of summer and many of us like wind-in-the-hair motoring. Now, the bad: This is not a factory option from the automaker, instead coming courtesy of an aftermarket company called Prefix Performance, and that means it's going to cost you some serious coin.
Called Medusa, this drop-top Viper was created without the knowledge or consent of Dodge, but that's probably fine because Prefix works with the automaker already for the final preparation of the American supercar, including paint. According to the company, the current, fifth-gen Viper was built with a convertible version in mind, so no chassis strengthening is required. From the looks of the somewhat grainy photos available, the conversion appears of very high quality.
Want one? Well, that means you're going to need to procure a Viper - Prefix has 10 units ready for transformation as it stands - and that's going to cost at the very least $102,485. Then, you'll need to write a check for an additional $35,000 for Prefix to surgically remove the car's roof. Thing is, for that kind of cash, a prospective owner could buy, among other very nice options, a Viper hardtop and a loaded Miata, or a Corvette Stingray convertible and several pockets full of change. Or, perhaps a new Viper hardtop and a used, first-gen Viper convertible?
