2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 6 Speed Cummins Quad Cab Nv5600 Low Miles on 2040-cars
Edisto Island, South Carolina, United States
If you want a tough truck that will be running 15 years from now, this
it the truck you have been looking for. 110k miles, NV5600 transmission
(heavy duty cast iron transmission highly sought after) 4X4, 35" tires,
Road Armor front bumper, Dodge SRT-10 hood, and extensively modded
powertrain. Dyno'd616whp and over 1200 ft lbs of torque (maxed the dyno,
it only read 1200) Industrial Injection SPS62 turbo, Smarty programmer
with MP-8 for pressure control, II CP3 pump, 2 micron fuel filter,
Cooling mist progressive water injection, Isspro EGT, boost, and fuel
pressure gauges, custom intake and valve cover, 3800lb load ceramic
clutch, 35w HID lights, Tekonsha P3 controller, Sirius radio, and 7"
dual Grand Rock stacks. The oil is freshly changed and oil sample sent off. I have had several done to monitor soot and this time I switched to the Fleetguard 9028 which is supposed to have a built in bypass low micron filter.
The truck is a ST which means it has almost no interior frills. It has the vinyl floors (great for sand and mud) and crank windows. It was the only way I could find a truck with the 6 speed and manual transfer case. There is a small tear in the drivers seat where my pocket knife snagged and tore the cover. There is also a small dent behind the LR wheel where I jacked a small trailer into it. I am a certified Cummins, Volvo, and Mack master tech. I ALWAYS changed the oil at 4k miles with Rotella and Cummins Stratapore oil filter, trans oil full of Redline MTL, diffs 75-90 synthetic, all frequently changed. I always let the turbo cool down to under 300* before shutting it off. This is extremely important to prevent turbo failures. The only thing I tow with the truck is my 22' bay boat and it does not go far. It has been owned by me since new and has honestly been babied except for the occasional blast through the gears. It is anything but beat on. I intended to have this truck for many years but plans and needs change. |

Continental Automotive recalls 5 million airbag control units
Thu, Feb 4 2016Takata isn't the only supplier having airbag problems. Rival manufacturer Continental Automotive Systems announced a recall of 5 million airbag control units fitted to vehicles from Honda, Fiat Chrysler Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, and even a certain Chrysler-based Volkswagen. This sweeping recall has actually been in progress for some time, although the exact scope is only now becoming evident. In October of 2015, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2008 and 2009 model year C- and GLK-Class vehicles because their Continental-made airbag control units could corrode. Such a condition could cause the airbags to deploy without cause or warning, or in the event of a crash, not deploy at all. You can read all about it in our post from last year. Now, Continental's recall is going wide. Alongside the already recalled C and GLK, you've already heard about the 2008 and 2009 Honda Accord airbag recall, which we reported on yesterday. Now, Fiat Chrysler is announcing the recall of the 2009 Dodge Journey, as well as the 2008 and 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, and their rebadged counterpart, the Volkswagen Routan. Yes, one manufacturer is recalling another manufacturer's vehicle. The models listed above only amount to about 580,000 vehicles out of 5 million bad airbag control units. And since Continental will notify manufacturers who will then issue their own recalls, it's extremely likely that more brands and vehicles will be ensnared. Stay tuned. Bid on the incredible George Barris Supervan in Scottsdale
Fri, Jan 22 2016Barrett-Jackson's upcoming Scottsdale, AZ, auction features the groovy Barris SuperVan, which came from the mind of car customizing legend George Barris. He even autographed the interior. Passengers enter the SuperVan through the hinged windshield, and once inside they can party in style thanks to the roof-mounted disco ball. However, occupants can't get too wild because the massive side windows don't leave much room for privacy. Barris built the van around a 1966 Dodge Tradesman A-100 with a three-speed manual gearbox and a 318-cubic-inch V8. Barris originally called the van the "The Love Machine," and it later had quite a Hollywood career. Its on-screen appearances included the '70s movie SuperVan, and a repainted version served as a Hill Valley Transit bus in Back to the Future II. After his passing at age 89 last year, Barris' creation might see a further boost in value. Barrett-Jackson doesn't offer a price estimate for the SuperVan, but we can't wait to see what this groovy vehicle sells for with no reserve. Collectors already valued Barris' work before his death. For example, his 1960s Batmobile, which was likely Barris' most famous creation, went for $4.62 million at a Barrett-Jackson auction in 2013. It was used for many movies and TV shows after that, such as the Hill Valley Transit bus in "Back to the Future II," "Sea Quest" and the 1970 movie "Solar Crisis." The van has been completely restored to its "SuperVan" look and has since been signed by George Barris. Manual transmission. 11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
