2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 24v Turbo Cold A/c Power Everything 2x4 Topper Clean on 2040-cars
Ocala, Florida, United States
This 2500 has less than 3000 miles on complete front-end rebuild including upper & lower ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arms, pitman arm, etc. I also just had the last PM service performed which included oil change & filter, diesel fuel filter, complete transmission service with new filter, fuel injector cleaning and radiator flush. Complete set of brakes 5000 miles ago including all new rotors, calipers, pads and rubber lines. Additionally, I installed four brand new tires on the truck and had an alignment done at the same time the front-end was rebuilt. These tires also have maybe 3000 miles on them as well. The truck has a "Power-Puck" programmer installed which adds another 50hp by simply plugging in the module as well as a full 4" inch straight pipe exhaust system, as well as a cold air intake system with color matched hood scoop. I installed new batteries about 1 year ago as well as a new serpentine belt and tensioner. I am almost obsessive about vehicle maintenance and this truck is no exception as you can tell. The Ram has a clean, non-smoker interior showing only minimal wear (see photos). I've installed an aftermarket CD player as well as Kenwood speakers which sounds great. The truck has factory power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt wheel as well as aftermarket pillar mounted gauges (triple) that monitor fuel pressure, boost pressure and exhaust temp. Although the A/C is working, its blowing only cool air rather than ice cold but this may need a simple recharging and it does still blow cool air. The heater works great. The truck also has late-model chrome 17" OEM Dodge Ram wheels, a painted fiberglass "Leer" topper with tempered glass and pop-out side windows, tinted windows, factory towing package with an electronic brake controller, etc. A new dash topper has been installed to replace the cracked factory dash as well as a small break has been glued. The truck does have its share of dings scratches and dents, and some chrome is peeling off the front grill, but the paint remains bright and shiny and looks great as you can see in the pictures. It is a truck after all so it has a few scars from being used and driven but overall it's a 100% solid and reliable truck. I just did an 800 mile round-trip pulling a 7000 lbs. trailer and you could barely tell the trailer was behind you! Traveling about 75mph down the highway with the loaded trailer behind me the motor is purring at barely 2000 rpm and I get on average 21mpg. The truck runs and drives great, all the lights, wipers, and gauges work with the exception of the fuel pressure gauge that needs a new $15. sending unit. I have a clean and clear title in my hand ready to transfer to her new owner. Please cash money only, no checks, no PayPal (other than the deposit) and I am not interested in trades or low ball offers. Walk around video: http://youtu.be/8sE-Qo99ID8 |

Help find Kenny Wayne Shepherd's stolen 1972 Dodge Charger
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Judging by his collection of cars, blues musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd (shown above, at left, with fellow musician George Thorogood) is an enthusiast of classic Dodge muscle cars, so it's no surprise that he is an active member of Mopar-related online communities. When his 1972 Dodge Charger turned up missing from an LA-area warehouse last Wednesday, Shepherd took to the forums of Moparts.org in an attempt to get the word out in hopes of recovering his custom classic.
The Charger was stolen along with four other vehicles, and Hot Rod reports that two women have been taken into custody since - but still no word on the car. With its blacked-out appearance (including custom Foose wheels), this car is definitely hard to miss, but Shepherd also said that the car might be even more distinguishable now due to some body damage that may have occurred as it was being driven from the warehouse lot. Shepherd's website has a full gallery of images for this '72 Charger, which also has a modern 392-cubic-inch V8 under the hood and a six-speed gearbox pulled from a Viper.
If you're in the LA area and happen to see this car, Shepherd asks that you call the LAPD West Valley Division at 818-374-7611. Here's to hoping this one-of-a-kind Charger turns up unscathed.
Chrysler Recalling 700k Vehicles For Ignition Switch Woes
Tue, Jul 1 2014General Motors isn't the only automaker with ignition switch problems. Chrysler is fighting it too and is now announcing a recall of 695,957 examples worldwide of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2008-2010 model years, plus the 2009-2010 Dodge Journey. According to a statement from Chrysler, the models have a bad wireless ignition node detent ring in the ignition switch, making it possible for drivers to appear to have the key in the "Run" position but for the spring not to fully engage. It can then slip back to the "Accessory" position and shut the car off. If this happens, the vehicle loses power steering, brake boost and the airbags. There is some disparity about the number of vehicles affected under this recall. In its statement, Chrysler claims that it covers 525,206 vehicles in the US, 102,892 in Canada, 25,591 in Mexico and 42,268 elsewhere. However, the recall announcement posted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists an estimated 438,109 vehicles in the US. Chrysler spokesperson Nick Cappa told Autoblog via email that the reasoning for the different figures "will become clear at a later date." To fix the problem, Chrysler will install a new detent ring in the vehicles. It will begin contacting owners soon, and obviously the repair will be free of charge. This isn't the first time this problem has cropped up in these models. Chrysler issued a recall for 248,437 vehicles in 2011 for certain 2010 model year examples. A few weeks ago, NHTSA also began investigating the 2008-2010 model years of the affected models for ignition switch problems. At this time, it's not clear whether that evaluation and this campaign are linked. Chrysler told Autoblog that it has no reports of injuries related to the problem. Scroll down to read the company's statement and the NHTSA recall report. Statement: Expansion of Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) safety recall July 1, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Out of an abundance of caution, Chrysler Group is expanding a previous safety recall to install a more robust WIN module detent ring. A previous recall in 2010 included 196,000 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Dodge Journey vehicles built August 2, 2009 through June 17, 2010. The expansion includes an additional 695,957 vehicles manufactured January 29, 2007 through August 1, 2009.
Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
