Up for sale is a great running hard to find 1998 dodge diesel 12 valve 4x4.  This is a hard to find 12 valve with the new interior but the trusty 12 valve motor.  This truck has been converted to a 5 speed nv4500 transmission that has just been rebuilt.  With the new transmission comes a south bend dual disk clutch with a larger input shaft capable of handling over 600 horses and 1200 ftlbs of torque.  The shocks and wheel bearings have been replaced in the past year along with deleting the only prone to fail electrical component, the fuel shutoff solenoid.  A cable has been run to manually turn on and off the fuel pump.  Delivery valves are dynamite diesels 042's, paired with a number 6 fuel plate and tuned afc.  To help the truck breath is a Stage 2 AFE cold air intake kit with filter box, air intake, filter, and prefilter to keep down on filter cleaning.  The stock turbo has been replaced by a he351cw turbo that spools much faster than stock and can push over 35 psi of boost.  The injection pump has been timed to 16.5 degrees for more power and fuel economy.  To move exhaust fast is a 4 inch straight pipe run out to dual 5 inch miter cut chrome stacks.  The front bumper has been replaced by a custom made 1/4 inch thick steel one that has been rhino lined.  Mounted under the bumper are dual nighttime driving lights to go along with the new led trimmed halogen lights that have just been installed.  Cab lights and brake lights are both smoked.  The truck has a gooseneck hitch and 2 inch receiver hitch along with all wiring hook ups.  The truck has a pioneer cd player and has 3 autometer cobalt gauges for pyro, boost, and oil psi.  The interior is in pretty good shape with the drivers seat having the most wear.  The batteries are not even a year old, and a new fan clutch also has been installed.  Ball joints, brakes, shocks, and water pump have all been replaced in past year.  KDP has been killed, and truck is running Shell Rotella T6 synthetic oil.  Transmission is running amsoil synthetic gear lube and transfer case just serviced.  The truck has a brake controller, and cb radio mounted inside.  The rear dana axle has also been upgraded with a yukon ring a pinion for durability and reliability.  Now down to the bad.  The truck does have rust.  The bed has small quarter sized spots on each fender and the cab has rust all along the rocker panels. The front fenders are in good shape and the chrome rear bumper is not eaten through like many of these year models are.  The dash is cracked just like all the other dodges of these years.  The drivers seat does have small wear spots on it but rest of seats are in good condition.  No cracks in any windows.  Drivers side door could be adjusted to close better but nothing major.  Head liner slightly lose next to front windshield.  All in all truck is mechanically great condition with any problem areas being upgraded and modded to handle anything that can be thrown at it.  The motor runs like a 12 valve should with no problems at all.  The only problem areas of the truck would be the body work with rust on it.  Don't miss out on this truck it is a great truck that i hate to have to sale.  Any questions feel free to email with them.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.

MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP

Thu, Aug 6 2015

Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.

Will airbags sandbag the 2017 Dodge Viper?

Thu, Jan 14 2016

The Dodge Viper is speeding down the road to cancellation for the 2017 model year, and at least part of the reason for the V10 monster's death is a problem fitting it with federally mandated side curtain airbags. An anonymous source close to FCA US told Motor Trend the automaker can't install the parts because they would further limit the coupe's already tight headroom. The government believes the side curtain airbags can reduce occupant ejections during accidents, and all vehicles must have them for the 2017 model year. The Viper's slow sales also don't provide FCA US much motivation to work out a solution to this problem. The automaker moved just 676 of the handmade sports coupes in the US in 2015, which was down 11 percent from 760 deliveries in 2014. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne hinted at the Detroit Auto Show that the Viper could return eventually. He doesn't like that the current model has a dedicated platform but indicated a new one could share the underpinnings with another of the company's products. Marchionne's current business plan for FCA stresses building the automaker's value, so it might be a while before we see the sweater-clad CEO focusing on a niche vehicle like the Viper. Related Video:
