Hi everyone! We have here a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT Laramie. It has an 8.0L V10 motor and automatic transmission. This truck has extremely low mileage and the exterior and interior show it. It is an extended cab with four wheel drive and the 4 wheel drive works great. This truck was traded in at our dealership by an older gentleman and he said he used it as a farm truck. It sat for a while because the transmission was giving him problems. So when he traded it in we decided to have the transmission rebuilt in it ($2239.56 and comes with a 12 month, 12K mile warranty, with receipt) and since the transmission was being rebuilt we had them replace the rear main seal. The truck was also taken to the local Dodge dealership and took care of some open recalls on the truck that include: line pressure connector, rollover valve, vapor canister, and some wiring under the dash (also have receipt). The truck is a 2 owner truck and it has a CLEAN Carfax. We also did some maintenance here at the dealership including: new front rotors and brake pads, fresh oil and filter, air filter, rear speed sensor, transmission sensor, oil pressure switch, ignition switch, and 10 spark plugs. The tires are in good condition with roughly 15k miles left in them. This truck runs so smooth and the transmission shifts unbelievable. Truck is very straight with NO rust whatsoever! The interior is in amazing condition, no tears in the seats. Only small issues are the radio light wont light up but works perfectly. Considering the age of the truck it does have a few scratches and a little bit of clear coat peeling on the right front fender (see picture) but nothing major at all. It does have the normal cracks in the top of the dash (about 3-4 cracks) but its VERY common for these trucks. It is by no means a show truck but is clean. The truck is sold as is where is. I have the right to end the auction early due to the truck is for sale locally. Please DO NOT bid if you do not have the funds to pay for the truck and if you have no feedback or feedback below 10, you must email me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. So please bid to own. I tried to describe the truck the best I can and be as honest as I can. I have 100% positive feedback so buy with confidence. I do highly encourage to come look and test drive the truck. If you have any questions or concerns you can email us through eBay and we will respond as soon as possible or you can call us here at (770)386-1800. You can ask for Dennis or Mike. If we do not answer you can leave a message and we will return your call. Our business hours are M-F 10:00am-6:00pm, Sat 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday Closed. Feel free to drop by anytime, our address is 1824 Joe Frank Harris Parkway SE Cartersville GA, 30120. Payment method is Cash only at time of pick up. Thanks again for looking!

BMW tops Consumer Reports 2023 Brand Report Card

Thu, Feb 16 2023

Feels like we wrote about Consumer Reports' 2022 Brand Report Car and 10 Top Picks a few weeks ago, but it was last April. So the mag is back with a ranked roster of 32 brands and 10 vehicles in four categories for your debating pleasure. Starting with the brands, last year's top three were Subaru, Mazda and BMW. This year, the Munich crew climbed two spots to win the prize thanks to "Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys." Subaru narrowly fell to second, maintaining its four-year run in the top three. Mini, eighth last year, jumped five spots to get the last step on the podium. The rest of the top 10 were Lexus (up one spot from last year), Honda (down one spot from last year), Toyota (up three), Genesis (up 12), Mazda (down six), Audi (down three) and Kia (up eight). The magazine and testing outfit says its Brand Report Card "[reveals] which automakers are producing the most well-performing, safe, and reliable vehicles based on CRÂ’s independent testing and member surveys," and that "Brands that rise to the top tend to have the most consistent performance across their model lineups." Last year's top 10 had six automakers from Japan, three from Germany (giving Mini credit for England), none from the U.S. or South Korea, and five luxury brands. This year's list counts five makes from Japan, two from Germany because Porsche fell out of the top ten, two from South Korea, still none from the U.S., and four luxury brands. Buick again ranked as the best domestic, dropping to 12th after being 11th last year. The big mover was Lincoln, its 10-place jump up to 16th attributed to better reliability from the Corsair and Nautilus. Tesla's improved overall reliability saw it climb six spots to 17th. Dodge climbed one spot to 15th. Jeep got out of the penalty box in last to come second-to-last. Land Rover fell three places into the penalty spot.  CR's top 10 vehicle models The 10 Top Picks list is practically a new list. Only two holdovers made it to 2023, those being the Subaru Forester and Kia Telluride.

This or That: 2005 Dodge Ram SRT-10 vs. 2005 Subaru WRX STI [w/poll]

Thu, May 7 2015

Some cars, due to ultimate desirability, particular rareness, or spectacular performance/prestige eventually become collectible. It's darn near impossible to know which ones will make it into the rarefied stratosphere of collectibility – why is a late 1960s AMC AMX so affordable these days, whereas prices for late '70s Pontiac Trans Ams are soaring? – but there are some useful indicators to keep tabs on. We're not exactly experts on investing, but we do know cars. As such, we've decided to take our non-expertise on one hand, combine it in the other with our knowledge of all things automotive, wad it up, throw it out and ask for your forgiveness. Or something like that. I've challenged Senior Editor Seyth Miersma to choose a car he thinks will become a future collector's item that's not more than 10 years old, and for no more than $25,000. I've done the same, and we vigorously argued for and against each other's picks. I feel good about my choice, but I don't have the best track record in these contests (I've lost three times, won twice, but they've all been pretty close), so, while I'm not going to beg (please vote for me!), I do hope you find my argument convincing. But first, let's hear from Seyth: Miersma: Ten-years old or newer makes this challenging. At that age most vehicles feel like a plain old used car to me, few hit the "classic" button. But the Subaru WRX STI has always been a special car, and the 2005 cutoff year proves to be very attractive for the parameters of our contest. It's rare; with fewer than 5,000 STI models sold that model year. It's probably the best looking WRX STI ever sold in America; narrowly avoiding the dreadful "horse collar" front fascia. And it's got one of the more die-hard car-geek followings out there. For $25,000, you can also still find examples that have reasonable miles, are in good condition, and haven't all been molested by grown-up Initial D wannabes. With the street racers hacking up collectable examples every day, I like my odds for steep appreciation by way of conservation. I couldn't agree more. It really is difficult to predict what cars will catch the eye of collectors, and the WRX STI seems like a pretty good choice. But I think mine is even better, and I can't let him know that I'd love to park just such an STI in my very own garage. And so goes my argument: Korzeniewski: I like your choice as a driver, Seyth. I'm less convinced of its status as a sure-fire collectible.
