                                                     2006 Viper Truck

Here is your chance to own a quad cab viper truck at a much reduced price from others like it on the retail market. When you look at this truck your first impression is how clean it is and how nice the paint and body are. This truck has very few marks or scratches and certainly nothing that will show up in pictures. It is obvious that while the truck was used and driven it was also someone's baby and was very well taken care of and maintained.

Recently, I drove this truck from St Louis Mo. to Denver Colorado and back (1600 miles) with absolutely no issues. I would have no problem in taking a road trip anywhere again in this truck. The engine runs smooth and strong with no knocks or rattles or weird noises and the tranny shifted thru all gears as it was intended. It has been proven over time that the viper motors have turned out to be quite reliable and are capable of going higher miles just like any other well maintained vehicle. That being said you will notice in the pictures provided that at about 131k thru a previous owners extended warranty that the top half of engine was rebuilt as well as the tranny. All this was done by a reputable dodge dealer.

As you can see in the pictures the interior is also very clean. Other then a little wear on drivers seat a small ink mark on passenger inside bolster and a few very minor stains and nicks here and there for a truck of this age and miles this interior is very well preserved. The dash has no cracks and the gauges all work as intended with no warning or check engine lights. Every option works well and has cold a/c and hot heat.

There is a little road rash on two of the four wheels which I tried to photograph but because it is very minor it wouldn't show up. The tires are at about 40% and will work for now but with any major amount of miles will need to be changed.

I have a car fax on this truck which will show you that in 2007 it was involved in a minor accident on driver's side. No air bags deployed. No other issues reported. This car fax as well as numerous other receipts will be provided to new owner.

This Srt-10 is ready for a new owner and needs nothing. If you wanted you could fly in to the St Louis airport and drive home. I have a very good feedback rating and intend on keeping it that way. I have tried to explain everything good or bad to the best of my ability. Keep in mind that this is an 8 year old truck with a 150k and that it's possible I missed something. I welcome all inspections and if you have more questions please call 636 219 7298 Thanks Bill

This truck is being advertised locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. The reserve is set to sell and I will possibly consider mopar trades.

This srt-10 is being sold as is where is with no warranties written expressed or implied. While the shipping is responsibility of purchaser I will assist as possible.

Are supercars becoming less special?

Thu, Sep 3 2015

There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.

1 Of 1 Dodge Viper looks a fabulous mess in Chicago

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Earlier this year, we told you about the new Dodge Viper 1 Of 1 program, which offers buyers the chance to customize their supercars to the tune of some 25 million different combinations. With 8,000 paint colors, 24,000 hand-painted stripe patterns, 10 wheel options, and 16 interior trims to choose from, you'd be right to think that the possibilities for personalization are endless, and can probably get a little weird. That's kind of what's going on here in Chicago, with a Viper showcar that's definitely... unique. It doesn't really look bad, necessarily. It's just kind of strange. We call this color job, "Oh no, there are tiny paint cans falling from the sky, but I simply can't stop driving 200 miles per hour." And when it came time to spec wheels, it looks like FCA US said, "Aw heck, let's just use all of 'em." You'll definitely want to take a look at this unique creation, in the gallery above. And be sure to let us know if you think this Viper is hot or not, in Comments. Related Video:
