2008 DODGE WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT TWO DOORS. TRUCK STILL DRIVES FINE WITH POWER WINDOWS OPERATING PROPERLY. NO WATER LEAKS IN NORMAL USE, BUT WITH A DRIVEN RAIN AT THE WORST POSSIBLE ANGLE COULD MAKE THE DRIVER'S DOOR LEAK. THIS TRUCK HAS HAD SOME UPGRADES AND THE PICTURE OF THE DASH SHOWS THAT THIS WAS SOMEONE'S PRIDE AND JOY. THE DASH IS CERTAINLY NOT A STOCK ITEM AND THE EXTRA CHROME MAKES THIS A GOOD LOOKING TRUCK THAT YOU WOULD THINK IS MUCH NEWER THAN IT REALLY IS. WE TOOK THIS IN ON TRADE AND WE HAVE BEEN USING IT AS A DAILY DRIVER BUT NOW THE AUCTION HAS STARTED IT WILL NOT BE USED UNTIL SOLD BUT IT MAY HAVE TEST DRIVE MILES ON IT. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT OPERATE. INTERIOR LOOKS GREAT AND THE EXTERIOR WAS ALSO EXCELLENT UNTIL THE DAMAGE ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE REST OF THE TRUCK LOOKS GREAT. THE TIRES WERE WORN OUT ON IT AND I PUT A SET ON FROM A NEWER TRUCK. I CHECKED THE MILEAGE RECENTLY AND FOUND THAT IT IS GETTING EXACTLY 20 MPG. THE V6 ENGINE IS ECONOMICAL AND WITHOUT THE EXTRA WEIGHT OF 4WD IT IS LESS COSTLY TO RUN THAN V8 COUNTERPARTS. THE TRUCK HAS A SPRAY ON LINE X TYPE LINER AND A BED LINER AND BOTH ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN ECONOMICAL FULL SIZE TRUCK THAT NEEDS MINOR REPAIR THIS IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE. THE TWO DOORS COULD BE SAVED BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE LESS COSTLY TO PUT ON REPLACEMENT DOOR SHELLS.
PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THIS IS THE TRUCK FOR YOU AND THAT YOU HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR IT. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE AUCTION AND TO SELL THIS VEHICLE AT ANY TIME. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD IN AS IS CONDITION. YOU MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS OF AGE TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE PLEASE ASK THEM BEFORE YOU BID.

Dodge unveils Special Service Durango for government fleets
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Straight off its refresh, the Dodge Durango is slipping back into its dress blues and getting back to work. The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service Vehicle boasts all the refinements and improvements that the refreshed, civilian-spec model received, most notably a 15-percent improvement in fuel economy.
Designed for police and fire departments, and as Chrysler's answer to the Ford Police Interceptor Utility and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV in the growing service SUV market, the Durango boasts a 600-mile range, thanks to the addition of an eight-speed automatic, available on both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Equipped with the 360-horsepower Hemi, the Durango SSV can tow up to 7,400 pounds (the V6 is limited to 6,200 pounds).
Police and fire department Durangos get a few special features over the civilian models. The electric systems are ruggedized, with a heavy duty battery and a 220-amp alternator in place, while the engine's water pump and oil cooler are both stronger. The brakes are tougher, and a load-leveling suspension has been fitted, too.
2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
2014 Dodge Durango bows with eight-speed auto, updated looks [w/video]
Thu, 28 Mar 2013Dodge has significantly updated its full-size Durango for the 2014 model year, giving the seven-passenger hauler a fresh look and a well-rounded boost of competitive features as it enters its fourth year in the showroom.
Cosmetically, it is hard to miss the revised front end with projector-beam headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, "floating" crosshair grille, a taller front bumper and a new lower fascia. The rear end of the facelifted Durango has been redesigned with the automaker's now-signature LED "racetrack" taillamps and resculpted rear fascia. All of the wheels are new too, with 18- and 20-inch options for each trim level with a variety of factory finishes.
Inside the cabin, buyers can select the automaker's latest Uconnect infotainment system with a full suite of infotainment features and connectivity accessed through an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Other optional goodies include a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seating and a Blu-Ray player capable of running unique programs on the twin individual rear monitors.
