2002 Dodge Ram 1500 St Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 4.7l on 2040-cars
Taylor, Michigan, United States
Up for auction is my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I am the second owner of the vehicle. I have owned it since December of 2013. I got the truck from my uncle who purchased it new. He put a lot of highway miles on the truck but he always maintained it very well. Which goes to show considering the condition the truck is in for the mileage. I am an ASE certified technician and have been servicing the truck for him throughout the years. I am selling the truck because I have way to many vehicles and I only drive the truck 2-3 times a month. I thought I would be using it more but i'm not. Exterior: Truck has some rust spots. I took photos of the area's so you can see them. It is actually not to bad compared to most dodge trucks of these years. There are some some scuffs and scratches on the body of the truck but no major dents or scratches. I don't believe the vehicle has ever been in an accident. The chrome on the bumpers is in pretty good condition but has some peeling on the bottom of the rear bumper that is not visible. The passenger side mirror has been replaced with a cut piece of glass. The topper and bedliner are in good condition. Truck has a hidden hitch and has a working 7 pin trailer connector. Interior: The interior is in good condition. Non smoker. No tears in the seats. The middle seat/arm rest functions as normal. All interior accessories work. All gauges work. No warning lights are on. The truck has a nice area behind the seats that can store a lot of cargo. The tire changing tools and jack are there. Comes with Dodge factory floor mats. The dash has 2 cracks in it. (see photos). Powertrain/Drivetrain: The engine and transmission are in great condition. Engine is strong and transmission shifts smooth. There is a very minor leak at the transmission output shaft seal. The engine seals are in good condition and there are no coolant leaks. The rear pinion seal also has a minor leak. Air conditioning and heat work excellant! Steering and Suspension: The tires are in excellant condition and are all matching set. Comes with full size spare. The front suspension is in pretty good shape. The front lower ball joints have a small amount of play as well as the passenger front wheel hub. The shocks have been on the vehicle for quite some time now and may want to replace in the future, but the truck rides good. As you can see the truck is in pretty good condition. It would make an excellant work vehicle or farm vehicle. The 8ft bed with the extra tall topper is great for hauling cargo. Honestly I want keep the truck but does not make sense for the amount of money I spend on insurance and registration versus how much I use the truck. Buyer is responsible for shipping and picking up of vehicle. I will take a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the sale with cash due at pick up or will take full payment thru paypal.

2015 Dodge Challenger gets 6.4L 485-HP V8 Scat Pack
Thu, 17 Apr 2014While it's not seeing the drastic facelift of its brother, the Charger, at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the 2015 Challenger is packing some upgrades of its own. It wears even more retro-inspired styling cues, and there are new 6.4-liter Scat Pack and Shaker trims.
If you thought the Challenger looked retro before, Dodge is taking things even farther with inspiration for the refresh coming from the iconic 1971 model. Up front, it has a new split grille, a larger power bulge in the hood and projector fog lights. At the rear, the classic inspiration continues with split LED taillights with Gloss Black trim, and a rear valance panel redesigned to make the 2015 model look wider and lower.
The '71 motif is carried inside as well with a high-sill center console and aluminum gauge bezels. There's still more than a touch of modernity, with an available 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and 7-inch customizable display between the retro-inspired speedometer and tachometer. For better safety, the Challenger is also now available with forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection. Stability control and electric power steering are standard across all models too.
Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells
Sat, Jan 10 2015Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.
Chrysler patents smarter minivan folding seats
Thu, 02 Jan 2014It's frightening to think of how quickly the mice would have overtaken us if we hadn't stayed one step ahead of them with better mousetraps. We'll never have to worry about that in our relentlessly re-engineered world, though. Case in point: Chrysler has been granted a patent by the US Patent and Trademark Office for an improved design of the already wondrous Stow 'n' Go seating found in the automaker's Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.
Introduced in 2005, the Stow 'n' Go was improved in 2008, and based on the drawings of this third-generation improvement, the new design appears to allow stowage of the second row of seats without having to move the front-row seats forward as much. It look like it also involves fewer operations and moving parts, with a portion of the seatback being incorporated into the flat floor when the seats are stowed, as opposed to having a completely separate cover.
It's possible that the innovation may appear on the next-generation minivans expected in 2015, but Chrysler isn't commenting on the patent.
