This 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 has been driven with care since I bought the vehicle in 2010 with ~108,300 miles. It has been well taken care of ever since. I have a complete list of maintenance records available since I purchased the vehicle. The truck comes with the title and it passed its last inspection (in January). It has a 5.2L V-8, automatic transmission, extended cab, working 4x4, bed liner, sliding rear window, manual windows/locks, as well as an aftermarket stereo system which I added after I bought the truck (brand new radio and four speakers). Radio has iPod connector in glove box, but it is for older iPods. The front tires are pretty much new, and the rear tires were replaced at ~151,000 miles. The truck has hardly any rust (except for one spot of rust on the rear bumper and a very small amount of rust on the bottom of the doors). The frame is rock solid (hard to come by in New England). The truck has some scratches and dents (the only notable scratch/dent is above the driver's side wheel well, which can be seen in the pictures). The engine is also in great shape, and the transmission is the original and does shift (it is showing its age but still shifts well while driving). The interior is in great shape, except for a couple tears in the cloth, and a crack on the center of the dashboard. There is a small star in the windshield. All gauges work. A/C compressor works but it needs to be charged. The check engine light is not on constantly like it is on many trucks of this age. This truck would make a great first car or work truck! I am selling it because I plan on buying a diesel, so I would love it sold as soon as possible. Mechanical work done to the truck includes:

-New stainless steel brake lines (Very valuable in areas with heavy usage of road salt)
-New rocker panels (replaced due to rust). Rockers were painted to match original paint. No rust present.
-New thermostat and gasket
-New serpentine belt
-New water pump and gasket
-Two new O2 sensors
-New fuel pump

At ~151,000 miles:
-New steering gear box
-New tail pipe/muffler/mid pipe/exhaust clamp
-New front brake pads/rotor
-New right front wheel bearing
-New lower transmission line

There are other things, mainly fuel lines and other maintenance things listed in the vehicle's service records. CASH ONLY PLEASE. NO MONEY TRANSFERS.
Thank you.

Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.

Dodge pulls New Girl and The Office stars for new Dart spots

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

Dodge is hoping that a heavy dash of humor helps it move some more units of the Dart with a hilarious ad campaign called Don't Touch My Dart. The spots star actors Craig Robinson, best known for his role as Darryl on The Office, and Jake Johnson from New Girl as neighbors and friends playing a game of one-upmanship over Robinson's new car. Johnson is envious of the ride and just wants to touch it.
The ads are pretty funny if you're a fan of somewhat absurdist humor, and Robinson has just the right amount of over-the-top seriousness to really make the commercials work. They have kind of a Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote vibe with Johnson constantly in inept pursuit of what he wants, but he clearly isn't getting it.
The first four spots in the campaign are already online, but according to Dodge this is just the beginning. The company says that it's planning about 24 different versions of these ads in various lengths to play on TV and online. You can check out the ads titled First Scratch, Birdhouse Police Garage Door and Voice Touching below, along with the brand's release about the new ads. There's also a pretty good gag on its YouTube page with Robinson protecting his Dart.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
