Read entire description before bidding:
I am not the original owner.  I bought this truck to do yard work with and haul mulch around.  It has been very reliable over the last two years. I have taken it on many long distance drives over the last two years as well - over 800 miles round trip.  Recently the truck started to buck a bit on the highway and seemed to misfire.  If I turn of the overdrive the problem clears and the truck seems to run and drive fine.  It idles perfectly smooth and the 4x4 works perfectly.  The truck does not burn oil.  I am not going to put money into this above and beyond the recent work done to fix the problem (read below for work done).

As you can see from the pictures, the passenger side has some body damage but it is not bad for what it is.  The driver's side is fine with very few body dings.  At some point before I bought it the truck was repainted so the paint shines nicely when detailed as do the wheels and rims.  The wheels are bigger than standard and the truck has a nice look to it.  The tires are in great shape and should last a long time.  I bought them for this truck new.

I removed the headliner and carpet from the cab to eliminate the oders from the previous owner and I painted the floor with a heavy bed liner and installed heavy rubber floor mats.  I also put a steering wheel cover and seat covers on as you can see from the picture.  All electronics including the stereo work as they should.  the air blows so cold I cant leave it on high.  Same with the heat.
one other problem that I know of is the master brake cylinder gives out from time to time and the peddle needs to be pumped a bit.  easy fix.

I do want to also point out that the steering wheel is not perfectly centered when driving in a straight line.  The truck does not really pull to one side so probably needs an alignment.  Never bothered with this as it didn't bother me.
The dashboard above the steering wheel is cracked but.  This is a work truck... don't expect it to be perfect in any way.

What I did to the truck over the last 3 months (while trying to fix it up):
-Replaced the radiator
-new wires, plugs and distributor cap + rotor
-new coil
-new battery end caps
-new 02 sensor
-new crank shaft position sensor
-new water pump and pulley tensioner
-new thermostat
-new brake pads and cylinders in the rear on both sides
-new front windshield (old one was cracked)

Again, this truck looks great when cleaned up, runs well and idles fine.  The engine is strong.  The truck develops a bucking above 50mph which I think may be related to the transmission.  It clears if you hit the over drive button.
At this point I am not spending money to fix it up.
If you know these trucks and have the ability to work on it, it would be a great one to fix up.  It is strong, clean and pretty much rust free.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

In the first picture, the fender and hood seem not to line up, I had the hood unlatched. Sorry about that. They line up perfectly when the hood is latched.

Watch these Super Bowl car commercials [UPDATE]

Sat, Feb 2 2019

On Sunday, February 3, the New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Some will watch because of the storyline of the old-school dynasty facing off against the new-school wunderkinds, but a large chunk of people will solely be watching for the commercials. Lucky for those who slot into the latter category, many of the manufacturers release their super bowl ads ahead of time, or have simply opted to release the commercials only online. Scroll down to see what car companies have already shown their cards. Audi Audi goes the comedic route in its clip for the Big Game. It starts with a grandpa showing his grandson a gorgeous Audi e-tron GT tucked away in a garage before he's shaken awake. Turns out he was just choking on a cashew in his cubicle at his boring job. Dodge Dodge does what it knows: create enough smoke to punch more holes in the ozone layer. Set to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia (the Super Bowl is in Atlanta, get it!?), a Challenger SRT Hellcat widebody, Charger SRT Hellcat, and Durango SRT are seen ripping through a city, leaving a trail of rubber crumbs in their wakes. Genesis Genesis has not yet released a commercial prior to the Super Bowl, but it is the official luxury vehicle of the NFL. Because of this, Genesis is hosting a fan experience for 10 days before the game. It will showcase the brand's cars, offer games, and have photos opportunities and autograph days. Hyundai Jason Bateman alert! Hyundai is one of the few companies to hook a major celebrity for its advertisement, and the casting is perfect. Bateman plays a doorman who takes people to various terrible events in life, including root canals, the middle seat, and shopping for a car. The ad centers around Hyundai's Shopper Assurance, which is Hyundai's new method for car shopping. Jeep An old 1963 Jeep Gladiator finds its strength in the crusher and transforms into a a new 2020 Gladiator, with a firm declaration that the nameplate is officially back. Kia Through Kia's commercial, a young boy wonders out loud what it'd be like if the millions spent on Super Bowl commercials were used to help others.

2.1 million vehicles recalled again over faulty airbags

Sat, Jan 31 2015

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Honda and Toyota will recall 2.1 million vehicles to fix faulty airbag modules "after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles." These vehicles had all previously been recalled, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the airbags could still potentially malfunction. This recall will cover Acura MDX, Dodge Viper, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Honda Odyssey, Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix and Toyota Avalon models made in the early 2000s. NHTSA has reportedly received about 40 reports of airbag deployment in such vehicles, even though the vehicle had not been involved in a crash. Roughly one million of these same vehicles, all from Honda and Toyota, are also subject to recalls due to faulty Takata airbag modules, though this particular recall is for "an electronic component manufactured by TRW" that is separate from the actual airbags from Takata. According to NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind: "This is unfortunately a complicated issue for consumers, who may have to return to their dealer more than once. But this is an urgent safety issue, and all consumers with vehicles covered by the previous recalls should have that remedy installed. Even though it's a temporary solution until the new remedy is available, they and their families will be safer if they take the time to learn if their vehicle is covered and follow their manufacturers' instructions. A hassle is much better than a family tragedy." If you're the owner of an affected car, expect to hear more from the official automaker and government channels in short order. In the meantime, we'd suggest getting your car checked and fixed at your local dealer. The official statement and recall information can be found below. Previously Recalled Vehicle Remedies Not Working as Designed; NHTSA Announces Follow up Recall of 2.12 Million Cars and SUVs Saturday, January 31, 2015 Contact: Gordon Trowbridge, 202-366-9550, Public.Affairs@dot.gov WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced today the recall of more than 2.12 million Acura, Dodge, Jeep, Honda, Pontiac, and Toyota vehicles for a defect that may cause airbags to deploy inadvertently. The recalls will provide vehicle owners with a new remedy after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles.

I sold my Viper, but the memories I'll keep

Thu, 30 May 2013

The following is written by auto industry veteran Tow Kowaleski. The words are his own, but the memories now belong to everyone thanks to his willingness to share. If you're an industry veteran with a story to share, contact us at tipsATautoblogDOTcom.
It became the flame that started the fire of belief in the next life of Chrysler.
I just sold a car. Nothing new. Millions do it every day. But my car was a 1995 Dodge Viper, so maybe it was a bit more unique since just 12,000 were built. And like others selling a car that's been a part of the family for close to 20 years, this was a confluence of emotions for me. I was sad to see it go, but happy to have the cash and one less big, shiny, under-utilized object in my life.
