You probably didn't even notice it in the pictures but I'm telling you all I know."

1978 Dodge W200 Custom 4x4. Automatic with the 400 engine. Dana spicer 44 & Dana spicer 60. This truck belonged to an eccentric WWll vet, (who has since passed), who had this vehicle prepared as his "the end is here, lets get out of Dodge" vehicle. He had the back of this truck packed full with the things he would need when he saw the mushroom cloud over Boise. The truck just sat in covered storage most of the time, ready to go. There are thousands of dollars in receipts for things he had done to this truck, for whatever reason. He had a heavy duty radiator put in, overload leaf springs added to the rear, a two stage shift kit put in the transmission, new exhaust system, trailer brakes, heavy duty rear tow bumper and more. The truck is sitting on new Michelin 10 ply tires mounted on beautiful chromed steel rims and has 2 fairly new (95%+tread) mounted 8 ply Uniroyal tires in the back for spares along with two extra Dodge rims. The body is really straight with the exception of two small dings just behind the passenger door, kind of visable in the pictures. There are minor gravel chips and scratches you would expect to see on a truck that has been driven this many miles. (I am presently driving this truck occasionally and expect the mileage to be around 32,000 by the end of September).  He installed a heavy duty rear tow bumper (the original chrome bumper comes with the truck). The canopy was built and purchased in Boise; it is in exceptional condition for its age, is wired, has working lights inside and comes with two locks on the canopy door. The whole back door wall of the canopy unhinges and is removable if you have a need to carry something large. With the condition of the bed I have to assume this canopy has been on the truck pretty much since new. The interior of the truck is hard to believe. Its got a working real classy :) push button am radio. The glass is perfect. There is no a/c. There are a few very small places on the truck that look like touch up paint but I don't know. The following description and pictures are some of what was left in the vehicle when I bought it. I'm not listing everything, but most of what comes with it is listed.
In no particular order: spare water hoses, 2 thermostats, 3 distributer caps, rotors, condensers, points, heavy duty equalizer hitch, 3 carburetor rebuild kits, 2 five gallon gas cans (full), 2 hydraulic jacks, 2 lug wrenches, 1 case of quarts of 30 wt Pennzoil, 1 large box containing brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, 2 gallons of anti freeze and more, 3 control modules, jumper cables, 1 dip stick, 2 sets of spark plug wires, lots of spare belts, upper and lower radiator hoses, 3 radiator caps, Dodge service manual, carburetor service manual, 3 oil filters, 1 air filter, 3 alternators, 1 starter, 1 fuel pump, 3 fan clutches, spare fuses, various packs of bulbs, rolls of wire and I'm sure there is more.If you would like to see more pictures or come see the truck, let me know...Rick...208-866-1121...NO texting please. The successful high bidder must submit a $1000.00 non-refundable payment deposit with PAYPAL within 24 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. I will not take PAYPAL for final payment or balance. I will take U.S. or Wells Fargo certified bank check or cash in person only for final payment no exceptions. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. This truck is approximately 30 miles west of Boise, Idaho and is being sold in an as is condition. For anyone who flies into Boise to pick up this truck I will pick you up at the airport (baring unforeseen circumstances).

Cars.com runs 11-second quarter with Dodge Charger Hellcat

Mon, Jun 1 2015

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and its Challenger sibling are two of the heroes of the modern performance world. With a headline-grabbing 707 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, their output even shames many supercars. But how quick can one really cover a quarter mile? Cars.com recently decided to find out by taking a Charger Hellcat to the drag strip to see if the sedan lived up to Dodge's 11-second claims. The results were quite impressive. After 13 quarter-mile runs of adjusting variables like the tire pressures and the car's various electronic aids, the Charger Hellcat managed a pass in 11.03 seconds at 126.61 mph – the pinnacle result of the day. This car was mechanically stock and wore the optional Pirelli P Zero tires. According to Cars.com, other quick sprints reached 11.09 seconds and 11.1 seconds, which even beat the site's 11.41-second best from a Challenger Hellcat last year. Getting the Hellcat's prodigious power down without losing traction was a challenge, even on the summer tires. Cars.com thought it had a run that could have dropped below 11 seconds, but then the wheels spun. Using the factory-recommended pressures, the Charger Hellcat was no still slouch with an 11.27-second time recorded, but taking things down to 25 psi proved the quickest at the strip. We already knew that the Charger Hellcat was a wonderful vehicle for eating up huge gulps of asphalt at high speeds and could verify its 204-mile-per-hour top speed (quite a bit faster, incidentally, than the Ferrari California T's 196 mph top-speed). Apparently, the 11-second quarter-mile claim is just as accurate. Also, for any curious owners, the Cars.com story divulges many of the tweaks required to reach this seriously quick time. Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.
