1991 Dodge Crew Cab Diesel Cummins 4x4 on 2040-cars
Yorba Linda, California, United States
So if your looking for a first generation crew cab, this project this might be of interest to you. Its a 1991 that was professionally converted to a crew cab by Salem Kroger in Red Bluff California. The frame was cut and lengthened in order to accommodate the crew cab. All running gear is the 1991 factory gear. Mechanically the truck runs and drives good. The motor starts right up and does not appear to have any modifications done to it. It has the diesel version of the 727 three speed auto trans (no overdrive), it shifts smooth, records show it was rebuilt when the truck had about 46k miles on it. Brakes, drums, rotors, and master cylinder have all been recently redone. The cab, doors, fenders and hood of the truck are pretty straight but has peeling paint. The roof drip rail does have some rust issues on the front passenger side. The front doors have electric windows and locks with the back being manual. The interior of the truck is complete but not in good condition. The head liner is sagging, the front seat needs to be reupholstered, at a minimum the carpet cleaned, the door panels in the front are loose and need attachment clips. All of the gauges work, it also has an aftermarket boost and EGT and electric brake controller. The factory windshield wiper switch on the column and the horn do not work. The wipers run off a separate toggle switch. The exterior of the bed is also pretty straight but the interior is not in great condition. The truck has been used most of its life as a work truck for a landscaping company so the bed is well worn with cracking in several areas. May be able to be repaired or easier to replace. If you looking for a 1st gen crew cab it may be easier to start with this as most of the heavy lifting is done and is factory, rather than convert an old one. Thanks for looking and you can call me with any questions 714-394-2776.

Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production
Wed, Dec 10 2014Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.

Dodge Durango gets the Blacktop treatment
Sat, 09 Aug 2014The Dodge Durango is getting a meaner, more aggressive look as it becomes the latest model from the brand to wear the Blacktop Appearance Package. The upgrades are strictly cosmetic, but they lend the SUV a more assertive demeanor that some buyers like.
Available on the SXT, Limited and R/T (shown above) models, all Blacktop Durangos get black 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust, bod- color fascia and gloss black trim. The grille surround, air dam, mirrors and headlight surrounds all get the inky treatment, as well. The improvements add $1,590 to the cost of the SXT. They come to $1,990 on the Limited but also include HID headlights with LED running lights and a leather interior. Finally, R/T buyers only need to pay $295 for the upgrades. The Blacktop Durango hits showrooms this October.
If you're already in the market for a Durango but want a dash more style with no added performance, the Blacktop might not be a bad way to go. It certainly gives the SUV a bit more edge than it has in stock form. Scroll down to read the full release.
