Nice solid old Dodge truck. 318-2bbl, runs good, does have a bit of piston slap, and will need valve seals eventually, as it puffs once in a while. Still runs nice and may last forever like that. A-833 4-speed on floor, throwout bearing is making noise, I would suggest a new clutch, pressure plate and bearing. Found a kit online for $90. Power steering works as it should, cooling system has been flushed and fresh anti freeze added, recent complete tune up done. Needs a new choke thermostat (about $15) so she's a little cold blooded until it warms up. Manual brakes, discs on front. Brakes work well, and the truck goes down the road good. My son put about 500 miles on this in a few weeks with no problems. Also has a new battery. Exhaust is single, and in good shape. Glass is good, all lights work, this is a NON-A/C truck. Heater works good. This is the perfect truck to throw a Mopar big block in, or a nice potent Mopar small block, or you can just drive it reliably, as it is. Truck is pretty straight and solid. I see no evidence of any prior body work done, so there is nothing hiding. Someone painted the grille black. There is no tailgate, but there is a good sized metal tool box in it. As for rust, there are a couple of minor things. Lower radiator support is rusty in two spots, but not as bad as most. Bottom of driver's side door has a bit of rust, and there is one dime sized hole on the driver's side where the seat belt bolts in. The rest of the cab is very solid. This truck has never been in snow/salt. The bed has rust above the wheel wells, and some rust holes inside it. The roof is very solid, with just a bit of rust on the drip rail above the windshield. Wheels are not original to the truck, and we don't have the original ones. Tires have decent tread yet, they are 15 inch. All in all, it's a pretty solid old truck. These are hard to find in nice restorable condition as this one is. Usually, they are really nice and a ton of money, or they are junk. This one still has lot's of life left in it. There is no reserve, and I feel this is a very reasonable price for this truck. It's located in Ocala, Florida 34470. Can be picked up here, or you may arrange your own shipping. No tire kickers, I described the truck accurately, no hemmin' and hawin' once you get here. A $100 deposit is required through paypal within 24 hours of the auction's close. Truck must be picked up and paid for in cash within 3 days of the auction's close, unless you contact me and make prior arrangements. You're going to get a good old truck for the money!

MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.

High-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT spied

Fri, Sep 9 2016

Dodge is working diligently on revamping its lineup with new and refreshed models, including the high-performance Durango SRT due in 2017. Spy shooters captured a Durango with an aggressive front end that appears to fit the SRT bill, though it could just be a refreshed Durango. This Citadel-badged prototype is nearly identical to the current three-row SUV. The front fascia, which is being held in place by tape and has numerous rough edges, features a massive vent at the bottom and a distinct, three-holed air intake system just below the grille. The grille is also lacking the Durango's cross-like design. The front end appears to have gaping holes on both sides, with the right side being covered up by tin foil. The extra vents could be there for aerodynamic purposes, for cooling purposes, or just a pair of fog lights that Dodge doesn't want people to see. The high-performance SUV is expected to get a full makeover on the outside, which includes sportier wheels, a more aggressive hood, athletic body panels, and some aerodynamic components. The meat of the SUV, the engine, is still a mystery. While the Hellcat brothers feature a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a previous report by Automotive News claims the upcoming Durango SRT will be powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The 475-horsepower motor is currently in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Regardless of what type of engine the Durango will have, it looks like Dodge really is working on a high-performance SUV to enter the continually-growing segment. Highway To Hellcat: Dallas to Vegas with 2,000 HP

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Fort Davis, TX. Early November. Late Sunday afternoon. The 1,200 residents of this small town are using their day of rest to quietly enjoy the breeze rolling off the hills. There's an older couple walking down the street, holding hands. A young lady working at a general store, where milkshakes and antacids are purchased at the same counter. It's a peaceful, quaint scene, right down to the tumbleweed rolling across the street and the rickety wooden porches outside the old storefronts. I hit the throttle of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat while turning left onto the road leading toward the town square, sending the sedan's rear end swinging to the right with a few puffs of rubbery smoke. I coast down to the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit and spot the line of Challengers, Chargers, and Vipers in my rear-view mirror, the drivers all mimicking my quick jolt of enthusiasm before pulling up the reigns on their V8s and V10s and idling into Fort Davis. Our posse would roll some 5,000 horsepower of pure American muscle into that small Texas town that day. It was only the first stop on an epic journey that would take us from Dallas to Las Vegas, on a winding route down toward El Paso, up through New Mexico, Arizona, and finally north into Nevada, ending at the ritzy Palazzo casino and hotel on the Vegas strip. It was an opportunity to see parts of America I never knew existed, and a chance to bond with some American cars that until recently, I sort of failed to understand. And most importantly it was an opportunity to drive really, really hard. Charging Through Texas Unless you've driven across it, it's hard to understand the massive space that is Texas. In places, scanning 360 degrees of horizon reveals absolutely nothing. Nothing. On its own, driving from Dallas to El Paso covers some 630 miles. Veer south to Fort Davis and you'll add another 70 onto that, not including the 75-mile Davis Mountain Scenic Loop where I found bliss behind the wheel of this insanely powerful sedan. I always expected to like the Charger Hellcat – comfortable seating for four (five in a pinch), equipped with the latest tech, wrapped in a stylish yet muscular body, like a quarterback in a tux. And it moves. The supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 pumps out 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which makes for one quick sedan, especially considering its heft.
