1979 Dodge Little Red Express on 2040-cars
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States
Here is the Little Red Express you have been looking for! This truck is original, numbers matching, with original wheels and correct size tires! This truck was "rebuilt" a few years ago by the 3rd owner. I'm the 4th owner and I bought this truck in 2007, and I have put less than 1000 miles on it. I just wash it and take it to car shows where it has 2 Best of Show awards. The Little Reds were only made in 1978 & 1979, and they were the fastest production vehicles both years. There were only 5118 1979 Little Reds, so there aren't many left. You will look long and hard to find another one this nice. This truck has the original 360 which was specially equipped for the Little Red. It has the original transmission, 727 with a special 2500 stall convertor that just came in the Little Reds. It has a limited slip rear end which was rebuilt and new Moser alloy axles. Many suspension and brake parts are new, and check out the WHEELS! They are original and look brand new! It has the original "dual snorkel" air cleaner, and the "stacks" look brand new. I would rate the paint at an 8.5 to a 9.0, there are a couple blemishes. The wood in the box and sides looks great, may be due for some varnish. The interior is excellent, the seat was recovered with an OEM replacement cover and new OEM replacement carpet. And did I mention that this truck is FAST? It is a blast to drive and turns heads wherever you go! If you are looking for an original Little Red, you won't find a better example. Please email me with questions or more pictures at investwithmark@hotmail.com. I would encourage you to come and take a look for yourself! You won't be sorry. |

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat revving is sonic bacon
Fri, 23 May 2014This is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and we're sure that by now, you know its stats, including over 600 horsepower from its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. What, pray tell, does that blown engine sound like, though?
At least judging on the sonic strength of this video, it's very, very dirty. Honestly, it sounds unlike anything that's come out of the Chrysler Group in a long time, if ever. It's loud, almost brutally so, with a bark that few road-going V8s can match.
Of course, you should be the final judge here. Take a look and a listen at the two videos below, one of which comes from our friends at Cars.com that provides a nice look under the hood, and then let us know what you think of the Hellcat's singing voice in Comments.
Help find Kenny Wayne Shepherd's stolen 1972 Dodge Charger
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Judging by his collection of cars, blues musician Kenny Wayne Shepherd (shown above, at left, with fellow musician George Thorogood) is an enthusiast of classic Dodge muscle cars, so it's no surprise that he is an active member of Mopar-related online communities. When his 1972 Dodge Charger turned up missing from an LA-area warehouse last Wednesday, Shepherd took to the forums of Moparts.org in an attempt to get the word out in hopes of recovering his custom classic.
The Charger was stolen along with four other vehicles, and Hot Rod reports that two women have been taken into custody since - but still no word on the car. With its blacked-out appearance (including custom Foose wheels), this car is definitely hard to miss, but Shepherd also said that the car might be even more distinguishable now due to some body damage that may have occurred as it was being driven from the warehouse lot. Shepherd's website has a full gallery of images for this '72 Charger, which also has a modern 392-cubic-inch V8 under the hood and a six-speed gearbox pulled from a Viper.
If you're in the LA area and happen to see this car, Shepherd asks that you call the LAPD West Valley Division at 818-374-7611. Here's to hoping this one-of-a-kind Charger turns up unscathed.
Dodge Vipers selling for $480k in China
Wed, Apr 29 2015Want to get your hands on a new Dodge Viper? Be prepared to pay dearly. It starts at nearly $90k here in the US, but that's nothing compared to what you'd have to pay for one if you lived in, say, China. CarsNewsChina.com reports on one Viper available in Beijing for an eye-watering 298 million yuan – equivalent to about $480,000 at today's exchange rates and representing more than a 500-percent markup. Part of that premium comes down to the Chinese tax code that charges a reported 60 percent for anything with an engine displacing over four liters. And the Viper's, we needn't remind you, is more than twice that. It naturally costs some to import a car to China as well, but most of the rest is pure profit. The Beijing dealership reportedly gets the cars from dealers in California, has already sold three and plans to import several more. The dealer can also get you (or wealthy Chinese individuals) a Corvette Stingray for a comparatively cheap 1.73 million yuan (or $280k). Related Video:
