Hello,

Up for auction is a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express truck. This truck needs a complete and total restoration but in my opinion is 90% there. It is a running and driving vehicle that runs really strong. The drive-train on this old truck is near perfect. Most of these trucks have issues with oil pressure where this one runs nearly 40lbs constantly. The transmission shifts at all the right points. The steering is near perfect as well as the brake system with little to no hesitation. It has the original 360 c.i motor and 727 transmission both sound great with no oil leaks or extra noises. I had the carburetor rebuilt about a year ago and installed a new fuel pump at the same time. The bad of this truck is that there are a few places with dents, dings and rust. For example the drivers side floor needs to be replaced, the rocker panels do have some rust but it is not all the way through. The inside of the cab has some surface rust from the rubber moldings not being on. It is missing the original stacks, wheels and back bumper. This truck is a factory non a/c truck with a sliding rear glass, black leather seats with the center console. It is the true definition of a factory muscle truck!

Gauging reaction to the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit on Detroit highways

Steven Ewing and I kind of pretended to be cops a few weeks ago. No, not in the illegal way; we just took turns driving the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit around Detroit and its suburbs, learning invaluable life lessons along the way. A lot of those lessons came in the form of weird reactions from other drivers. Steve peeved his neighbors by surprising them in the parking lot, I can damn close to sitting in jail next to a murderer and we both caught our fair share of evil-eyed glances. One of my very first observations was a pronounced "bubble effect" when driving in traffic on the highway. Attempting to recreate the effect for the video camera, I grabbed Senior Producer Chris McGraw and we went for a ride in the name of pseudo psychology. The results weren't exactly as we'd predicted, but we had fun all the same. Get one more dose of your cop car fix, above.

Jay Leno's 426-powered 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 is simple and simply fun

This week on Jay Leno's Garage, the man in denim presents one of his most subdued-looking cars, a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500. Despite that, it's one of his favorites. As he shows, the car is nearly free of any unnecessary options, excepting bucket seats and a console shifter. At least those are the only visible options, since the original owner also opted for the massive 426 cu. in. Hemi V8. What Leno really likes about the car is the honking huge V8 combined with the car's simplicity, especially the lack of frivolities like scoops, stripes, and wings. It's finished in a low-key, dark metallic green, and has plain-Jane "dog dish" wheel covers. The one downside to the vehicle is the lack of stopping and turning ability, Leno says, which is not surprising considering the four-wheel drum brakes and lack of power assist. And keep in mind, the Coronet is not a small car. Still, it's a mean green machine, and it sounds great. Leno also demonstrates the engine's capability to chirp the tires going into second gear, despite having a three-speed automatic and a relatively tall 3.23 rear axle gear ratio. The supercharged Challenger with VIN 0001 has been hand-painted in Stryker Red (usually reserved for the Viper) and features special badging, documentation and accompanying memorabilia - not to mention, of course, that 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. The car will be on display this weekend as well at Barrett-Jackson's Hot August Nights auction in Reno.
