1978 Dodge Little Red Express NO RESERVE Very good condition, only 2188 produced in 1978. It was the fastest vehicle produced in 1978. Has the 360 police engine with a 727 automatic transmission. Runs and drives great. Odometer shows 41670 miles, the previous owner stated it was original, however I have no documentation to prove it. The truck shows evidense that it was repainted. There is no evidense of any body work being done to the truck. The paint shows very nice, there are some scrapes and dings. The wood also looks nice but is showing some wear. The interior is in nice shape, with a bench seat. The dash has some holes, looks like gauges at some time. There is a hole in the floor where a floor shifter was previously mounted. Aftermarket radio with CD. All factory guages work. The headlights, taillights and brake lights work fine. The horn does not work. I never tried the wipers or heater, but I will check on those. I grew up with a good friend who's father had bought a 1978 and 1979 Little Red Express truck new and we loved sitting in the bed going for rides, the sound of the exhaust roaring from the stacks. This truck is the real thing. Runs and drives great. Selling at NO RESERVE. You don't see these for sale often. The truck is titled in my name. Mopar '15 performance kit now available for Dodge Charger R/T
Tue, Jun 9 2015Dodge is releasing a new Mopar performance kit for the 2015 Charger R/T sedan, offering up just 50 examples of the dealer-installed upgrade package. Only a select few dealers will sell the kit, and they'll do so at a price of $3,550. As per usual, the Mopar kit makes both performance and aesthetic changes. For the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, upgrades include the Stage 1 Scat Pack kit, which adds a cat-back exhaust and cold-air intake, good for 18 additional horsepower and 18 more pound-feet of torque. There's also a new strut tower brace and a "premium fuel powertrain control module." Aesthetic changes are remarkably simple, with matte black body-side decals being the only notable addition to the exterior. In the cabin, there's a serialized dash plaque and new door sill plates. This is the sixth Mopar special edition since 2009. If you wish to join this fairly exclusive fraternity of Dodge owners, dealers are currently accepting orders, with deliveries slated to start later this month. 2015 Dodge Challenger gets 6.4L 485-HP V8 Scat Pack
Thu, 17 Apr 2014While it's not seeing the drastic facelift of its brother, the Charger, at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the 2015 Challenger is packing some upgrades of its own. It wears even more retro-inspired styling cues, and there are new 6.4-liter Scat Pack and Shaker trims.
If you thought the Challenger looked retro before, Dodge is taking things even farther with inspiration for the refresh coming from the iconic 1971 model. Up front, it has a new split grille, a larger power bulge in the hood and projector fog lights. At the rear, the classic inspiration continues with split LED taillights with Gloss Black trim, and a rear valance panel redesigned to make the 2015 model look wider and lower.
The '71 motif is carried inside as well with a high-sill center console and aluminum gauge bezels. There's still more than a touch of modernity, with an available 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and 7-inch customizable display between the retro-inspired speedometer and tachometer. For better safety, the Challenger is also now available with forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection. Stability control and electric power steering are standard across all models too.
Dodge performance trio thrashed on Roadkill
Tue, Apr 14 2015Of all the shows that Motor Trend does, Roadkill is probably the last one we'd pick to evaluate the latest performance automobiles. That's not a slight against David Freiburger or Mike Finnegan, who host the show: they're certified gear-heads and the go-to guys when it comes to hot rods, rat rods and anything grungier than it is shiny. But as exemplary as they are of Detroit muscle, the Charger Hellcat, Challenger Hellcat and Viper are also shiny new pieces of metal. Still, since it will now be sponsoring the show, someone at Dodge apparently thought it would be a good idea to hand Freiburger and Finnegan the keys to the company's top performance models. So to ring the best out of them, they solicited help from some of their colleagues at MT, gained access to a closed-down air strip, devised as many ways as they could to destroy the tires, and proceeded to set about doing exactly that.
