For your consideration is this cool old 1971 Dodge D-100. My Grandfather bought this truck new. He was a mechanic and when he wanted to change something on this truck he did it. I got the truck from him a few years ago and at that time it had of all things an old G.M. diesel in it. That blew up shortly thereafter and because the mounts were relatively the same, I put in the small block Chevy and 700 R4 overdrive that it has now. It is a 4 wheel drive now with an International transfer case (divorced) and 1/2 ton front end. It also has the power steering box from the International truck and it all works together well. The rear end is a Ford one ton and both front and rear differentials are the same ratio so the 4 wheel drive works properly. The gas tank has been relocated from behind the seat to under the bed between the fraimrails. This does make the inside much more comfortable as you now have some leg room. The truck has working A/C. The under dash unit is from a 65 Mustang and it will freeze you out if you want it to. This truck is geared high with the overdrive trans and cruises comfortably at 75 MPH taching about 2400 RPM. It runs and drives great and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a long trip however I make no guarantees for it. The driver's door glass is cracked and the pictures don't show it but while the paint is shiny it does have it's share of knicks scratches etc. Forgive me all Dodge fans for this blasphemy it was not entirely my fault and now you all have the chance to buy it and rescue it from the great running Chevy that powers it or just drive a cool old truck the way it is. Old vs. New: 2014 SRT Viper takes on upgraded 16-year-old Dodge Viper

It's easy to play the "Would you rather have a New X or an Old Y with a bunch of upgrades?" game more often than we care to admit, but the crew at Car and Driver have taken bench racing to the next level with their latest video. In it, the magazine pits a brand-new 2014 SRT Viper against a highly modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. There are 16 years between the time this particular GTS rolled off the production line and when the new car bowed, but that doesn't mean the old snake's owners have been sitting on their hands.
Thanks to a spate of modifications, the GTS offers up a better power to weight ratio than the new machine, but is that enough to overcome the technological leap forward represented by the 2014 Viper? We won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to check out the full clip below for yourself.

Dodge Challenger Hellcat X is 805-hp worth of charity [w/video]

Donating to charity is good for the soul. You feel good and help out those in need, and while you should donate out of the goodness of your heart, there's nothing wrong with getting something in return. That's doubly true if that something (or somethings) happen to run on gasoline... a lot of gasoline. For just $3 (plus $40,000 in taxes), you could park not one, but two high-powered Mopars in your driveway. The big item, of course, is the world's most powerful Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Dubbed the Hellcat X after the XF6F, a twin-charged US Navy prototype that evolved into the Hellcat fighter from World War II. Its 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 has been supplemented by a turbocharger, boosting output to 805 horsepower. Because, you know, 707 just wasn't quite enough. It should be noted that the Hellcat X isn't a production model – Fiat Chrysler isn't going to be putting a twin-charged Hemi into production Â– but that it's a one-off job built for the 2015 Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle. Joining the Hellcat X is a handsome, black 1970 Challenger 440 R/T. Complete with a four-barrel carburetor (yeah, we were hoping for a Six Pack, as well), a pistol-grip shifter, and menacing black paint, this exact car was the star of 2012's "Revolution Reborn" television spot. And if this car's on-air claim to fame isn't enough, rest easy knowing you're the owner of just one of 100 black 440 R/Ts produced in 1970. Now, single tickets do start at $3, although there are larger bundles available, including a $5,000, 6,000-ticket package. Proceeds from the drawing, which is being put on by Dream Giveaway, will go towards New Beginning Children's Home charity, which issues grants to everything from the National Guard Educational Foundation to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
