1953 Dodge Pickup. Frame Off restoration. All panels were painted both both sides prior to re-assembly. Rear fenders have Rhino Lining underneath. Truck is originally from Minnesota. Was in storage from 1975 until I bought it. Restoration took 7 years (mostly due to cost).
318 V-8 engine was rebuilt by Competition Engines in Raritan NJ (known for drag racing at Englishtown). Engine has been hopped up with the following: Edelbrock Performane Cam # EDL-2177, Edelbrock Performance Intake Manifold # EDL-2176, Edelbrock Timing Chain # EDL-7803, Edelbrock Polished Aluminum Valve Covers # EDL-4295, Edelbrock 600 CFM Marbuerator # 1405, Manley Performance Valves & Valve Springs. Custom headers ceramic coated by Jet-Hot Coatings. Dual three inch exhaust through flowmaster mufflers. Three inch side exhaust through chrome extensions. The sound is pretty loud but right for this truck. Three speed automatic 727 Torqueflight transmission rebuilt by Midway Transmissions. B&M Shifter. Custom oak bed with polished stainless bed rails. Custom solid oak rear bumper. Custom polished stainless steel grill (I still have the original which goes with the truck). Grant Steering wheel. The steering wheel and the wood on the dash are solid walnut. Alpine AM / FM CD Player. Brushed 15" Aluminum wheels all around. New master brake cylincer and new stainless brake lines (not power brakes but they work fine). Rear is from a 1969 Dodge Coronet (not a posi rear). Truck still has original front end (rebuilt) but is very driveable. All electronics switched over to twelve volt system. Auto-Meter gages. Less than 700 miles since restoration. New White headliner is installed though not shown in Photos. Additional large blue Iron Cross on headliner.
This truck has won many trophies at local auto shows and is unique in it's look.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as the truck is for sale locally. I will not help with shipping via flatbed, etc. Can deliver within reasonable distance of Hillsborough, NJ (I will drive truck there). $500 due at auction end. Balance upon delivery - cash or bank check which we will go to the bank and deposit. (sorry - too many bad checks out there).

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat ringtone revs up [w/video]
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The best (or worst, depending on your views) thing about smartphones is that you're able to carry lots, and lots of useful stuff around in your pocket. That means you can always have a phone, messaging service, email, flashlight, calculator, dictionary, encyclopedia, and literally thousands of other things on your person at all times. Now, we can add one more thing for you to carry about in your little slab of aluminum, glass and plastic - a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Now, you obviously can't carry around a 707-horsepower muscle car around in your pocket. That'd be ridiculous, impractical and uncomfortable. You can, however, carry around the noise made by said muscle car's 6.2-liter, supercharged Hemi V8, thanks to a new, free-to-download ringtone from the folks at Dodge and SRT.
We can't embed the ringtone here, so if you'd like to hear exactly how it'll sound when your phone goes off, you'll need to head over to the SRT Hellcat's page. If that's more trouble than it's worth, the same ringtone was attached to a tiny speaker on the press kit for the mighty Challenger, and was captured on video by our own Seyth Miersma (don't worry, he's already been soundly dressed down for shooting a video in portrait mode).
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat in the works
Fri, 25 Jul 2014In Autoblog's recent First Drive of the 2015 Challenger SRT with the 707-horsepower Hellcat V8 we found its engine to be as brutally powerful as the numbers would suggest, even if it wasn't the best handler. However, the muscle-car-styling just isn't right for some buyers that need four doors and proper rear seats to haul around the family. It appears that Dodge has their backs, though, because the Hellcat is very likely on its way into the Charger in the near future. Imagine the looks on your passengers' faces when you stomp down on the throttle.
According to Road and Track, when Dodge submitted the Hellcat for engine power certification to the Society of Automotive Engineers, the company included the Charger on the paperwork. That showed that the automaker wanted the engine checked out for the sedan, too. R&T reckons the 707-hp Charger would hit the road about a year from now, clearing the Challenger for a year of exclusivity with the powerplant.
When the Charger SRT Hellcat does hit the road, it may carry a very special accolade. Assuming nothing beats it in the meantime, it might be the world's highest horsepower production sedan. Think on that for a second. Even a Mercedes S65 AMG only has 621 horsepower, though a good bit more torque at 738 pound-feet to the Dodge's 650 lb-ft. So while the beastly engine is getting put into other models, where else would you like to see it? The Ram? Grand Cherokee? Let us know in Comments.
Dodge Grand Caravan to live in fleets through 2017
Mon, Jun 22 2015After a hard-working career of hauling around families for decades, the Dodge Grand Caravan name was set to retire in 2016 under FCA's five-year plan for the US. The decision would have put all of the automaker's focus behind the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, but that original strategy might have changed. Now, Dodge's minivan may have to work just a few more years before it can finally shuffle off. There are set to be 2016 and 2017 model year examples of the current Grand Caravan, according to an internal FCA production document obtained by Automotive News. This report suggests no changes in the minivan between those two years, and there's no mention of the company's intentions deeper into the future. "While we've announced the Grand Caravan will eventually be the minivan that goes away, we're not going into more detail at this time," a Dodge spokesperson said to AN. For the next Town & Country, production would start in Windsor, Ontario, in late February 2016. This document also suggests a brief run of 2016 Chrysler minivans based on the current model from August 2015 until February 2016. Automotive News speculates that the reprieve for the Grand Caravan could allow that model to focus on fleets and the Canadian market while the new Town and Country gets up and running. The latest generation T&C will reportedly debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and will possibly carry a higher price to befit a vehicle with a more modern platform and improved tech.
