This 53 is a Real Head Turner, attracts attention wherever it goes, not many Custom 53 Dodge B4B's out there, especially as unique as this one.  This was built as a Pilot House Cab, but with a Low Side bed, which gives the truck a very unusual profile, add in the staggered wheels and tires and the truck has a Very aggressive stance.  Most of the body work was completed around 1996, with some updates made around 1999 (Candy Ghost Flames), as well as powertrain changes.  Originally a Farm Truck done in the typical two tone Red and Black with a flat head 6 with 3 spd manual, NOW done in Prowler Purple with a 318 V-8 with a 3 spd Auto (727) floor shift, front end has been changed to a Fat Man frontend with disc brakes and coil over suspension, rear suspension is original leaf style, but with an upgraded rear end courtesy of a 70's Charger.  After I purchased the truck I made a change to the front Springs (needed more clearance), upgraded the wheels and tires, added dual exhaust, and had the whole interior re-done, adding a hidden STS Stereo, also added was Under Body Lighting (it will blink to the music, if you want) Of course this is all hidden as well.  When the body work was completed, custom side boards as well as a custom rear valance were installed to finish off the look, The bed is the traditional Oak Plank, with about 7 layers of lacquer.  Even after all this time the truck will still win paint awards, Our most recent award, it won the "Royal Purple" Award (May 2013).

As for Driving, the truck drives really well, surprisingly controlled for a short wheel base, the rear gears are 3.23 so not to aggressive, and NO you can't spin the rear Meats, change the gears if that's your thing.  The engine does have a manual choke for those chilly mornings, but otherwise will start very quickly.  You do have a Flaming River column with tilt wheel which is holding a Mahogany steering wheel (Real Beauty), Just replaced the original fuel tank (13gal) with a 17 gal due to some minor weeping, I guess after 61 years it was finally getting tired of just hanging around.  One other thing you may notice in the under pics, its hard to tell whats up with the oil pan, but just so you know, the oil pan was modified to work with the Fat Man front end, it has a step in it, so just in case your wondering what your seeing that's it.  There are a couple of small flaws in the finish, that don't show very well in photos, not sure why, but anyway, there are almost matching marks at the bottom front corners of both doors, its not rust because it hasn't changed in the just over 3 years I've owned the truck, the only other visible blemish is a touched up chip where the left butterfly opens past the center section, probably an adjustment issue that was later corrected.

Hopefully the Pic's can do some justice for this truck, but it truly is much better in person.  I do kind of hate to see it go, but as any car guy knows, after a few years you find and move on to another project, and that exactly what's going on here.  If I've missed any info, nick nacks, or tid bits just send me an email or call me (work), I'll respond as quick as I can.  If you don't see a particular shot you want to see, let me know, I probably have it and can send it directly to your email.

The usual Ebay stuff applies - Being Sold AS-IS, Where is NO WARRANTY expressed or implied.  You should have your money available before bidding, if you win you must pay.  I can assist with loading if shipping needs arranged, but your responsible for arranging shipping, I have worked with a couple companies and can pass along their names if needed, Local pick-up is also allowed, and Local inspections are encouraged if you can, and weather permitting, Sorry the truck doesn't come out in bad weather, at least not while I own it.

Ron Burgundy returns for four more Dodge Durango ads

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Dodge has released several more of its Anchorman 2-themed commercials, starring Will Ferrell as inept newsreader Ron Burgundy. The four spots, one of which is a sequel to a previous commercial, follow roughly the same pattern as previous ads, with Ferrell's Burgundy misunderstanding or generally making a fool of himself. For some of the ads, though, Burgundy is selling more than just Durangos - the red-suited host of San Diego's most watched news broadcast shilling the entire Dodge lineup.
We've included all four ads down below, and you can also hope over to our original posts to see some of the older commercials. Oh, and if you're getting tired of these - we aren't, aside from the Do-dge spot - just remember that Ferrell reportedly filmed around 70 ads for Dodge.

Buyer says Dodge dealer gave him wrong Charger, failed to notice for 2 months

Wed, Dec 31 2014

Mistakes happen, and they happen all the time. But when that mistake means a customer doesn't get what he or she paid for, something's gotta give. That's what one Dodge Charger buyer claims he is trying to sort out with his local dealership. Two months after taking delivery, the owner (going by the user name Dakrbouncer4689 on Reddit) says he got a call from his local Dodge dealership reporting a little problem. He had ordered and paid for the Charger SXT (pictured above on the dealer lot), but was given a Charger SE instead. The SE being the lower trim level, this presented one set of problems – namely a $2,000 discrepancy in equipment, like a five-speed automatic versus an eight-speed, a 4.3-inch infotainment display instead of 8.4, heated seats, leather steering wheel, premium audio, remote starter and so on. The second set of issues is that the VIN number on the paperwork (including the registration and insurance papers) of course doesn't match that of the car itself. The dealer, having obviously made a rather large mistake, apparently called the owner in to sort out the mess, but according to the customer's account, things didn't go as smoothly. Instead of immediately working to address the problem, the salesman kept the owner waiting, acted like it was no big deal, and offered only to swap the cars with no compensation for the trouble. Fortunately, the manager proved more sympathetic and apologetic, and offered the customer three options: he could swap the cars (re-doing the tinted windows on the SXT that the customer had done on the SE and throwing in leather seats for free), he could keep the SE (with the dealership handling the paperwork, throwing in the leather seats, adjusting the price and refunding an extra $400), or they could cancel everything, return the car and part company. As we go to press, the Charger owner had yet to make (or at least share) his decision. But while the principle of caveat emptor makes us wonder how he managed to take home a different car from the one he paid for, clearly the salesman and the dealership made a pretty large mistake by presenting him with the wrong set of keys and letting him off the lot without double checking it all.
