1951 Dodge B-1 Series 3/4 Ton Truck On A 1996 Dodge 3500 12v Cummins Chassis on 2040-cars
Goshen, Indiana, United States
I am selling my 1951 dodge b-1 series truck. I purchased the truck in Kansas from the grandson of the original owner in the same town it was purchased new in (this is what I was told but didn't bother to verify) I brought the truck home and removed the body, set it on to a 1996 dodge ram 3500 two wheel drive dually with a 12 valve p-pumped cummins turbo diesel and automatic transmission that we cut and shortened. the cab is completely fitted and secured to frame. the bed is fitted but needs secured yet. the 51 body is showing 50996 miles, the 1996 chassis was showing 119,565 miles. the steering column and steering components are installed and functioning, gas and brake pedal assembly is installed and functional. here is the list of what needs done to finish this project to a running driving truck: rear driveshaft needs shortened and installed, fuel tank needs installed and hooked up (I had a custom made aluminum 25 gal tank made that fits the factory 96 frame mount location and utilizes the factory fill on the 51 cab), brake lines hooked up, intercooler and radiator installed, bed floor built, section of firewall that is cut out made and welded in, exhaust finished ( exhaust ends under bed right now), bottom seat cushion installed (have a new one for it) the 1996 dodge pcm mounted (its hooked up and laying on engine). im sure im forgetting some small things but the hard part is all done. I have a lot of money invested here but I really don't have time to finish it. you can call or text with questions or OFFERS @ 574-361- zero four 4 nine. please no tire kickers or dreamers, serious buyers only, delivery is possible with expenses paid by buyer. if you need permission from your banker, wife, or your mommy, please do that before you call or text me. if you have no mechanical ability what so ever and don't have the money to pay a real mechanic to finish this then don't even think about it, this is a project for grown ups with grown up expectations about life with real tools or a real checking and savings account. if you try to pull a scam with me, beware.. ill come to where you sleep and whisper in your ear just before the pop. DONT WASTE MY TIME. have a pleasant day and god bless.

2014 Dodge Durango Ron Burgundy ads already have 2.7M views [w/videos]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013The guy who once made the Dodge Stratus a punchline of sorts is now a spokesman for the 2014 Dodge Durango, and the move appears to be paying off handsomely for Dodge. Will Ferrell, acting as 1970s-era TV news personality Ron Burgundy, has teamed up with the automaker for co-branded advertisements between the refreshed 2014 Durango and Ferrell's new movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Like Ferrell's fictional character, the ads are outrageous, flamboyant and a bit random. They're also successful: Automotive News says that more than 2.7 million people have already watched the videos since they debuted on October 5.
Those views are similar to the numbers that AN's top viral video of the year (e.g. Volkswagen's "Get Happy" Super Bowl ad) received, but there will eventually be as many as 70 videos comprising the Burgundy-Durango spots. According to the report, the videos were created primarily as a viral campaign online, although some are airing on television, too. For Dodge's part, the cost of the videos was significantly lower than a usual television campaign thanks to the fact that Ferrell wasn't paid for the spots since they were made in cooperation with promotional efforts for his new movie.
We've already posted a few of the videos in our previous post, but scroll down for several more - and head over to Adweek for a little added background on how these spots came to be.
Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger
Sun, 23 Feb 2014When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.
Chrysler recalls 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks
Sat, 09 Nov 2013Chrysler has announced that it will issue three separate recalls that will cover as many as 1.2 million Ram pickup trucks for "steering-system tie rods that may have been misaligned during assembly or steering-system service." The vast majority of these trucks were sold in the United States, though some trucks in Mexico, Canada or overseas will be called in, as well.
The largest of the three recalls covers an estimated 842,400 model-year 2003-2008 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. Two smaller campaigns will bring 294,000 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, chassis cabs and 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 Mega Cabs; plus 43,500 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 4x4 chassis cabs into the dealer to be checked and repaired if necessary.
This is a very large recall, and Chrysler says it is "casting the net wider than necessary to identify those vehicles that require repair." The automaker estimates that "as many as 726,000 may not need repair."
