1948 Dodge Pickup, Solid And Straight , Great Shape on 2040-cars
Bacliff, Texas, United States
This is a super straight old truck other than the one dent in the driver's door which is easily repaired. Each front fender has a rust spot up high by the bolts showing. All these will have the upper rust on the fenders as I just had another 49 the same way. Truck is from Wichita Falls area. Welcome to check it out and inspect it. Truck has a 6 cylinder and 3 speed standard on the column. Needs the windows and glass but it's all straight glass that can be cut. Engine turns over but haven't even tried to start it. Other than the creased dent in the driver's door it really is a very straight and very clean old truck. Paint is shot as you can see and it has looks like the original wood in the bed even though it's not good. I just put the 100,000 miles up top as it could be more or could be less, I didn't even check it. This truck only comes with a Bill Of Sale and no Title. Cash or cashiers check and will need to clear my bank for 3-7 business days. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer although I will available to help. Prefer phone as I don't do much computer 281 793-2197(Joseph)
The cover for the floorpan is laying inside the truck on the floorboard and is all there and in solid and great shape. Body is super clean and I don't believe it has any bondo or filler in it. Bottom of cab, fenders, doors, roof, roof rail gutter, windshield are all clean without any rot. Only rust is surface rust from paint scratches and paint thinning. The one picture showing the rust hole is in top on both fenders. |

Experience the New York Auto Show by drone
Fri, Apr 10 2015The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. 2015 Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car burns rubber into SEMA [w/video]
Tue, 04 Nov 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is showing off a completely redesigned Dodge Charger Funny Car at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas and it's ready to blow through the NHRA timing lights next year. Initially, the shape might look like any of the other entrants in its class burning through the quarter mile, but this is the first comprehensive rethink for the racecar's aerodynamics since 2006, says Dodge.
Draped in classy red and black Mopar livery, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T NHRA Funny Car tries to share the front and rear styling with its roadgoing counterpart, plus the scallops along the side, but this racer is all about crossing the finish line first.
The major goals for the redesign included making the body stronger and lighter without sacrificing aerodynamics, and that has been done with materials like Kevlar and carbon fiber. However, engineers have accomplished even more. By moving the cockpit further back, they've increased engine clearance and improved driver visibility.
It ain't easy keeping a Hellcat steady at 170 mph on ice
Mon, Mar 28 2016The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat you see hit the ice at Arsunda Speed Weekend in Sweden, over two hours north of Stockholm. It's said to be bone stock, save for the studded tires that help it grip on ice. But it apparently takes more than some steel studs and a lead foot to keep it pointed the right way. Just look at how much driver Alx Danielsson has to saw at the wheel to keep the Hellcat from veering off course. Fortunately he seems to have the chops to do so, being not only a native of Sweden (and therefor imbued from birth with otherworldly abilities to drive on ice) but also having won the highly competitive Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship back in 2006. In the end Danielsson hit a top speed in excess of 170 miles per hour, touted as some sort of record, however unofficial (and specific to Dodge Challengers). That's a fair bit shy of the 205 mph that Bentley achieved in the Continental Supersports, but while that model had slightly less power than the Hellcat, it did have the benefit of all-wheel drive – something that could make all the difference in these kinds of slippery conditions.
