Video: 1946 Dodge Truck
The song is Gonna Make You Mine by The Trappers.

Condition:
Truck has some rust and the fenders have small dents.  I would not have it any other way.

The gauges are original to the engine and transmission, not to the truck itself.  While not all the gauges are being used, the interior dash lights add a vintage feel. The transmission does leak a little but runs strong and smooth. The brakes work fine but are a little soft. The front window is fully functional, however it is missing the regulator that goes in the cab.

Description:
1946 Dodge pickup truck with a 330ci HEMI V-8 engine. Powerflite automatic "PUSH BUTTON" transmission.  The truck has been sub framed with a '68 Nova front end and has a '68 Firebird rear differential.  Drum brakes with new master cylinder.  Head lights and park lights work great.  The truck has a very artistic composition with a one of a kind patina finish and has been clear coated for preservation.

The 330 Hemi is complete with original carburetor and oil bath air filter. The motor has all new gaskets and rebuilt heads. New water pump, radiator, thermostat and temperature gauge. The power steering pump is married to the generator and working great. However, a GM alternator is being used for all other electrical and charging needs.

History:
The truck is originally from Tok Alaska and holds an Alaska title. The truck is currently located in Draper, Utah.

The Tok Aero Service lettering on the doors was there when I acquired the truck. I haven't verified that the truck is associated to the Tok Aero Service other than the title is from Tok Alaska.

Disclaimer:

Question of the Day: Most heinous act of badge engineering?

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Badge engineering, in which one company slaps its emblems on another company's product and sells it, has a long history in the automotive industry. When Sears wanted to sell cars, a deal was made with Kaiser-Frazer and the Sears Allstate was born. Iranians wanted new cars in the 1960s, and the Rootes Group was happy to offer Hillman Hunters for sale as Iran Khodro Paykans. Sometimes, though, certain badge-engineered vehicles made sense only in the 26th hour of negotiations between companies. The Suzuki Equator, say, which was a puzzling rebadge job of the Nissan Frontier. How did that happen? My personal favorite what-the-heck-were-they-thinking example of badge engineering is the 1971-1973 Plymouth Cricket. Chrysler Europe, through its ownership of the Rootes Group, was able to ship over Hillman Avanger subcompacts for sale in the US market. This would have made sense... if Chrysler hadn't already been selling rebadged Mitsubishi Colt Galants (as Dodge Colts) and Simca 1100s as (Simca 1204s) in its American showrooms. Few bought the Cricket, despite its cheery ad campaign. So, what's the badge-engineered car you find most confounding? Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.

2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.
