this is a 1937 dodge truck built as a rat rod 60s gasser. the cab and grill are original patina clear coated. i hand built the rest. 2x3 frame. 66 econoline front axle on parallel leafs. 8 3/4 mopar rear on coil springs and 6 foot long ladder bars (fully adjustable). hand made sheet metal bed cleared. frame and rear end striped painted and cleared. huge cube van radiator with electric fans in bed cools great even parades. twin 400 big block chrysler pump gas engines gone through with new mopar 484 lift cams, 16 zoomies with baffles (still stupid loud). rebuilt twin 727 tranys with full manual valve bodys. ties into new process 205 cast iron gear on gear transfer case. cant give all my secrets away on how it all works (due to copycats) but runs on passenger side motor as primary then u can fire up drivers side pull transfer case lever and engage both. tons of engineering went into this and is very easy to work on if u have lift access. cab lifts off with 4 nuts exposing all wiring. entire floor unbolts exposing trannys and rest of drive train. bed lifts off for radiator and battery. featured in RAT ROD MAGAZINE, won many awards including DIRTY DOZEN at the syracuse nats. people flock to look at this where ever u go most times u cant even see truck through people. funny to see people in their 60s and 70s laying on ground in stones and dirt to see under it. i never actually registered this due to way too many cars which is why i want to sell it too. i do drive this to shows and cruises (illegally with plate off another car) been driven about 8 miles to a cruise round trip many times with no problems. not the most comfortable ride, seat is a park bench ( so literally a bench seat and comes with pictured vintage helmet) brake and gas petals ( yes two gas petals side by side ) are in middle of cab so u have to do every thing with your right foot and straddle the left trans hump. im 6 ft 170 and fit  no problem with a passenger too. was no paper work or vin plate so i bought a 38 dodge registration for the vin number. not a problem to get registered have done before take pencil etching of vin u stamp and paper trail going back 10 years which i will provide. couple bugs i never got around to fixing and would like to state are driver side door latch broken so put on dead bolt inside. no seat belts. originally never wired in headlights but then needed them for a late night cruise so put switch for them outside bye motor. windshield is lexan which some people may frown on but i have done for years in my other drivers. if ur looking for something to jump in and run cross country or on interstate dont bid. if u want the coolest loudest novelty. the most attention any where u go and never see one like it ur the person for this!

2015 Dodge Challenger looks fresh, still plenty retro [w/video]

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

It was the Ford Mustang that kicked off the retro-styled muscle car renaissance back in 2005, but it was the Dodge Challenger that served as the movement's poster child, with its unabashedly retro looks. Over the years, though, as the Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro were freshened and upgraded, the look of the big Dodge has remained largely consistent since its 2008 debut. For 2015, the Challenger has received a big freshening, boasting strongly revised front and rear ends and (finally, finally, finally) a redesigned interior.
Let's talk about that new cabin first. It's basically been plucked directly from the redesigned Charger, and boasts the same seven-inch IP display. The center stack's miserable, last-gen display has been replaced by an expansive, 8.4-inch UConnect system. Material quality should see a solid boost with the new cabin, as well.
The exterior, meanwhile, sees a revised front fascia with LED halo lights, as well as new grille inserts. A functional shaker hood scoop is a must-have extra on the V8 models, while the back of the car is highlighted by a new set of LED taillights that don't use the "Racetrack" design of Dodge's other models.

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education

Mon, May 4 2015

The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly. FCA US Dealers to Offer Employees No-Cost, No-Debt College Education FCA US teams with Strayer University to develop first-of-its-kind dealer program Degrees@Work program open to all employees of participating dealerships Employees can earn no-cost, no-debt degree through Strayer University All Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships may participate First phase of program rollout begins with dealers in the FCA US Southeast Business Center National rollout expected later this year May 4, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Employees of Chrysler, JeepĀ®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships will have the unique opportunity to earn a no-cost, no-debt college degree through Strayer University's Degrees@Work program, developed in collaboration with FCA US LLC. FCA US is the only company in the automotive industry to offer the program.

Dodge Journey gets more SUV-like look with new Crossroad model

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

Looking to play up its aging three-row crossover, Dodge will introduce a new model for its Journey franchise at next week's Chicago Auto Show. The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will be a new trim level positioned between the SXT and Limited, and it will be distinguished from other Journey models thanks to a handful of styling add-ons.
Plucking a page right out of the appearance playbook of the Ford Explorer Sport, the Journey Crossroad gets a meaner, more SUV-like demeanor. The Journey has often straddled the line between tall wagon and crossover, but this new trim goes a long way toward skewing its visuals toward the utility vehicle end of the spectrum. That's thanks largely to the Platinum chrome exterior trim on its roof rails and side sills, unique fascias, smoked headlights and taillights and, of course, those black 19-inch wheels. Inside, the Journey Crossroad will get a similar treatment, with darker, Liquid Graphite accents throughout the cabin, and the model will also come standard with leather seats (which Dodge says are a new design), and Chrysler's giant 8.4-inch Uconnect screen.
The 2014 Journey Crossroad goes on sale this spring with a starting price of $24,995 (*not including $995 for destination) for the four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive model, but Dodge says that the model will also be offered with more power and capability from the optional 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and all-wheel-drive. Scroll down for the full press release, and check back next week for our live coverage from Chicago.
