The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The car is in overall excellent condition. The exterior has only a few whisper type scratches on the surface of the clear coat. There is one small ding on rear quarter panel smaller than the size of a dime and is only noticeable if you look for it. A few of the rims have minor scratches to them as well. The car is very well maintained and is waxed and cleaned regularly. It is also kept in a garage and for the last several years was only taken out on sunny days. Overall i'd rate the exterior a 8.5/10The interior is even cleaner. As the original owner of the car, and its only driver, i can attest to the fact that no one has ever smoked in the car. All of the upholstery is basically flawless (there are no rips or stains anywhere to be found). I'm a slender person so even the seats are not that broken in. Really a very clean and nice interior. Overall i'd rate it a 9.5/10"

I am selling my 2005 Dodge SRT-4.  I am the original owner of the car and its really been a great car. I've had little problems with it and I've kept it extremely well maintained. It runs great and is free of any mechanical defect i am aware of.  With that being said, the car is being sold as is.  Just because i have not run into any issues does not mean you wont down the line. Like i said though, it runs great and i would have no problem having a mechanic giving it a good once over.  I'm only selling it because i grew out of it with a wife and child now.

I have every service history recipe since I purchased the car.  I bought the car brand new from Lee Dodge in NY.  I got the car with less than 10 miles on it.  The car is basically stock, but i did make a few changes.  The car is tinted (20%).  The rear tail lights are the upgraded Mopar ones.  I also changed the shifter to a mopar short shifter, mainly because i liked the throw distance.  It's a nice little upgrade especially when you're in traffic.  I also upgraded the rotors to slotted ones and use a stronger brake pad than stock.  The result is a nice firm braking action that is not too uncomfortable for daily driving.  I also have a front strut brace that i never got around to installing that i can throw in for free with the car in case you'd like to install it. The wheels on the car are ASA AR-1s.  The tires have around 10k on them and are still in good condition. I have the car using the stock BFGoodrich as i've found them to be a great sticky 3 season tire.

The two accidents reported on the carfax were minor fender benders with the rear of the car being struck by another person not paying attention at low speed.  No structural damage was done to the car.  In the first occurrence the rear bumper cover was replaced as it got cracked from the hit.  It was replaced with an OEM bumper cover.  The second was a minor hit to the rear quarter panel and again the entire piece was replaced with OEM parts.  The front of the car, or any part that impacts the structure or functionality of the car was NOT affected in either situation.  Both accidents were purely cosmetic.  I can provide details and recipes for everything.

Overall whoever gets this car is getting a steal.  It's wonderfully maintained and its hard to part with, but it's just something that needs to happen for a practical small family (i'm driving a prius now haha). Anyways i'm posting a bunch of pictures to try and show the best i can the great condition the car is in. I am sure i am missing details that people want to know about so please just message me and ill respond promptly.

In terms of payment, i require paypal for a deposit and then a certified check or cash for the balance.  I also prefer that you pick up the car, but if you want to make arrangements for having the car shipped, all of the costs will be paid for by the buyer.  It's on Long Island, NY.

Please only serious buyers. No joyriders.  I work and have a family and i am very busy. Please don't bid if you really don't want to buy it.  Thanks so much for looking.

FCA recalls 570,000 SUVs from Jeep and Dodge over fire woes

Sun, Dec 27 2015

Fiat Chrysler US has issued two recalls covering a total of about 570,000 Jeep and Dodge models. The first concerns vanity mirror wiring in the Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011 and 2012 model years, and in Dodge Durango units built before September 12, 2012. The automaker recalled almost 900,000 units last year to repair the issue, then faced more issues this year when the fires continued in repaired vehicles. This new recall seeks to resolve the issue, FCA saying that the post-recall fires happened in a tiny percentage of vehicles equipped with a specific wiring package. This recall is for 352,831 total units in the US, another 26,478 in Canada, 13,037 in Mexico, and 84,330 internationally. No injuries or deaths have been reported. FCA says it will inform customers as to when they can schedule a service visit to remedy the issue. The second recall takes aim at 60,107 examples of the Jeep Compass and Patriot from the 2015 model year in the US, plus 5,755 in Canada, 3,351 in Mexico, and 23,995 in other markets. Those models could suffer from an out-of-position clamp on the power steering fluid line. The error could allow fluid to leak, increasing the risk of a fire if the fluid ends up on a hot surface. In the case of a complete loss of fluid, drivers will need to use a lot more effort to steer. The automaker reports no injuries or accidents, and will advise customers when to head to the dealer for service. Post-service overheating conditions were observed only in vehicles equipped with a certain wiring package. These vehicles were produced before Sept. 2, 2012.Affected are model-year 2011-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs produced before Sept. 2, 2012. Wiring in the headliners of these vehicles will be secured with a new adhesive.

Dodge Durango gets the Blacktop treatment

Sat, 09 Aug 2014

The Dodge Durango is getting a meaner, more aggressive look as it becomes the latest model from the brand to wear the Blacktop Appearance Package. The upgrades are strictly cosmetic, but they lend the SUV a more assertive demeanor that some buyers like.
Available on the SXT, Limited and R/T (shown above) models, all Blacktop Durangos get black 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust, bod- color fascia and gloss black trim. The grille surround, air dam, mirrors and headlight surrounds all get the inky treatment, as well. The improvements add $1,590 to the cost of the SXT. They come to $1,990 on the Limited but also include HID headlights with LED running lights and a leather interior. Finally, R/T buyers only need to pay $295 for the upgrades. The Blacktop Durango hits showrooms this October.
If you're already in the market for a Durango but want a dash more style with no added performance, the Blacktop might not be a bad way to go. It certainly gives the SUV a bit more edge than it has in stock form. Scroll down to read the full release.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
