This is a 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8.  The exterior is Maroon and the interior is black leather with gray suede inserts.  The engine is a 6.1 liter Hemi with 425 hp in stock configuration.  It has a 5 speed automatic transmission that was designed and manufactured by Mercedes.  It also has, AC, CD, PW, PDL, PM, cruise control, Homelink garage door opener, power seats, rear storage system and privacy shade, and Brembo brakes.

I purchased the car in 2011 with 17k miles on it from the second owner who was a minister in FL.  My father purchased it from me and owned it briefly.  Neither of us used it as a daily driver and only drove the car for pleasure.  It has been extremely well taken care of and never in any salt or snow.  It has never been smoked in.  There are no dents or damage of any kind and the paint has a very deep shine to it.  The interior is new condition and has the original floor mats underneath the weathertech trays.  It was always garaged and washed/waxed frequently by hand, never an automatic car wash.  It runs and rides like a new car and needs nothing.  Everything works 100%.  There are no leaks of any kind at all.

Only 93-octane gas was used.  I have used Castrol Syntec Edge 5W-40 Full Synthetic Oil and either Mobil one, K&N, or Wix oil filters every 2-3k miles.  It has been updated with all factory recalls and TSBs.  In the last 7k miles I have done all of the following: I have changed the transmission fluid (actually I did it three times to get all the old fluid out of the torque converter) using Mopar ATF+4 full Synthetic Transmission fluid.  In addition, I changed the cooling by flushing the engine with tap water, then flushing with distilled water, finally I drained the system (including the two engine block drain plugs) and refilled it with the proper Mopar coolant, distilled water (50/50 mix) and the required Mopar coolant additive (per a TSB).  I also flushed the brake fluid with Synthetic Dot 4.  I replaced the power steering fluid and drained and filled the differential with Royal Purple 75w-140 Synthetic Gear Oil.  All of these items were done about 1k miles ago and I did all of these at 17k miles when I bought the car (except brake fluid and PS fluid which I only did this one time).  The rotors were replaced at 24k miles with the updated slotted Mopar rotors F/R (per TSB) and I installed new pads F/R.   The belt was just replaced with a Goodyear Gatorback.  The tires are in excellent condition and are 275/45/20 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 high performance tires with good tread depth.

When I purchased the car it was 100% stock.  I completed some minor modifications.  I removed the Hemi badges and body side moldings.  I purchased brand new exact replacement Hemi badges and body side moldings from the dealer.  The body side moldings were professionally painted and are in still new in protective packaging with the original tape ready to install if you wanted to put it back to stock.  These are both included with the car.  I also installed a new Mopar cold air intake system but still have the OEM unit that goes with the car.  I installed an oil catch can to prevent oil ingestion through the intake.  This can be easily removed and put back to stock. I also installed small lids over the headlights that look like the hood and fender to reduce the bulging headlight look.  These can be easily removed if desired.  Lastly, I installed Charger SRT8 wheels.  I think these are much better looking wheels than the Magnum SRT8 wheels.  They are the same size and are forged just like the Magnum SRT8 wheels.   In summary, all the modifications that I performed are minor and the car can be easily put back to stock except I do not have the Magnum wheels.  These wheels are readily available for sale on the internet because many do not like how they look.

I am selling my Magnum because I have too many cars and do not have enough time to drive them.  This is a really nice car that has to be seen in person to really appreciate.  I have a lift in the garage at my house for easy inspection of the undercarriage.  I also have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells before the end of auction.  I am located in Knoxville, TN.  Please contact me at 865-278-7063 if you are interested or have any questions.

The under tray beneath the engine was removed only for taking pictures.  It has been reinstalled and is included with the car.  I also forgot to mention that I have replaced the shift interlock mechanism with a billet aluminum unit that will never fail.

Just to clarify, all of the maintenance mentioned was performed about 7k miles ago.  I accidentally typed 1k miles.  I apologize for the confusion.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.

2015 Dodge Charger shows off its new look in New York [w/videos]

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

With a new look inspired largely by the Dart compact, the 2015 Dodge Charger made its New York Auto Show debut today. Along with the interior and exterior changes, an eight-speed automatic becomes standard across the range.
What hasn't changed is the choice of engines under the Charger's long hood. A 3.7-liter V6 serves as the base mill, and can be had in both rear- and all-wheel-drive varieties, while the 5.7-liter V8 is an optional item and can be had in rear-drive only. Outputs are also carried over from last year, with 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque for the six-pot, while the Hemi V8 delivers 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque.
The new exterior treatment is a fairly large departure from the styling tone set by the Charger since its reintroduction to the US market in 2006. The blacked-out, crosshair grille and new headlamps are the biggest changes for 2015, though there are other, less immediately noticeable updates, such as the more rounded "Racetrack" taillamps that, like the front fascia, draw some inspiration from the Dart.

Ram, Jeep redesigns on hold, Alfa Romeo models may come sooner

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Last summer, FCA outlined an ambitious five-year plan that sketched out the company's product intentions for each of its brands through the end of 2018. However, even the best strategies sometimes need tweaking. According to Reuters after speaking with unnamed people at auto suppliers, FCA is now possibly delaying at least a dozen projects in North America for a variety of reasons. From vehicle to vehicle, these postponements allegedly last anywhere from just a few months to over a year. The sources from the suppliers claim that in some cases these tweaks are for engineering and design changes. The next-gen Ram 1500 reportedly has among the shorter delays and is being pushed from mid-2017 to November 2017, according to Reuters. Also, the much-discussed future Jeep Wrangler is allegedly moving a little later to July 2017. Among the vehicles purportedly seeing longer delays, the next-gen Grand Cherokee could get pushed back about a year to 2018. That then forces the launch of the three-row, luxury Grand Wagoneer to be even further away. Jeep's upcoming C-segment CUV and the all-new Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Challenger might also see postponements. The one brand allegedly seeing an accelerated plan is Alfa Romeo. Without going into detail, the sources from these suppliers claim that the Italian automaker is getting even more vehicles for its lineup and could get them even faster than planned. "Those plans need to be flexible and fluid, with the potential to add some vehicles, pull some forward and extend the life cycle of others," FCA said to Reuters about all of these allegations. "We look at these programs on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis." Investment in the auto industry has been a major topic for FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne as of late. He believes consolidation is necessary so that companies aren't burning money on the same projects.
