78 Dodge Magnum GT. Original 400 4bbl, auto.  Previous owner claimed it has a rebuilt engine and I agree. It has never given me any trouble. Runs strong and sounds awesome with the big block rumble. Runs cool. Engine compartment is very clean.

Originally a black car. Has been repainted on an arrow straight (rust and bondo free) body. Has original GT flares and a Magnum Force rear spoiler with graphics.  Interior is gorgeous red velour. Not velvet! Original material used by Chrysler, with Pentastars sewn into front headrests. Dash has 2 small cracks, otherwise interior is perfect! T Tops work perfectly and lock solid. Doors do not hang. Perfect original headliner.

All lights work as they should. Brakes work great. Power windows work. Has factory CB, AM/FM radio! Carpet has no tears. Trunk is as solid as day one. No rust anywhere on car!!  Tires are like brand new and are mounted on 15" Chrysler cop car rims with chrome centercaps. New 15" spare.  Bumpers have been powder coated black. Hood and trunk open and close nicely.

Dual exhaust sounds awesome and ends up with roadrunner "Machine Gun" tips. Rides very smoothe and drives straight down the road. Good suspension.

The few imperfections are windshield has crack, front bumper has a scratch on top, small dent (the size of a quarter) on right side of roof which would be covered if the GT roof stripe was added, headlight doors work manually but motor not working, have never troubleshot it, windshield wipers inop (never troubleshot either) may be disconnected under dash.  Speedo bounces, I think is loose under dash. This is all I can think of that it needs, nothing major.

This car is car show ready and stands out from the crowd where ever you drive it. I believe you could drive it home, but imply no warranty (also, you would only get maybe 12mpg highway) its a musclecar!! So I'd advise trailering, but thats up to the winner.

Again, I have been as honest as I can and will be glad to aswer anything I may have missed, Greg 505-463-5829 call or text. I will answer.  I am selling this car because I am moving and must travel lightly. Low reserve, so I am needing to sell.

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Dodge Shadow America

Tue, Aug 2 2016

A quarter-century ago, most Americans looking for a cheap transportation appliance went for cars like the miserably-stripped-down-but-bulletproof Toyota Tercel or the feature-laden-but-reliability-challenged Hyundai Excel. Chrysler, having just discontinued the elderly "Omnirizon" platform, took the Dodge Shadow and its Plymouth sibling, the Sundance and offered a car that was bigger, more powerful, and better-equipped than just about anything else for the price: the America! These cars depreciated hard and nearly all were crushed a decade ago, so sightings are extremely rare today. Here's one that I found in a Northern California self-service yard. This one still had windshield paperwork indicating that it was an insurance-company auction car (probably totaled in a fender-bender that caused $200 worth of damage) and that it was a runner at the time it got junked. Such is the fate of 24-year-old economy cars in rough shape. The Shadow was a member of the many-branched K-Car family tree, and the Shadow America came with the same 2.2-liter straight-4 engine that powered millions of Caravans, Daytonas, New Yorkers, and Lasers. You got more torque than the competition, plus a driver's-side airbag instead of the maddening automatic seat belts found in other low-priced cars of 1992. Of course, the paint tended to peel off within a few years and the build quality of the Shadow was hit-or-miss, but these cars were way nicer to drive than, say, a Tercel EZ or Subaru Justy. 2015 Dodge Charger configurator opens up shop

Thu, Dec 11 2014

Itching to get your hands on a new 2015 Dodge Charger? Your day is almost nigh, my friend While you're waiting, you can spec out how you'd want your muscle sedan to look as Dodge has included the revised four-door in its online configuration tool. Though it's not the most impressive or interactive of configurators we've seen, the site lets you choose any color you want (from the limited array available anyway) along with all the key options packages and such. First you'll need to choose a trim level though, but we're afraid the Hellcat version isn't part of this site, and the SRT site hasn't launched a configurator yet for the world's fastest production sedan, so you'll have to choose between SE, SXT and R/T trim levels. 2014 Dodge Durango

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

Say what you want about the Dodge Durango, but ever since it came on the scene in 1998, it has occupied its own niche in the SUV market - not too small, not too big, tough, able, not always the best on the road and not always the best off-road. If it were a football player, it would be a tight-end that can block and catch. If it were a hamburger - a double burger with cheese and bacon, but not the Whopper.
As part of a mid-cycle upgrade for what was already a very capable SUV that Chrysler introduced in 2011, and built on the same platform as the Mercedes GL-Class and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2014 Durango has gotten some refinements worth noting that have cleaned up its tailoring and toned up its body and powerplant. The result is an SUV that shows itself to be a very good value in a category full of sticker prices that can run away faster than a kid who's been told he has to take ballroom dancing lessons.
Chrysler executives showing us the new Durango made a special point to reiterate that the Dodge brand is not going away, as has been rumored after the company took the Ram and Viper - the cream of the brand - out from under the Dodge umbrella. Turns out Dodge has been the brand attracting the most young people (who knew?) and has a younger average age buyer than Honda. The Dodge brand historically has also attracted buyers who aren't exactly Phi-Beta Cappa, which some companies worry about. Chrysler not so much. Dodge buyers tend to be more the working, high-school-educated, community-college-educated backbone of the work force in America. If they keep coming to Dodge, the Durango is a pretty good piece of hardware to save up for.
