Here we have a 1962 Dodge Lancer 4 door station wagon with 60's styling and with modern safety and performance upgrades.  Engine and transmission have been recently rebuilt, new Flow-Master exhaust mufflers, and a new battery.  This wagon starts every time and is fun and safe to drive, excellent exhaust note.  The dashboard instruments, door latches and locks, tailgate window all work correctly.  The windshield has no cracks as well as all of the glass all the way around. New whitewall tires with approximately 1000 miles, the full Lancer hubcaps are in very good condition.  All of the chrome is in good condition, with some pitting and hazing, the original grill is in good condition.  There are two areas of rust that are shown in the pictures just in front of the rear wheels on the rocker panels, these areas can be fixed very easily.  The body paint is in nice condition with minor imperfections, please review the photo's to determine condition of the paint.  There is a spot by the fuel filler cap where the paint is a different color.  The original roof rack is missing but the mounting holes are present if you want to install a roof rack.  The rear window goes down easily at the tailgate and there is no rust on the tailgate.  The interior shows very well with some upholstery work completed.  Interior door panels are in excellent condition as well as the dash pad.  The original radio works.  True miles are unknown.

The following upgrades have been completed on this Lancer station wagon, front power disc brakes, 318 ci rebuilt engine (originally slant 6), rebuilt push button 727 torque-flight transmission.  The rear end is an 8 1/4".  Modern steering components, dual exhaust mufflers and piping from exhaust manifold to tailpipes.  This wagon handles very well.  The wheels and tire have been upgraded to 14".  There is a heavy duty rear sway bar in the rear.

We got an inside look at Mopar's cars that will be on display at the show, which also include a Dodge Challenger T/A concept, two crazy Jeeps and a Ram 2500 Outdoorsman that could change the way you camp. While these are some of our favorites, Mopar is bringing plenty to SEMA, so let us know your top choices in the comments section.

Dodge Durango gets the Blacktop treatment

Sat, 09 Aug 2014

The Dodge Durango is getting a meaner, more aggressive look as it becomes the latest model from the brand to wear the Blacktop Appearance Package. The upgrades are strictly cosmetic, but they lend the SUV a more assertive demeanor that some buyers like.
Available on the SXT, Limited and R/T (shown above) models, all Blacktop Durangos get black 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust, bod- color fascia and gloss black trim. The grille surround, air dam, mirrors and headlight surrounds all get the inky treatment, as well. The improvements add $1,590 to the cost of the SXT. They come to $1,990 on the Limited but also include HID headlights with LED running lights and a leather interior. Finally, R/T buyers only need to pay $295 for the upgrades. The Blacktop Durango hits showrooms this October.
If you're already in the market for a Durango but want a dash more style with no added performance, the Blacktop might not be a bad way to go. It certainly gives the SUV a bit more edge than it has in stock form. Scroll down to read the full release.

Guy trying to sell Challenger Hellcat for $89,000 because VIN ends in '666'

Mon, Jul 27 2015

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is undoubtedly one of the baddest cars on the road today. With a 707-horsepower supercharged V8 snarling under the hood, the coupe can go down the road like a bat out of hell. There's not much that could make one of these muscle machines much more menacing, but a seller on Craigslist has one bizarre solution: offering a hellacious Hellcat with a VIN marking the Dodge as the beastly 666. What's the price for such unholy identification? That's a cool $89,000 – around $30,000 more than a brand new, less sacrilegious example. The seller claims that the Challenger's blasphemous number makes the vehicle "one of a kind," which is true only to the extent that VINs ending 665 and 667 would be similarly unique. The seller also says in the Craigslist ad, "This car is sure to become a collector's item and will only increase in value." There's no question that the Hellcat is a special machine, and the models just might be worth something decades into the future. Expecting that a future owner is going to care about the VIN seems pretty optimistic, though, unless this is either the first or last example, which it's not. To the credit of this superstitious seller, the Challenger appears completely untouched with all of the warning stickers, paperwork and even the plastic still covering the seats. So, the new owner is at least getting a practically untouched example. While we applaud audacity here, a roughly $30,000 premium for an unholy VIN seems a bit... devilish.
