2000 Intrepid Es, 3.2l V6 Engine, Alloy Wheels, Sunroof, Fog Lights, Etc. on 2040-cars
Matawan, New Jersey, United States
Up for auction is a 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES. This car was very reliable until the timing belt broke last week while I was driving it. I didn't hear any loud catastrophic noise, but can not guarantee that the engine didn't suffer any damage. I was told that the only way to determine this is to replace the timing belt and see if it runs. I was just accelerating from a stop when it happened, so was probably doing only about 20 MPH.
Car has been completely smoke-free for its entire life. I did all the maintenance and oil changes, and have receipts as well as a spreadsheet that I kept listing all the routine maintenance and any repairs. Car has small dent in rear driver-side door, where my son opened his car door into my car in our driveway. Also, it has dings in the hood, from ice melting and falling off a pitched metal roof in a strip-mall parking lot. Tires need to be replaced, and the front struts as well. The front passenger power window only works intermittently, power door locks needs new solenoid valve - need to usually manually lock and unlock doors, a/c needs charge, plastic piece on sunroof needs to be replaced - or else you can only "vent" the sunroof. Car has alloy wheels, fog lights, air bags, and has been a very reliable vehicle. I am the original and only owner. 180,690 miles. This could be a great investment for a mechanic, or someone looking to salvage the parts. Note the car does not run, so you must arrange to have it towed. Additionally, payment must be made within 72 hours of bid closing. Please feel free to ask me any questions. Good luck! |

Chrysler recalling 644k more Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over brakes
Wed, 02 Apr 2014Early last month, we reported on Chrysler issuing a preemptive, proactive recall for about 25,000 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The issue revolved around a brake system that wasn't causing any actual problems, but delivered an unsatisfactory brake feel, so Auburn Hills called in a good 25,000 of SUVs around the world, including 18,700 in the United States.
Now Chrysler, having apparently determined that the brake problem on its sport utes is actually much bigger than it initially realized, has drastically broadened the scope of the recall. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for precisely 655,354 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Durango, covering the 2011 through 2014 model years. In addition, Chrysler is recalling 42,380 units in Canada, 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 overseas.
The problem which Chrysler found revolves around the brake booster, whose center shell has been found to be subject to corrosion, allowing water to get into the brake system. That water in turn could freeze, preventing the brakes from working as well as expected.
Here are the cars Fast 8 characters will drive in Iceland
Tue, Jun 28 2016The eighth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise will feature some characteristic wheel-to-wheel adventuring, this time on Icelandic ice. As revealed by the F&F production team, here are some of the vehicles that will be seen in the film. What else could Dominic Toretto drive than a Dodge? The previous film showed a Charger fitted for off-road driving, and this time the classic shape has been formed into an ice racer. The muscle car is still recognizable, but the altered wheelbase and fender flares make this something quite different. And as the bullet holes testify, the matte black machine is definitely going to see some action. Letty drives a Local Motors Rally Fighter, which might be the best fit for the ice scenes. The off-road coupe has been modified with a brush bar and some serious roof-mounted lights. Roman will be seen behind the wheel of an orange Lamborghini Murcielago, easily standing out in the frozen wastes. To top it off, there are some tank-like machines: There's a tracked Ripsaw for Tej Parker and an "Ice Ram" for Hobbs, who is played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Both of these look like mean machines, and on the screen they'll probably prove to be the admission ticket's worth. NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged
Fri, 23 May 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.
