2000 Dodge Durango Slt Plus Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Delmar, New York, United States
Auction is for my 200 Durango SLT 5.9 4X4. I bought this truck a year ago from a dealer near Philadelphia, PA and drove it home. Truck ran and drove great all the way. It has 170k miles on it and the engine made some noises when I bought it but no problem driving to NY. I found and fixed 2 of the noises, the timing chain was stretched to the max and hitting the case and the intake pan gasket was blown. Installed a new Hughes Engines timing set and intake gasket upgrade set, water pump, thermostat, tune up etc etc. Engine still makes some noises and I don't have the money right now to fix anything else. It will be sold as is. I also installed a new front bumper, headlights, windshield, and I have new ball joints that I haven't installed yet. I think this is why the steering sticks like it does. I had a shop fix the heater blend door and while the dash was out installed a new heater core and a/c evaporator core and charge the a/c. $$$$$! Body is pretty straight one rust spot and lots of scratches, underside is super clean from living in Pa. Interior has a couple cigarette burns but quite nice. Third row seating also. No engine lights and she runs, transmission shifts great, plenty of power!! Has the optional larger tires on it which were new when I bought it. Please ask questions I'm sure I missed something. Wish I could keep it but I need the money to get a pick up truck which would be of more use to me.

2015 Dodge Viper getting small increase in power
Tue, 29 Jul 2014The Viper is used to being the most powerful car in the Dodge and SRT stables, but the arrival of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat means that's no longer the case. The serpentine supercar is, however, reportedly getting a small boost in output for 2015, amounting to all of five horsepower.
The increase was uncovered by Road & Track courtesy of the SAE J1349 certification process to which Detroit's Big Three automakers submit themselves and which reports the Viper's output at 645 hp instead of the 640 it was rated at until now. There are a hundred factors that could have contributed to the relatively mild boost in output (best guess? nothing at all changed...), but we doubt anyone's going to complain about some extra horses under the hood.
The five-horsepower boost brings the Viper that much closer to the 650-hp Chevy Corvette Z06, not to mention the 707-hp Hellcat, but the Viper's impressive power-to-weight ratio ought to mean it'll have little problem keeping up in a straight line - which is just one of the reasons why Chrysler won't shoe-horn the Hellcat into the Viper: as R&T points out, the supercharged engine is too heavy and the blower makes it too tall to fit in the Viper's engine bay.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Is Mopar readying a special-edition Dart for Chicago?
Sat, 26 Jan 2013Chrysler has released the above teaser of a limited-edition Mopar 2013 model that will be unveiled at next month's Chicago Auto Show. Although the automaker doesn't announce what vehicle will get the Mopar treatment, closer investigation of the seats and center console suggest that this car will be a special version of the 2013 Dodge Dart.
This will be the fourth Mopar model in as many years, following on the heels of the Mopar 2010 Challenger, Mopar 2011 Charger and the Mopar '2012 300. There are no details for the Mopar '13 Dart, but we do see that the car will retain the signature black-and-blue color scheme as past Mopar editions. Like these previous models, we expect production of Mopar '13 Dart to be limited to just 500 units.
Scroll down for Chrysler's press release teasing the new Mopar model, and we'll be sure to bring you plenty of live images from the show floor in a couple weeks.
