for sale at NO RESERVE  is a all original  factory air conditioned v8 powered 1972 dodge dart swinger with 50234 original miles, This car is a climate controlled garage find which is much nicer than a barn find and it is in immaculate shape with all the original rust free body panels in 100 percent original paint. I purchased this car in Jan of this year through a friend of a friend in North Carolina. the car was purchased 10 years earlier from a climate controlled garage in ny state it has had 8 thousand miles put on it since it was moved to its Carolina home,,,it is hard to believe this car is originally from ny state due to the shape this car is in. I own several older mopar muscle cars and this is by far the cleanest most original old mopar I have ever owned.from looking at the bottom of this car you can see that this car has never seen any salt,it is factory undercoated and it looks as if it was never even in the rain. The car has all it's original driveline original exhaust system shocks etc, it now has new 14 inch radial tires on the factory rims with ply dog dish caps and beauty rings, I was gonna put some cragars on it but figured I would leave the rim selection to the new owner. I have the original hubcaps in perfect shape that were on the car with the old bias ply tires,(tires are gone now) but it still retains the factory bias ply spare that is brand new looking and jack that have never been out of the trunk,,the lug wrench has never been on a lug nut as the black paint is unscratched,The 318 motor runs perfect with no noise at all and the trans shifts as it should perfect also. I just put it on the road and had it inspected and the man who inspected it was amazed at the original shape this car is in under hood has all the factory chalk marks and you can see that nothing has ever been messed with,I replaced the windshield as it was cracked when I got it  but the rest of the glass is original tinted glass with no scratches in any of the windows the factory rubbers around the doors and trunk are still soft as are the cat whiskers and there is no air noise when driving this car down the road at speed  The original trunk mat is like new as is the paint in the trunk If I did not have 5 other sweet cars I would not even think about selling this car, as I said it is the sweetest original car I have owned. The few things that this car has wrong with it are aprox 4- 5 minor dings from parking lot mishaps which are barely noticeable. the grille is missing a small piece that you cant see unless you lay on the ground and look up at it. the air condition is all there in and out and I am sure if you put a shot of Freon in it it would blow ice cold. All the lights burn the gauges all  work except the speedo needle is all the way at 120 but the odometer works fine.  this car basically needs nothing to take to cruises or shows and if I were to keep it I would put a set of wheels on it and be done with it. You really need to see this car to believe it it is in amazing shape. The interior has one tiny slice in the top of  front seat about 1 in  long barely noticeable and it has one very tiny whole in the headliner along with a couple fine cracks in the dash pad. The  door panels are like new and I replaced the carpet due to someone had greasy shoes on it and as sweet as the rest of the interior is there was no sense leaving the dirty carpet in the car it has a brand new correct carpet from classic industries I also replaced the vinyl top with a new legendary top due to the old top was starting to crack from the 40 plus years. If you are looking for a dart swinger I honestly feel that you will not find one in nicer original shape than this car here and if this car is not all I claim it is when you come to pick it up I will gladly refund your down payment. Don't miss out on a time capsule as these cars are getting hard to come by in this shape and if you ever been to a car cruise and seen that one car that you cant believe how nice of shape its in..This is that car. I am offering it without reserve  at a starting bid that most people have in there paintjob. you need to do nothing but enjoy it fly in and drive it home. any questions please call eastern time 9-9 thanks Joe 7167068714 and I reserve the right to end this vehicle sale at any time as it is for sale locally as well as other venues.I am sure I have forgot some things and I want to be as honest as I can about this car so ask all questions before you bid.   it is cruise ready now and I have got so many compliments on this car the few times I have had it out I have my doubts about selling it as I know I will never come across one in this shape again

Fiat Chrysler to get $105M fine from NHTSA for recall woes

Sun, Jul 26 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is about to send a powerful message to automakers doing business in the United States, assuming reports of an upcoming $105 million fine against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles comes to fruition. In addition to the record-setting monetary fine, according to The Wall Street Journal, FCA will have to accept an independent auditor that will monitor the company's recall and safety processes and will be forced to buy back certain recalled vehicles. In other cases, such as with Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models with gas tanks that could potentially catch fire in certain types of accidents, FCA will offer financial encouragement for owners to get their recall work done or to trade those older vehicles in on new cars, according to the report. FCA could reportedly reduce its fines if it meets certain conditions, though those remain unclear at this time. These actions against FCA are being taken after NHTSA began a probe into the automaker over almost two dozen separate instances where the government claims FCA failed to follow proper procedures for recalls and safety defects. Included in those safety lapses are more than 11 million vehicles currently in customer hands. These penalties and fines are separate from the investigation over security problems with Chrysler's Uconnect system that allowed hackers to obtain remote access into key vehicle systems in 1.4 million vehicles. Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.

Only in Japan: Dodge van one-make racing series is a thing

Wed, Jul 15 2015

Japan seems willing to embrace a level of automotive insanity that many other places lack. Whether it's 1,200-horsepower Nissan GT-Rs blasting through tight, tree-lined mountain roads or advertisements with dances for the Toyota Prius Plug-in, the country definitely has a unique way of expressing a love for autos. The D-Van Grand Prix might be one of our favorite examples yet of crazy Japanese car culture, because the annual, one-make race at the Ebisu Circuit is exclusively for heavily customized Dodge vans. Like many great things, this wonderfully crazy idea came from a little rule breaking. D-Van Grand Prix organizer Takuro Abe was at a track event for a motorcycle racing school, and vans were used to haul the bikes around. During lunch someone came up with the idea for a race. Ignoring that the big machines weren't actually allowed on the circuit, the drivers headed out. The popularity has just grown since then. These days, the racing vans absolutely aren't the stock machines from the event's inspiration. In addition to stripped interiors and track rubber that you might expect, the list of mods for them is a mile long. For every possible advantage, the racers fit them with things like Brembo brakes, cross-drilled rotors, heavy-duty transmissions, and much more. Seeing vans lumbering around the track is very weird at first, but the racers take the competition very seriously. These folks even employ all sorts of little tricks to coax the most from the machines. This is a fascinating motorsports story, but be sure to turn on the subtitles to understand the interviews with the competitors.
