This is a good looking car, it is solid, I'm not sure if it was born a real Swinger, but it is now. the 318 engine runs strong, it is built for power, the 727 automatic transmission shifts good, the positive traction rear-end works good, the paint is decent, the interior good, the glass OK, most thing work on the car. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of WILL I SELL THE CAR OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes, I'm not crazy, I know the most of you are not registered on ebay and use it as a research tool. PLEASE NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, but I will not trade, why should I trade when I have a hot selling car, I don't need motor cycles, boats, jewelry or your used false teeth. I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!! I worship on sunday, I spend time with my family and I rest. I'm doing this because I love it, "I need a day off". I will be happy to show you cars 6 days a week, call in advance to set up a time. Sorry, but I do not do videos. I'm old and don't want to learn and mess with them, I sell my cars anyway. TITLE: The title matches the VIN on the car, I have the clear title in hand. We are just a father/son operation working out our garage, but I have dealers license to keep things legal. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? This is no rust bucket in my opinion, the underside looks good, but not sanded smooth and detailed for show. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find and the title states none. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a retired mechanic/auto-mechnic instructor/was a Army helicopter mechanic and instructor. When I find a truck or car I like for a good price I buy it fix things and resell for a fair profit. IS THIS A REAL Swinger? It could be, I don't know the difference. PAINT: The gold paint is good driver quality, it has a nice shine, it is straight to look down the sides, no dings, no dents, several touched up chip mostly on the door and hood edge, on touched up scuff on top near the back corner of the roof, its about the size of 2 golf ball. The paint is really pretty good. CHROME: All the chrome is nice, it shines good, the front and rear bumper look good, the window time is nice. INTERIOR: No smoke smell, no real wear, seat covers good, dash pad good, door panels good, the headliner looks new, but was not pulled tight enough, it has some wrinkles. VINAL TOP: Top is very nice with no cracks and no bubbles. UNSERSIDE: Not painted shinny to put mirrows under at the car show. Its not a rust bucket, the frame looks good, I think the floors are original. GLASS: The side windows roll up and down good, the windshield has 1 tiny rock chip on the passengers lower side. ENGINE: The engine is strong, the 318 runs like a 340, it has no rattles or knocks, no blue smoke and no bad leaks. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good condition, but not new. TRANSMISSION: Its a 727 3 speed automatic that shifts good with no slip. REAR-END: It has no bearing noises, no growls, it is positive traction, I checked the ratio by marking the drive shaft and wheels, it checked to be just over 3.5 to 1 ratio. BRAKES: Good, they are disc in front and drums in the rear and not power. STEERING: The cars drives very good, it is not power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels are new looking Cragar and the tires radial, front look near new and the rear are about 2/3 worn out. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, dome light not working. GUAGES: Temp is under the dash, the oil is still on a light and works, the gas gauge works. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE and panel fit? I think the doors fit and open very good, the hood and trunk fit good. WOULD I DRIVE THE CAR HOME ON A LONG TRIP: I never recommend driving a old car home, I just test drive them and drive them some around town, but I do think this car would drive anywhere. DID I RESTORE THIS CAR? No! I cannot restore one for this price, I put new bumpers, new door handles, fixed some things like lights and buffed and polished the car. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in US OR EXPORT "Nations Auto Transport" is located in the Kansas City area: This is a good company that will handle any type of transport in the Call Jim Page....his work number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way with green face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the most checks clear, I have had a fake bank certified check. I will take a bank cashiers check with lots of identification and advance notice so I can check you out. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the transfer. I will not give out my banking information until I get your information. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 66 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but lots of them do not impress me at all, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first, I will not stop the listing and wait for a inspector! TRADES: Please no trades! I do not finance cars! If your going to finance, get pre-approved. BOTTOM LINE: My price is really $12,850 and I am firm, I'm asking more here at my garage. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down, but I don't like that game. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]
Wed, 20 Aug 2014No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
Dodge to sell off first Challenger SRT Hellcat for charity
Sun, 27 Jul 2014
Want to get your hands on a new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and can't wait to be the first to get one? Las Vegas will be the place to be on September 27. That's where Barrett-Jackson will auction off the very first example. And you'd better bring your checkbook, because the bidding is sure to be fierce with all the proceeds going to charity.
The supercharged Challenger with VIN 0001 has been hand-painted in Stryker Red (usually reserved for the Viper) and features special badging, documentation and accompanying memorabilia - not to mention, of course, that 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8. The car will be on display this weekend as well at Barrett-Jackson's Hot August Nights auction in Reno.
Dodge engineers trying to shoehorn Pentastar into Dart?
Tue, 19 Nov 2013The fact that the Dart's launch has been a pretty dismal affair isn't what we'd call secret. Judging by its mounting inventories and poor critical reception, Dodge's successor to its unloved Caliber has struggled since it hit the market. And while both of those are difficult problems to address, at least their cause is well known - the powertrain.
Even Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has acknowledged that the powertrain options in the Dart are substandard, admitting at January's Detroit Auto Show that the powertrains are "less than ideal." Leading with the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Fiat 500 Abarth left a bad taste in the mouths of consumers thanks to the laggy engine and dead throttle response (to say nothing of the manual and dual-clutch gearboxes that needed more refinement). The addition of the 184-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark in the Dart GT has helped matters some, but apparently Auburn Hills doesn't think it's quite enough.
If rumors are to be believed - get that salt ready - a possible solution may be in the works. A report from Allpar is claiming that Dodge is considering fitting a Pentastar V6 into the Dart's engine bay. As the Mopar-obsessed website points out, the critically acclaimed Pentastar is available in three different sizes - 3.0 liters, 3.2 liters and the original 3.6 liters. We don't get the 3.0 here in the US, but the 3.2 can be found in the new Jeep Cherokee and the 3.6 has been seemingly fitted to every model Chrysler can shoehorn it into.
