1972 DODGE DEMON 340

Body:  This is an abandoned project. There is no fender tag or build sheet, but the car is mostly original paint so you can kind of see what it was.  Top Banana Yellow, white longitudinal side strip, black vinyl top, black out hood treatment with hood pins, and dual racing mirrors.  Mostly the unboltable panels are not very nice.  The fenders. doors, hood, and deck-lid could be saved, but would be cheaper to find clean used ones. The strong points on this body is the roof, cowl, trunk jams, package tray. trunk floor, frame rails, tail panel,  aprons, radiator support, and door jams are all very nice and clean.  The floor pans have had some repair, but are very solid.  This car was owned by a body man.  Years ago he sand blasted and painted the aprons, firewall, and the entire bottom side of the car in the original top banana yellow.

Interior:  This car appears to of originally came with white seats and door panels, black carpet, headliner, center console, and dash.  All of the cores are there, but will need a complete make over.

Mechanical:  This car originally came with a 340 4 barrel that is long gone.  The car still retains its original transmission and 8 3/4 rear. It looks like there are some new front end parts.  There are disk brake rotors, but no calipers.

Summary: This car retains most of its original cores from the best of my knowledge.  The big items missing are the fender tag, build sheet, and motor.  Being that there is still a lot of originality you can still decipher what it was.  There is a lot of original paint and striping, along with the factory placement of the dual racing mirrors, hood scoop, and hood-pins.  This will be a very deseriable car when done, but will be an ambitious project.  I am selling this car for a father of a friend who recently passed away.  I have described it to the best of my ability.  If you have any questions please call Tom 804-837-4527

Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.

Chrysler Group moves around execs in wake of recent departure

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Chrysler is busy shuffling executives around in the wake of Ram head Fred Diaz's departure. The automaker has named Reid Bigland (pictured, right) as Diaz's successor in the role of president and CEO of Ram, though Bigland will continue his duties as the head of US sales and the president and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Bigland first came to Chrysler in 2006 from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, so the guy knows a thing or two about trucks.
Meanwhile, Timothy Kuniskis will take over as president and CEO of Dodge. Previously, he served as the head of Fiat in North America and has been with Chrysler in one capacity or another since 1992. His old title now falls to Jason Stoicevich, who will also continue to work as the director of the automaker's California Business Center. Finally, Bruno Cattori will take over as the president and CEO of Chrysler Mexico.
Diaz left his position to take over as a divisional vice president of sales and marketing with Nissan. You can read the full press release on the Chrysler personnel changes below for more information.

Chrysler banks $507 million in Q2, trims 2013 earnings forecast

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Chrysler has some good news and some bad news. First, profits were up 16 percent over the second quarter of 2012, bringing the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based manufacturer $507 million on the back of strong demand for trucks and SUVs (a recurring theme this quarter, particularly in the US). Q2 revenue was up as well, from $16.8 billion in 2012 to $18 billion in 2013. The bad news is that the Pentastar's overall earnings forecast for net income in 2013 has been trimmed from $2.2 billion to between $1.7 and $2.2 billion, according to Automotive News.
In addition to the adjusted net income forecast, Chrysler tweaked its operating profit from $3.8 billion to between $3.3 and $3.8 billion. This has gone largely unexplained by Chrysler, perhaps hoping the news of a three-percent increase in its transaction prices for Q2 will allow it to sweep this adjustment under the rug.
The star of the show for Chrysler has been its US sales, which saw a 10-percent jump, both bettering the industry average of eight percent and improving over the same stretch of 2012. As with the increase in transaction prices, Chrysler has the new Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee to thank. Perhaps most worrying from this report, though, is that every brand in the automaker's stable saw an increase in sales... except for the Chrysler brand itself.
