Hello all I have for sale here a NICE 1972 4 door dodge dart custom with a clear title in my name. It is currently registered and insured and driven often. So the mileage will change by the time you see it, but right now it is at 84,752 original miles.  I think I am the second owner of this car.  It came from Temple city, California literally from a little old lady that obviously kept it, at minimum, under a carport its whole life, if not garaged.

Here is a video I did of the car after I had the A/C installed and the paint buffed out, but before I put the Cragars on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MhxP3vNCPk

I have done extensive work on this car and spent way more than I originally intended, but it has turned out very nice and is my daily driver. It is very civilized and drives very very good. If you drive mellow you can get up to 20 mpg. If you are doing 80 all day it will be more like 16 due to the lower gearing. It pulls really good and has no problem keeping up with traffic and being that it has modern A/C you won't die in summer bumper to bumper either.

This is truly a jump in a drive car that can go right now.

Engine: 225 Slant 6
Transmission: 904 automatic Column shift
Everything I mention below is at max a year old.
The Engine, Drive-train and Interior upgrades include:
Clifford Intake manifold with Weber Carburetor / still have the original intake
Clifford 2 piece headers that feed into dual 2 1/4 Magnaflow turned down at the axle / still have original exhaust
Pertronix electronic ignition/easily converted back to points if you wish
New Alternator
Aluminum Radiator with dual electric fans(one pusher and one puller)
Complete after market A/C system from Classicautoair.com/still have original working heater box.
There are new gaskets all over the engine. Nothing drips or leaks.
New radiator and power steering(just the high pressure side) hoses.
New brake booster and master cylinder/ still have the original
New KYB shocks on all 4 corners
Added a front sway bar and OMG! what a difference it has made, the car turns like it is on rails
Brand new Leaf Springs in back, with shackles to raise or lower the rear
The drive shaft has been balanced and new u joints
Rear seal on the Transmission replaced at this time.
New timing cover Gasket
Tires are still excellent 195 series, the car will easily take up to 215's on all 4
Rims are vintage 80's Cragars on a 5x4 bolt pattern, these are hard to find in such good condition. The lug nuts are even harder to find.
I have the car lowered a little in the front and rear but since it has adjustable torsion bars in front and adjustable shackles in the rear you can easily change the height to suit you with a jack and basic hand tools. No spring cutting necessary.
Bushings and tie rods up front are new.
Steering box is new and the alignment done.
On the inside you will find new carpet, new headliner, new steering wheel/have the original, nice used bucket seats from an intrepid/have the original bench seat. A complete Kenwood sound system and M T X sub woofer/I have the original but not sure if it works. It sounds very nice. It also has usb and aux for use with smart devices as well as blue tooth for phone.
All lights wipers blinkers and switches work perfect. Head light switch comes off when you pull it but you can still easily turn on the headlights.
The tint on the car is limo all around. It is great for hot summer days and makes the car look killer.

The only things on the car that I would say it needs are;
Dash: has a bad crack right in the middle but has a dash cover on it now.
Body: Has some very minor scrapes that I have tried to depict in the pictures. I love the color of the car and I like the patina that the paint shows and actually the paint is in very good shape for it's age. Also I have the trim piece for the front right fender sitting in the trunk.
The front end is still a little tight from all the new stuff but is starting to loosen up.  I have it lubed every couple of months.

There is absolutely zero rust on the car. When I put the carpet in a couple of months ago I was amazed! The floor of the car looks literally factory brand new. The trunk is the same. Drip rails and windows also the same.

Shipping:
I can deliver the car to a shipper arranged by the buyer if it is within 20 miles of 91107, otherwise it is the responsibility of the buyer to pick up in Pasadena, CA.

Payment:
I will need to be paid in full with in 5 days of the end of the auction and of course before I turn over the car to you.

SRT partners with Bondurant for performance driving classes

Fri, Nov 6 2015

Dodge and Bob Bondurant have announced a new partnership that will see the latter become the former's official high-performance driving school. The deal will see the Bondurant school's entire fleet of nearly 100 vehicles switched over from mostly General Motors products to Dodge Chargers, Challengers, and Vipers. It will give paying customers the chance to drive models like the new Hellcats and even the Viper ACR (for those deemed qualified to drive it) on the track in Arizona. The arrangement won't only benefit Bondurant clients, though. Anyone who buys or leases a new SRT model will get a one-day course at the school, including professional instruction on track. They'll have to pay for their own travel and accommodations, but the instruction will hopefully show more drivers of SRT vehicles how to handle all that muscle they've got at their disposal. Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

Watch Jay Leno drive an ex-highway patrol '61 Dodge Polara

Tue, May 17 2016

The latest vehicle to swing by Jay Leno's Garage is a 1961 Dodge Polara. This one was used by the California Highway Patrol half a century ago, ordered specially by the state police instead of the Darts that were usually used by law-enforcement. After sitting out in the sun for a few decades, it recently underwent a comprehensive, ground-up restoration by the historians and craftsmen at the Automobile Club of Southern California. As you can see for yourself, the result of the restoration is really quite stunning. The ACSC apparently spared no expense, bringing the 413-cubic-inch V8 back up to working order, along with the emergency lighting, radio, certified speedometer... the works. In the process they even found the engine cranked out more than the factory quote of 325 horsepower, recording 332 hp and 406 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. The Polara CHP cruiser hadn't even been back out on the freeway since the restoration was finished. But after getting the full run-down from the guys responsible for its resuscitation, Jay wasted little time in bringing it back to its natural habitat.
