Well the time has come in my life to make one of the hardest decisions and sell my baby.  I have owned and cared for this Demon since 2007.  I have put countless hours and money into building it to what it is today.  Unfortunately, I am being dealt a hand that is forcing me to give up a car that I always dreamed of.  It isn’t a 100% street ready muscle car yet,but with little more effort and money this car can truly be a beast on the street or track.  It has completely rebuilt stroker 451cu motor; with high quality parts, no cheap stuff or cutting corners with this baby.  It has a completely rebuilt 727 with a full manual/auto valve train and race quality bands and clutches.  Tranny has been dyno’d for dependability and accuracy here at Transparts Wharehouse.

Rear end is a completely rebuilt 9 3/4 rear end with new Green bearings, rebuilt clutch type posi unit, 3.91 gears on a 741case.  Nothing is cheap on this car, as it has taking me 6 years to get this far. The engine alone is worth more than what I am asking for the whole car, and I’m including the extra parts that I have accumulated through its years.  I will try my best to capture everything that I can possibly think of as far as parts go, but if incase I miss something just ask me about it.  The undercarriage is nearly done; I was working my way back in cleaning, removing surface rust, and treating with undercoat.  Interior is about 95% done, with everything either new or rebuilt. Only thing is the headliner, because it was my first install and I didn’t use enough glue.

All is needed to make this car streetable is the wiring, alignment, shifter install, and a new driveshaft.  This is a true Californian survivor, with the only major rust being at the trunk wheel well.  I was going to cut that portion off and weld in new flat sheet metal for the fuel cell to mount up to.  It does have its share of dents and damage to the front fenders and rear as you can see, but nothing major.  I am truly beside myself in having to sell this one car that I have owned for longer than anything else, but I have faith that it will be going to someone who can finish it up and drive it like it was meant to be driven.  I have put more time and money into this car than I will get from it and I know that.  I am not asking anywhere near what it costs to buy a 71 Dodge Demon in decent shape with a 500 plus horsepower 451 stoker in front of a race ready tranny and bullet proof rear end that just needs minor things to get it on the road.

You just can’t simply buy this kind of car with everything in it, running, with all the body work done, and with a paint job for less than 20K.  Here someone has a chance to buy cheap, finish and sell for nearly double.  Any questions just ask and I will do my best to answer ASAP.  I have the clear California Title in my name on hand, so don’t hesitate to bid, win, and come with a car transport to pick this baby up.  You will absolutely not be disappointed, good luck bidding.  I have over 90 pictures of it that I can send through e-mail uppon request.

FCA registers 'Cuda' trademark, but we wouldn't get our hopes up

Fri, Jun 23 2017

It seems Chrysler has submitted a trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Cuda," as first reported by Motor1. Fans of Mopar will instantly recognize this as the abbreviated name of Plymouth's classic Barracuda muscle car, which occasionally bared the shortened nomenclature. Though this might seem like a sign that FCA is considering a revival of the beloved machine, we wouldn't get our hopes up. See, rumors of a 'Cuda or Barracuda revival have circulated pretty much since the moment Dodge showed the modern Challenger and when it went on sale. And some of those rumors have involved the re-registering of the 'Cuda trademark, even as far back as 2010. Over the years, each rumor died a quiet death as time went on and no 'Cudas appeared on dealer lots. There is one rumor that's recent enough to still have a slim chance of realization, circa 2015 to be exact. It predicts a smaller Challenger-based car called Barracuda that could appear as a Dodge in both coupe and drop-top versions. However, we doubt it will come true, since FCA doesn't exactly have a large development budget, and we're not sure what the company would have to gain by making another sports car to sell below the Challenger. Odds are, it would cannibalize sales from the older, completely developed, and thus more profitable Challenger. Really, this trademark filing is probably just a defensive move for Chrysler. It will ensure that no one else can slip in and snag the name for their own vehicle. It should also help ensure that Chrysler has the rights to use the name on other products such as memorabilia. Sorry to crush your dreams. Related Video: News Source: US Patent and Trademark Office via Motor1Image Credit: Chrysler Rumormill Chrysler Dodge Coupe Performance hemi cuda

Camel-power and Challengers | Autoblog Podcast #510

Fri, Mar 31 2017

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room, because the studio was already taken. We talk about the Dodge Challenger GT all-wheel-drive and who would want one. (And a correction we'll mention in next week's podcast - the trunk lid on the Challenger does wrap around vertically for a decent-sized opening.) Then David has a new performance metric to introduce, proposed by Nissan. The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with an update on the feasibility of the one-year Ferrari financial plan. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too.
